This is how Mattel's JW toys should be. Rubber sculpts, great packaging, being able to stand up. This is one of the best things they've done since acquiring the JP license.

In terms of this VS the original red rex i would say it is better function wise but the orignal wins for nostolgia, i think they are both very good in their own respects. This VS the other Mattel rexes however is literally just the cooler daniel, it is everything that we needed in a Mattel rex instead of getting new variations of a plastic baseball bat everytime lol, but ye it pretty noice.
This red rex should have been the second rex we got from Mattel, maybe not in this red rex varient but the rubber has been sorely needed for such a long time.
Oh yeah definitely, especially considering most of the rexes we have gotten were just the same with not too many differences aside from the super-colossal of course, I also think it would be really neat to see more releases in the classic "real feel" style like maybe a trike or stego like the old dino-damage ones, and maybe if we are luck we will get a re-release of the series 1 raptor or even better yet the venom spray dilo lol that thing was amazing.@@AGamingBeaver
I'll keep it real, i agree except for the hammond collection rex. If you talking most collectors in general (plastic super poseable figures) it's the hammond collection rex and it's amazing stop motion potential. But as a toy, the red rexes functionality is unbeatable. I'm getting both soon so

Nice vid, Beaver, and I've got to agree the new JP 30 Rex is amazing. I had the original when I was a kid and loved it, especially as it had the color scheme of the novel Rex. Unfortunately, we played with it to death, and the rubber ripped at the legs. This is why I love the plastic legs of the new one, removing that weak point. I bought this back when the summer started as a birthday gift to myself, and I love it. I set it up near my Folio Society hardcovers of JP and The Lost World, where this Rex and a Hammond Collection T-Rex I got stand guard over them.

I paid a bunch of money to import one from the USA... then a month later they started selling them here in Japan at Toys R Us... but strangely not the other 93' Classic figures (which I also imported and are soooo much fun!) You should bring your JP toys over to Western Tokyo sometime and do some dino battles! :P

Heck yeah! I was so glad when I got my hands on this one too. For once Mattel actually did a great job and there isn’t really anything negative to say. The execution was top notch :,)
It’s a great figure, however when I got my first one, it’s tail tore completely from the body, I exchanged at Target for a different one, it’s better, but it’s a great shame how that happened.
