What a great idea! A friend just bought me a large ceramic tree and the nightlight bulb is just not bright enough. Your video came up when I did a Google search on "how to make ceramic Christmas tree brighter". I just ordered the color changing LED. I can't wait for my friend to see it bright and changing colors 😍 🌟🎄 Thank you so much.
Glad you found the video. I used to have a larger ceramic tree but I think it walked off when an old housemate moved out. I need to pull my tree out of the attic and get it set up again.
I imagine they would be bright! Mine only had a small bulb socket, so I was limited to the smaller candelabra bulb unless I wanted to change out the socket.
Glad you like the idea. I had been thinking about doing something like this for years until I ran across these little RGB candelabra bulbs that made it a no brainer. It's mesmerizing to watch the colors change and try to figure out the color of the plastic bulbs based on the color of the internal light. I might have to try swapping my "bulbs" around to see how different patterns work with the RGB light. What I have now is "strings of the same color" arrangement which worked well with the incandescent bulb.
Thanks for the comment, glad you like the tree. I just got it set up earlier today and it's mesmerizing to watch the tree bulbs changing color and figuring out what color the LED bulbs inside is.
Wow. That works much better than I thought. I was thinking of using addressable LEDs all bussed together running off an Arduino, but was dreading doing the wiring. Thanx for the idea.
Glad you like it. I'm looking forward to digging the tree out of storage this holiday season. It's quite fascinating to watch the "bulbs" change color and try to guess what the color combination of the plastic bulb and the LED are at the time. I almost always guess wrong.
I suppose it depends on what sort of glue was used and how much. If it's a solvent type glue, maybe some acetone or nail polish remover applied to the broken off piece will soften the glue and let the piece be removed. If something like epoxy was used, probably going to need a small heat gun or something applied carefully to loosen that. When I glue my pegs in I use a tiny bit of adhesive to the point I often have a few pegs that fall out each year when I set up the tree.
Hello! My tree is only 6" tall do you know the exact size of "bulb" I need? also, some are frosted which I really like, do you know where I can find them? Thanks!
Probably need to identify the bulb base type and then use that base name and search on eBay or elsewhere for an RGB LED bulb. It may be something like what i used, there seem to be two common small Edison bulb sockets, the E12 like i used and E14. There may be some bulbs smaller than what i used, but I've not looked for anything smaller. As long as the bulb will fit inside the tree, it should work. The bulb I used is a lot larger than the original incandescent bulb but it works just fine.
I purchased a color changing light bulb for my ceramic 🎄tree looks beautiful. I never would have thought of this without watching this great helpful video🥰
Yes, it makes some interesting color effects with the RGB LED bulb. I like to try and guess the color of the LED based upon the colors in the tree bulbs, usually get it totally wrong.
Hello. Where can I find the bulb?
Check out the search strings and links in the video description, Amazon link is still functional.
@@The4Crawler ok thank you. Does the bulb last awhile?
@@josephdelap8293 I'm still using the same bulb since 2016, so it seems to be durable.
@@The4Crawler ohh wow!! I have to look for that link again. Having trouble.

I put a 100w equivalent warm white LED bulb in three of my big ones, and a 40w Edison LED in my smaller one. They’re super bright now.
I imagine they would be bright! Mine only had a small bulb socket, so I was limited to the smaller candelabra bulb unless I wanted to change out the socket.
I just got the Ceramic Christmas Tree fever this year. I will be ordering this soon. What easy fun!

Glad you liked the video. Yes, I too had similar plans then ran across these little RGB candelabra bulbs and gave it a try.
Great idea and video. Wish you put a link to the bulb on Amazon
Thanks, glad you liked the idea and video. Link is there in the video description.
@@The4Crawler LOL, I saw it after I looked again. Brilliant idea

R Brown love Christmas, and ceramic trees😊❤👍...
That's Nice, one question I, bought one, to paint, it came with bulbs, no base, or Bulb, where can I, purchase a base with bulb ?
Plug "ceramic christmas tree base" into your favorite search engine and you should find some sources, seems to be a few eBay listings among others.
Hello, thank you for posting this video. Where may I be able to look for a light bulb with low watts?
See the links in the video description, just updated the Amazon link:

Have you ever found the older plastic lights? I still have those on my mom's tree she made . I can't find the ones that have more of a point
Never looked myself, but there seem to be a variety of pointed and round style lights available on Amazon:

Fantastic video..thanks for sharing!
Thanks, glad you like it. Will be pulling it down from the attic and setting it up again in a few months.
this is awesome
Thanks, glad you like it. Reminds me I need to grab the tree next time I'm up in the attic and get it set up.
Nevermind, saw the link, lol
Several little colored pegs are snapped off and the broken piece is still glued in the hole. How can I get them out without hurting the tree?

heat up something hot at the end of a needle until it gets real hot and press it through.the broken piece or a heat gun

May I ask if this was a Lakeside purchase?
I don't think so. The tree came from a friend that made it at a craft store as I recall.
@@The4Crawler Aweosme. Thanks for the reply.
Awesome video. New subbie here.
Awesome! Thank you!
