both are good vics, but ive had more problems with pinched rubbers with the easy vic. You really have to watch on installation it doesn't happen, plus sometimes the easy vic doesn't want to "pop in" when you tighten it. I guess what im saying is the easy vic would be preferably installed by someone that has had a lot more experience in the trade.
Bubble Vic's are good for new installs. Yes there a lot faster than the standard Vic but in my side of the business doing service work the standard vics are better cause sometimes actually in most cases you can't get the pipe that far apart to get a bubble Vic on.

First off, why not use the impact on the "standard" side? That would shave off some serious time. Getting the gaskets on in a timely manner would also up production. The 009 vice "easy vice" have downfalls not mentioned. Keeping joints square for one, they twist the fittings making it difficult to keep at right angles or all uniform. Another thing, you have a fully EQ braced system or standpipe (just 2 examples) how do you replace that piece of pipe using the 009s during a service call? You don't. I see them having their place (bulk runs with no outlets) but I do not like them and my employer stopped ordering them shortly after they were released. It was not a bad video, just that I could easily make a video making a standard Vic look better than the 009, which they are IMO. To each their own and the important thing.... Get that pipe in the air.
Rubbers have the tendency to get pinched, I would think it's obvious , and the main reason for using lubricant for so many years. Another little thing is that the Fitter used a power impact socket driver to tighten the supposedly Easy Vic and a manual socket on the other. In a different video the guy gets up on a ladder and starts to ask another guy on the floor to pass him the impact socket driver.(Two guys one Vic Coupling) Another thing, Hast Makes Waste , this time the Fitter was working on a little bench on the floor ,most piping is at the ceiling , and rushing for no reason can cause you a good ass break. Sprinklers is an art and art is supposed to be enjoyed , like putting together a little model. Work is supposed to be enjoyed .Lastly , the guy filming admitted that the rushing was ruining his video. The best part is the Fitter , He's a Real Pro and the video concept betrays him. In my eyes , I like the old style Vic Couplings best.
Haste makes waste. It's nice to take the three minutes you saved to do things safer and correct. Take the time to feel what you are doing and avoid the chance of pinching the damn rubber and later having to deal with an uglier situation. The Tradesman is great and certainly knows his craft.
@@cpaul57 BWAH HA HA HA!!! Look up union sprinkler fitters wages. I'm not kidding even a little bit. This guy's compensation package is $85 pr hr with a $57 hourly wage. Skip college folks! Be a tradesman and earn DOUBLE the average of college graduates.

Cut a piece of pipe out groove reinstall
If u cant get a quick vic on even if there is zero play between fittings or pipe then you dont know how to utilize that hammer in your bag;)
I work fire protection. We use impacts. Only time we use ratchets is when we cant fit the impact.
this guy can work!

If I need an odd size length, how do I groove the pipe ends. Are there any specs on the groove ? Bevel, square etc,?
Yes. Measure it with a Victaulic Go No Go Tape measure. Has 1 1/4” up to 8” on that tape.
Use your hand and feel for proper depth

Well that’s because he used a fucking impact on one and not on the other.
👊👊
the otherside is not moving stay steady on the position .. which its not what i want to see... and
Definitely not a fan of easy Vic's. Far too much play in them.
Far to much play in your mother.
The worker was right, why do two 90's. One on each side would do
Because sprinkler pipefitters are assholes
Maybe they were already gonna need that. It just makes it easier

Ratchet vs impact driver. Come on!
He's good but 5 bucks says i can do it faster
Dont pinch the fucking tag to the rubber
paid by the hour.....Fuck easy fix.....
Real sprinkler men don't wear gloves. And it's never taken me that long to put on 2 4" 90s
I wear gloves and I'll guarantee you I put it in faster and straighter than you
I guess we’re having a dick measuring contest huh.
And he was using a ratchet. I understand what you were trying to prove but Jesus you did it in a ducked up way

Yeah, that guy makes 6 figures and he didn't go to college. Average college grad gets around 50K. I agree, terribly ignorant thing to say.
