I really enjoyed your video, thank you! I owned a 1938 KSS in 1968, when I was 18. I was amazed to find how smooth it was, and how superbly it steered and handled. I sold it the same year because I wanted something faster, but the memory of just how special it was stayed with me through the decades. Last year (2023) I bought another 1938 KSS. I have to finish off the restoration, because the previous owner died before completing it, and I’m looking forward to experiencing one of these wonderful machines again after more than half a century.

Cheers Neil! You have brightened my day to hear the name Velocette, again. Keep me in touch with your restoration!

@@f1pitpass OK Brian, will do. A bit more of the history of my latest KSS: restoration was started in the early 1990s, but not completed. The bike was sold, and it seems that the new owner carried on with the restoration, but again, he sold it on before it was finished. The next owner also continued with the restoration, but he died before completing it. It was sold to a dealer, from whom I bought it last August, and I have been working on it on and off since then. At the moment I’m half way through re-wiring it, and there are varoius re-comissioning jobs to do before I can feel comfortable riding it. Cosmetically, it’s very nice, the paintwork and chrome having been restored by one of the previous owners, but there are some mechanical jobs and checks to carry out. Incidentally, when I sold my previous one in 1968, I sold it to Sammy Miller of trials fame.
