Instead of the Waves plugin you can try using three fruity limiters on top of each other with the gain all the way up. Gave me similar results, its a pretty solid free option!

Amazing video ! Very very very useful, however can you post a picture of the parameters that you have on FilterBank3 ? I can not get the same sound as you ..
Honestly just do some trial and error. I don't want people to recreate the exact same sound rather then get an Idea of the process and make their own unique kicks with it 🙏🏻

how do you get the punch to stand out at the start of the kick any tips , I have what sounds like my bass is side chained which is the envople following your diagram but missing that DUV at the start almost like I want to add a kick under but really wanted to learn how to get it all done without doing this , sorry for my bad explanations thanks DONK appreciated
When the kick is not punchy enough I first try a Transient Shaper on it. If you want a more laser-like transient Disperser does a good job. If that doesn't work out I just layer the very beginning of a nice Kick Drum (just the transient not the body) at the start and cut that at 100hz so no frequency cancellation occurs ✌🏻

Why is my Distortion moving around after the first Steps but i got Serum in Default Settings and only automated the OSC 1 and Subbass. When i turn off Rand it stops but then it doesnt Sound like in your tutorial anymore.

Have you tried changing the "Phase" knob next to the "Rand" knob too? The phase position of your single cycle wave can sometimes cancel or double your bass and that messes with the distortion/sound
Why do my kicks sound so low? I dit the same settings but my kicks did not " scratch" that hard than yours. They are only peeping with hard bassline but not that hard scratch

what do i do if i dont have filterbank, and in the start you used another key in serum so it sounded deeper but mine is always in one specific key how do i change that
I made a filter-bank equivalent with stock plugins. Theres a video about it on my channel. As for the key: just play a different note on your midi keyboard.
hey whats does your filterbank preset consist of? no matter what i try it just doesnt sound the same:(
It's suuuper specific to very narrow frequency bands so if your phase is offset or your peaks aren't at the exact same hz it doesn't sound the same but try to fiddle around until it sounds good not until it sounds the same 🫶🏻

It's mostly just a saw wave with the volume automation like i do it in the video. Then just try different wavetables at random 😊🙏🏻

Put the Phase and Random to the Zero Position
Mine did that too! Just kept recording the finished kick until I had one that I liked lol
How did you get the serum plugin?
I bought it on the Xfer-Records website
I can also give a tip and get it from splice as you have a monthly payment plan and not just a upfront payment of a bunch of money

I bought it 😅 But you can recreate it with patcher, two Equalizers and Distortion
download the demo and put fruity limiter noise gate on it then you don't have the demo noise

Hallo Dr.Donk, ich weiß nicht ob du das lesen wirst aber ich habe ein Problem mit Serum und ich weiß nichtmehr weiter.
Ich habe jetz 3 Stunden lang recherchiert und rumgetestet woran es liegt und es ist zu 100% Serum und zwar:
Wenn ich wie bei z.B bei der Stelle im Video 2:41 den Sound öfter abspiele, hört er sich jedesmal anderes an bei mir, einmal hört man das ,,hohe schrill Übersteuern'' raus und beim anderen mal ist es wieder ein Dumpfes Geräusch und man hört es garnicht raus.
Das ist aber bei dir nicht so.
Ich bin jetz wie gesagt nach angen rumprobieren darauf gekommen dass der Ursprung des Problems der Sub von Serum ist, ohne den hört sich der Kick gleich an, so wie es sein soll aber sobald ich ihn anmach hört es sich so an als ob sich die Soundwaves von den Sub und die Soundwaves von den generellen sound überschneiden, anders kann ich mir die Abweichung bei jeden replay des Patterns nicht erklären.
Wenn du dafür eine Lösung hättest oder dir gar die Zeit dafür nimmst, wäre ich dir sehr verbunden.

Ok ich hab jetz nochmal recherchiert und herausgefunden dass diese Abweichungen an den Rand (Radomize) neben den Phase regler liegt, den muss man einfach auf Null stellen, trotzdem erschließst sich mir die frage nicht warum das bei dir keinen unterschied macht da du den auf 100% hast und sich der Kick trotzdem jedesmal gleich anhört. Ich bin so verwirrt bro

There isn't a 64 bit version of filterbank 3 available for mac. I've been trying to find alternatives but never found anything close. Any suggestions?
