For me it depends on the quality. If your brand is way better than the one that charges less money, I don’t mind paying extra. I started doing this with bread and though my cost a loaf has gone up by $6, the loaves I get have been a lot healthier for me as a result, and tastier too. But if you’re charging that much more for something that’s only mid at best, that’s when I stick with the cheaper thing.

That dunkins chocolate frosted had old icing on it. It all starts out that lighter brown color, and it sits in a steam table. Over time the sugars denatured from the heat and it becomes blacker and blacker.

If you ever get the chance to try Shipleys, you should. They put potato flour in their donuts, and it gives them a pretty unique texture. I do like krispy kreme for the record. But Shipleys is both cheaper and they dont go stale as fast as Krispy Kreme.

If they are cooking a batch you can ask them to put a few almost done back in the oil and they will get a bit crispy. They won't always do it but if they aren't busy they are awesome
