- In my search for more dinosaur short stories, I found one called "One Prehistoric Night", which focuses on a group of aliens that visit Earth during the Late Jurassic Period. Gee, surely nothing could go wrong.

I forgot old paleomedia prior to the dinosaur renaissance essentially made sauropods chumps despite their large size. How the tables have turned.
The original 65 story
And better
Rick Raptor!
@@RickRaptor105 agree with that
Nah, its original aliens vs dinosaurs, which is great comic
Turnip from octonaughts
Cover artist borrowed a little bit from Charles R Knight's piece 'Leaping Laelaps' painted in 1897.
i knew it was familiar!
We do need more Aliens Vs Dinosaurs...
Or Aliens AND Dinosaurs...
OR ALIEN DINOSAURS.
Looking at that cover, I can tell the artist used Charles R. Knight as a reference the way a lot of modern artists use the Papo toys or Jurassic World renders. Still an interesting premise, though!
Leaping Laelaps with a rocket ship
Looking at the cover art, the "homages" to the palæoart of the era are nifty Easter eggs, but is anyone else weirded out by the giant, now-apparently-carnivorous Protoceratops?
Maybe, certain ceratopsian not only just opportunist omnivore but sometimes actively hunt small animal
@@prasetyodwikuncorojati2434 Like with the cows eating fledgelings and snakes, yes. But that sucker's about 20 feet long, at least!
@@Beedo_Sookcool not unexpected, au sauropod ate a crewman in King kong afterall ; such depiction were not unnusual back in the day
I really kinda dig the concept of a dinosaur feeding frenzy. I can imagine it being used on a video game to ramp up the difficulty as fighting or killing would attract more scavengers and opportunistic predators.
In all my life I never knew I wanted something along the lines of Aliens vs Dinosaurs
You might want to look up the old late 1980s AD series "Dino-Riders" for a lens on a later-idea of a story that was quite good.
Thank you so much for covering these old stories. I still grew up with the weird retro dinosaur art and crazy dinosaur alien crossover stuff, as a kid the cover art and illustrations were so interesting and a bit creepy. I hated it after getting more into real palaeontology because it was so silly and wrong, but nowadays it's a wonderful guilty pleasure as a work of fiction haha
I wonder why no one made a video game based on old paleo art and these strange dinsoaur designs yet...
I guess most people are too scared to make movies or video games based on these art style simply considering the backlash they can get from purists. In truth I prefer the artists' rendition of reality than what the scientists try to tell us. For example I don't mind and actually appreciate that the Jurassic World series continued with their original Raptor and T-Rex designs instead of kowtowing to the latest science narratives.
Art can still be appreciated years down the line but scientific facts tend to change with new discoveries. People can still enjoy dinosaur movies knowing they are flawed in many ways but "real" documentaries like Walking With Dinosaurs and Planet Dinosaurs immediately become obsolete with every new fossil unearthed.
The thought of one of the dinosaurs biting down and thrashing around a martian (like a dog with squeaky toy) while the martian whistles frantically is fucking hilarious to me!!
0:27 WTF I love that LIZARD TARANTULA WITH GOOGLIE EYES?!?!?
The cover references quite a lot of famous paleoart ; the most obvious one being the jumping Allosaurus copying Charles R. Knight's jumping Dryptosaurus.
Btw i highly encourage you to get the book Paleoart. Visions of the Prehistoric Past.
True enough, it's a pretty pricey book, but it contains SO MUCH pictures of Paleoart, some famous, others very obscure, yet spectacular !
This book is a must have, for any dinosaur lover ; and especially for those interested in the History of paleoart and the evolution of dinosaurs depiction).
It looks kind of like the basic idea of the late 1980s AD story idea to "Dino-Riders", and may well have partly inspired that tale at that, chronologically-speaking and idea-speaking it makes a lot of sense.
Ok, now I want to see that animated in stop motion style
This was ingenious for its time. Imagine this being little Jonny's bedtime story back in those days!
Is this where the aliens killed the dinosaurs theory came from?
This remind that anime prologue of Devilman the birth , where dinosaurs and prehistoric animals are actually demons and angels are some sort of alien. In the prologue, Angels decent to the earth and immediately got slaughtered by demon. Then the angels decide to nuke the earth into oblivion killed most of the "dinosaurs"
War of the Worlds Dinosaur version.
I feel sorry for the aliens because they were just trying to do their job, finding a new home for they're species. But I'm also proud of the dinosaurs because they unknowingly saved earth from being taken over and changed forever.
Ancient Aliens episode but they try to explain that dinosaurs were actually aliens
(God knows that episode probably exists but don't tell me about it. I'd rather stay sane)
This is Death of the Moon, but if it was handled to a mediocre action movie director.
Have you delved into the Sid and Marty Kroft trippy stop-motion show 'Land of The Lost' yet? They encountered stop-motion dinosaurs so much they had names for them like "Alice the Allosaurus'. They also had a stupid young sauropod pet that made an annoying sound constantly and a race of underground reptilian humanoids they were constantly dealing with.
Thoughts on the upcoming game 'EXOPRIMAL'; The dino shooter game by Capcom?
What if both story's were part of the same world?
Alien 1: Sir, we have a problem! A large, endemic biped has gotten passed our fences!
Alien 2: Well turn it into worms!
Alien 1: But we're out of ammo!
Alien 2: Uh, uh.... A-ask it leave the premises!
Alien 1: Alien 3 already tried that, sir!
Anyone still wishing hbo did DvA instead of NFT
I admit I'm now curious what "The Imperfect Guest" is about.
A recent movie, "65", visits this idea of aliens visiting Meozoic Earth.
I wonder if these magazines can be found on the Graphenburg Project, or at least their stories.
Check out Dino Stalker on the PS2, time travel, dinosaurs, fps, and it's the sequel to Dino Crisis2.
I guess this was the story that inspired '65'🤣
Ahhhhhh yayauauayayayayy woooo
Gergragory and the Graaaagraaaaaaaaahs
To add on to your joking speculation, you could argue it was his story, he wrote it under a pseudonym so he wouldn’t be called out for stealing the concept
this would be a great movie
My brain keeps misremembering that it's called A Prehistoric Night to Remember and now all I can think of is dinosaurs on the Titanic.
This was a wild ride! Thanks for highlighting it for us.
what do you call a fat t.rex?
a chunckyosaurusrex get it? yeah its not good
Yay!! i love Silurian Hypothesis Stories!!
There is a comic called dinosaur vs Aliens you should check it out
btw, i love your voice
"Wonder Stories" seems to have been poorly edited. For example, Barshofsky confuses specie, a word denoting coin money, with the singular of species, which is both singular or plural depending on the context.
Reals
Hello Mister Diego,
it is with great pity here to humbly request of you to put your script into the subtitles of the video, hopefully it's not too much a hassle to broad the watchability of your videos.
Yours truly,
Me
People belived sauropods used to live in swamps and rivers well your not wrong about just take a look at mokele mbembe for example
