@@SIEGESURVIVAL Get out your cross stand pot stand, and cross stand feet then put them on the top and bottom of a cheese grader. Another homemade stove.
@@melissahoffman4687 That's a creative idea. It might be unstable, given that cheese graters tend to be tall and narrow. Also I suppose one would have to cut the handle off to make clearance on top for the Cross-Members and pot. There's also the question as to whether or not the Cross-Members will fit the grater, and the width of graters might vary somewhat. Lastly, there wouldn't be a floor to the stove, but I know of one user who does that with his cans (cuts out the floor) and that works well for him. If you try them on a cheese grater and it works, please send us a photo!
So why dont you redesign the bottom grate with a "church key" delta or pyramid can opener... takes 5 seconds with the right tool... these are the best grates!
Hi Douglas! It's been a while -- I hope you've had lots of good use out of your Cross-Members. Thank you for the feedback! I'm always open to suggestions, and the idea of adding functions is appealing on the face of it, but usually end up having some drawbacks. In the beginning we considered adding various tools to the Cross-Members, but this would require the use of much heavier, hardened tool steel, which wouldn't be ideal for a lightweight stove, and would force compromises to their primary function. Also, in my experience most of the products that attempt to add various other tools end up being less than ideal for every function, including their primary purpose, with one defaulting instead to using a dedicated tool for the task at hand. If people bent their Cross-Members while opening a can, they wouldn't be too happy :). The Cross-Members would also cost a lot more to produce and wouldn't pack flat, whereas church keys are mass-produced and can be picked up for next to nothing at yard sales, etc. For making holes in a can a church key might work a bit better than the fangs (I have a can that was punched using a church key, and it works well), but the fangs are good enough for a survival situation, and for preparing a can in advance, a drill with a tapered drill bit will produce the nicest result.

Can you buy them in the UK if so what is the price for a set of them
Clever design and clever idea... But I think the whole process needs a little bit of refining. I hope you get things dialed in. I'm rooting for you
Sure wish I could afford to buy the full kit, but disability doesn't pay that good 😭 hopefully I can at least buy the top and bottom crossbars soon
I wonder if the pot stand and the feet would work with a stainless steel cheese grader? Great presentation by the way!
Thank you Melissa! I'm not sure what you have in mind -- can you explain your idea for me? :)
