Hometown USA for me. I've been going to Castle Craig for almost 60 yrs. I rode my bicycle up there last week. You can see Long Island Sound and beyond.
Awesome scenery and I have not been to New England before but I was close by one time. If you ever have a chance to fly to Europe you should see some of the castles in Germany, when I lived over there (1986-1995) I visited what is called the Schloss Neuschwanstein or Ludwig Castle which was the one that inspired the Disneyland Castle and someday I would like to return for another visit except this time I will do a hell of alot of Vlogging.
THX-0381 That's awesome man. I've been to Germany but I missed out on those awesome castles over there. I hope one day. Connecticut was beautiful I hope you get to travel there too
I grew up there, and when we were little the big dare was to glide under the walking bridge at the end of the kiddie pool, through the dark stone slimy tunnel waterfall. But one time we went in the castle during a hurricane to see what it was like and the wind swirls upwards and blows you away if you're not holding onto the railings. It was probably stupid of us to do, but life's little mysteries, haha
I need to fly south also...lol..Tampa Jay is my main man mang! When there's a fork in the road..take it..which means no matter where u go..it's all good.✌
I use to every summer as a kid and teenager took model pictures there the wind almost blew me off the rock and almost fell to my death be careful doing selfies lol there...you can see my home New Britain from there.. That rock u pointed at is the rock I almost fell off cus the wind force..Gid bless hubbard park..thank u for memories...I dont live there any more..
Wow... I really admire your "up and go" attitude my friend :D AND what a beautiful environment! Breath taking views... Man that is living! You will thank yourself one day for recording your adventures :D Something amazing to look back on and share. I'm getting that itch to travel thanks to you :P haha. Stay blessed
Only Mahone I was lucky to find this place, I was just looking around Google in my phone, and it popped up. I didn't have anything planned that day, was just trying to find some stuff to explore on my way to my cousins wedding. It. Was a beautiful place for sure. Thanks bro I'm glad you liked it. I never thought about looking back at these videos years from now. That's a really good point. I'm having a lot of fun here lol
I worked as a lifeguard at this park. Also... at 2:40 - 2:45 ish you will see an odd group of hills on the upper right hand horizon that resembles a man laying on his back. (head on right- feet on left) It is named Sleeping Giant State Park... for obvious reasons.
Back in 1989, Robert DeNiro, Ed Harris & Kathy Baker filmed the movie "Jacknife" here in Meriden CT. Castle Craig was in a few of the scenes of the movie and there were also a bunch of scenes filmed around the downtown Meriden area. Jay, you should come back to Meriden CT and do a youtube video on the movie Jacknife and show all the filming locations. On a side note...Meriden CT is one of the most dangerous cities in the state of CT. It's Probably the city where most cars are stolen or carjacked in the state.
This is interesting. My last name is Craig so I researched. The Craig castle in Scotland was destroyed except for a small part and they replicated the remains there in CT. Craig (Craeg) means "dweller of the rocks". Just a little info!
I was there many years ago, the girl I was left, got mad at me, and drove off leaving me there, I walked down and there she was waiting for me, and I just came up from Florida.
Don't try this at home, kids @. 4:56
