I have serious envy for your guts to do what you do. Travelling alone has always stressed me out, even though I am almost always meeting someone at the other end.
wow, I never really think of it that way but I know what you mean :) To me it feels so natural now. I honestly feel more comfortable out in the world travelling than I do being at home, still.
I can see the exhaustion of the previous trips caught up to you on this travel day! So glad you got a whole row on the plane as well as a great hotel room & staff! Looking forward to seeing more of your Dubai adventures and hope you are safe and having fun on your current travels. Rob&Erin
oof, yes! I was exhausted - you're spot on, Rob. Sometimes I forget to have some actual downtime where I do nothing and by the time I got to Dubai I was just burnt out! Hope you had a great time over the holidays :) P x
Phoebe, you keep it real when you travel. That's what we like about you. Thank you for that. Dubai is a beautiful playground. We have been. Enjoy your time there. 🥰🥰 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
I'm exactly the same.. getting emotional when I witness a demonstration with loads of people up close, unexplained tears. It's all good. I almost cried when seeing a heap of police horses moving along the main street of Perth who were practicing for the G20 I think way back... It's a happy emotional I really believe
Yay!! So glad you scored a full row of seats to yourself! The start of a great trip! 🎉 You were so exhausted so, it was great that the hotel was able to get your room ready quickly! That’s great customer service baby! 😊 Can’t wait to see what you plan. Been wanting to go to Dubai myself sometime soon! ❤
ah i loved this video - so 'real' and raw; travel is exhausting so very happy you got an empty row after your jam packed flights to SA! hope you have a great time in Dubai. I'm also really interested in your process of booking hotels as I am very particular too - would love a video on this e.g how you go about assessing your requirements against the availability.
Oh wow, thank you so much :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it being honest and unfiltered. Some travel days look like this! I was a bit worried it might be boring but... it's real! :)
Local SA soccer team arriving back in SA. Passionate fans. The music and dancing makes your chest swell with all sorts of emotions. Busy catching up on your vlogs. Been in Zimbabwe for a week to visit the Vic Falls. Hope you're enjoying/enjoyed Dubai.
Hey I’m Phil from Australia, I was in Dubai last year - what amazing place to travel to, safe to walk around, so much to do. Make sure you go to the Burj Khalifa- tallest tower in the world, check out Dubai mall and see the fountain display etc
Can’t wait for next week’s episode!!! Currently trying to figure out where we’re going to go for our family holiday in June and Dubai was on the list!!
Full circle... We started watching your channel before we moved from South Africa (Pretoria) to Brisbane. This helped us so much to prepare for our arrival. Now seeing you in my old country enjoying Woolworths Foods and bumping into the Mamelodi Sundowns supporters put a smile on my face. We just had icecream at Gelato Messina Fortitude Valley yesterday as this featured in one of your older videos. Feels like a full circle us enjoying your Australian recommendations and you enjoying South Africa =) (yes I know this video is older than a week, only managing to catch up now 🙂)
I hope to get back to Dubai this year or next. But glad you're able to get a room at the hotel, similar thing happened to me when I was in another country. They told me my reservation was cancelled but I paid for it! My heart sank when the person at hotel told me that but thankfully they figured out and I got a room. Lol!
It's a sickening feeling, right? Especially when it's a lot of money you've paid for it! I was so relieved when the guy sorted it out. Last thing you want after a long flight is to feel like you've gotta go to the mat over something!
Thank you for the info about the Uber system there. And I agree finding the Uber stand are before ordering makes for so much less stress. There have been plenty of times I've ordered first thinking I see the sign pointing to the stand only to be deceived. LOL!
hahaha yesssss I hear you! It sends you into overdrive, right? And you're worried they're gonna leave and you're running and bags are going everywhere haha it's crazy!
Another great video, Phoebe. Can't wait to see your Dubai adventures! Where's James (you don't have to answer, if it's private), I loved the dynamic of you two. I loved your tee and skirt outfit too, such simple elegance.
We flew from Miami to Dubai to Johannesburg when we met you. We flew business class, Emirates. Its amazing. We have flown Business class to the Maldives too. The Emirates lounge in Johannesburg is amazing, free champagne, filet mignon! And since we had a 9 hour layover in Dubai they gave us a free visa, transportation, a meal and a room at the JW Marriot Marquis. The second tallest hotel in the world! It was fantastic! Dubai is all lights and glamour! And if you get the chance, fly Emirates business class, its a whole different life! We flew first class on the way back to Miami, it was offered at a discount. Dom Perignon, caviar. I see you didn't like Emirates economy food. The business class and first class food was outstanding. Have fun Phoebe! Nancy and Bill
Oh my goodness, okay! Emirates Business Class sounds AMAZING! Hopefully I'll get the chance to experience it one day soon :) I love that they organised all of that for you on your layover that's sooooo good! What a way to experience it :)
Hiya! That emotional feeling when you saw the dancing at the airport is how I felt when I saw how happy the Jamaican people are. Don't be ashamed to show your emotions, it's what makes you real 🥹. I hate redeye flights, daylights are much easier to deal with and the window seat is worth much more as there's actually something to see outside, instead of darkness. I should fly the A380 sometime, it's a massive aircraft. At least you got a hotel when you came to Dubai. I went to Dubai once and I got a notification that my booking was cancelled at the moment I was on the runway and the pilot was accelerating to take off. Note to self: if you travel in december and you book in april, make sure you change your credit card details when the credit card expires in August. Learnt it the hard way 😅. Now here to know you experienced the same thing. My booking actually was cancelled and I booked another hotel on New Years Eve at the baggage belt at Dubai airport. Then when I got to the hotel it was overbooked, luckily that resulted in an upgrade from studio to two-bedroom apartment. Dubai hotels are outstanding in facilities. Thanks for sharing your Emirates and Dubai experience and have a great week ahead 🤙
Thanks for the encouragement, Felix :) I'm trying to get better at being more open with my emotions. It was very unexpected when I had such a reaction to the people at the airport. Glad to know you've experienced the same thing! hahaha noooo getting that notification as the plane took off would've sent me into a spiral haha I don't know how you daelt with that! :)
I tried Emirate, Their food was terrible, the seat was awful never fit me in any shape. Anyway, you still looked very nice without sleeping and over moving. Take care and have fun, Eventhough I felt you with a little bit overwhelming after over traveling during a really long time!
9:25 Where am I? I don't know where I came from!? What a nice, spontaneus quote! Phoebe, You sound just like Paul Theroux: Tourists don't know where they've been, travelers don't know where they're going...
I flew Emirates economy to Dubai. There seems to be such a dichotomy between luxury and economy 🤦🏾. Luckily like you I had 3 seats to myself and like you that food was horrible 😬😬

Love that you dont hide being tired, emotional or a bit disorganised. That's travel even for pros like yourself!
hahaha oh gosh, thank you :) I'm glad it's okay to share that stuff!
It feels like a friend who shares everything with us. We have travel envy!! Love seeing your travels the highs and lows.
I’m so glad it feels like a friend 🥰🙏🏼
Its a soccer club called Sundowns FC they had won a Super League cup and where on the way back home thats what that crowd was
oh wow!! I wish I'd seen the team actually arrive - that would've been epic :) Glad I got to see the fans anyway, it was fantastic!
I have serious envy for your guts to do what you do. Travelling alone has always stressed me out, even though I am almost always meeting someone at the other end.

Wow, so excited to see the next episode of you touring Dubai! The people seem amazing there. Always makes a place even better.
Totally agree! That's one of the things I love about Japan too - the people are always so welcoming and lovely :)
Phoebe, you keep it real when you travel. That's what we like about you. Thank you for that. Dubai is a beautiful playground. We have been. Enjoy your time there. 🥰🥰 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
Oh thank you, I'm so glad you feel like I keep it real. I do my best to share all the different sides of travel, not just the glamorous bits :)
I'm exactly the same.. getting emotional when I witness a demonstration with loads of people up close, unexplained tears. It's all good. It’s weirdly moving, right?! 😌
Yay!! So glad you scored a full row of seats to yourself! The start of a great trip! 🎉
You were so exhausted so, it was great that the hotel was able to get your room ready quickly! That’s great customer service baby! 😊
Can’t wait to see what you plan. Been wanting to go to Dubai myself sometime soon! ❤
Right?! I got the best little nap after watching Sleepless in Seattle - it made ALL the difference :)

It was definitely emotional! I’d love to visit Zim some day I’ve heard it’s beautiful 🥰
You're awesome, Phoebe! Another genuine, entertaining and down to earth vlog. Looking forward to following your Dubai experiences 😀
oh thank you so much :) Glad you like these realistic travel days - they're not all glamorous, that's for sure!
Same happened to me when I got to Dubai . They were so lovely and accommodating got me in a room Straight away definitely go above and beyond 😊
The service in general is so good!

Do you have any crew members or team with you?

hahaha such a good way to describe it!! :)
Hi from New Zealand. Oh how I miss Woolworths Food in South Africa! They have the best food section! Have a great trip!
The really do, huh! It's so good for grabbing a fresh, tasty bite to eat on the go.

3 seats to myself is the closest i get to business class, put the arm rests up and can have a nap!
Right?! It's the best feeling when you get those three seats!
I would love to go on an A380 plane!
I love to watch your face rather than the video content :D
Yay. But im a bit confused, did u film this before heading home over Christmas? But i saying that, im eagerly waiting for next weeks vid.
Yes! So this whole Dubai series was filmed right after South Africa so I could go home for the holidays and take some time off 🥰
@travelforphoebe that makes sense. Hope u did enjoy ur time off, even though u headed straight into cyclone jasper.
Eat well and sleep
Thank you :)

The food on Emirates has been mid at best since like the mid-noughties. They were the gold standard before that.
