This is so real and underrated. The experience of Asian Americans pursuing dreams is such a hard thing to explain to older generation parents. I remember wanting to be a pilot, a drummer, and a teacher. My parents wanted me to be realistic and were quick to shoot it down. I’m lucky that my passion now is computer science and it’s something my parents support, but I know lots of friends and family that always had to put their dreams behind and settled. It’s a difficult topic and there’s a lot of families that get torn because of this.
Be realistic. Pilot means you die on plane crash, drummer means you get paid $1 a month, and teacher is not getting paid in this online class. Even computer science means your software product ended being downloaded and copied to many computers, so you're working hard to give them free. So, be realistic about your job
@@dmeforever9496 believe it or not some people would rather be happy working a job they actually like then be stuck with a miserable job they don’t like for the rest of existence.
Computer science isn’t realistic anymore. Even with a degree and tons of work experience, in this year’s market, you won’t even get an entry level job as a developer or analyst unless you had worked in that field before.

You don’t have Asian parents. It shows. I’ll tell you what. Go look up the Filipino comedian Jo Koy. I believe there’s a video out there called “follow your dreams” or something like that? It’s about Filipino kids and their dreams versus what their parents make them do (like, become a nurse...).
I don't know what the reason for the cancellation is, but the actress who plays Jessica didn't want the show to be renewed to this season. She showed publicly that she was NOT happy when the producers renewed it because she has a contract but wanted to do another project. Literally the producers put a pic on Instagram announcing the new season and while the fans were leaving comments of happiness, she replied (from her own Instagram) that she didn't like that or that she was not happy, I don't remember exactly. She was being a bitch, selfish and unthankful to her fans and to the cast and crew of the show. I liked her before that.
