Wrist injuries are the worst for artists I remember breaking my wrist a few months ago and when it finally healed I had to literally relearn how to draw delicately. I hope it heals well and you're all good mate👍
Thanks man! Oh that sounds rough, i’m lucky its more a tendon problem, been suffering for years and occasionally I’ll really over extend my abilities and fuck it up worse. Thanks for your support!
Thanks Daggett! Florida family outdoors here, just changed my channels name recently but you are absolutely right about the feathering technique I wasn't putting enough black down to begin with. The more I've practiced the better I've gotten so I appreciate the response 🙏
Hey there buddy, good to see you on again. Sorry to hear about your hand/wrist, hope it heals up quickly, take your time. I think we use the same materials, been messing around with colour pencils lately and eventhough sometimes it turns out great but all around not a fan. If i remember correct you use Fabriano paper, I use Arches purple a great smooth heavy watercolour paper. I use Steadtler fineliners aswell, I find that there are a lot of fineliners out there that tend to bleed when going over them. Oh ....question for ya, what's the egg in the snakes mouth ? what does it represent ? Take care for now buddy.
Hey man good to hear from you, thanks for your kind words Usually if a fineliner bleeds when going over it, its not waterproof or hasn’t dried, though there probably are some brands that are waterproof and still bleed. I been using Rotring Tikki Pens recently, really nice, might switch permanently. Yes i use fabriano, for affordability and easy to get. Arches is amazing but usually out of my price range. Especially for tutorials and stuff. Its a Hoju, wishing stone or wishing gem. In folklore its told to be found in the brain of a dragon and gives the user great wealth, luck and anything they could wish for.
Out of curiosity, I keep seeing adverts for the Procreate ink tattoo brush/stamp etc collection and was wondering about your thoughts on it and whether it’s legit?!
What do you mean by legit? I can’t really speak to products I don’t own myself though.. I sell a few brush stamp packs and “watercolor” and “ink” brushes for procreate on my website if you want to take a look, maybe theres something similar. www.daggetdesigns.com.au
I have a question, how did you learn all of the rules to Japanese tattooing? Do you have any resources or books that could be good for giving pointers?
Just picked things up from knowledgeable friends, my mentor and research. I don’t know or follow all of the rules to a T, but i think just heaps of research 😁
Hi, I've been following you for a long time, I started on paper but I recently bought a drawing tablet and I'm learning to use it, the problem is that coloring is very artificial, I don't know how to do it better. Thanks a lot.
Hey bro! sorry for the late reply. I suggest lowering the saturation of your colours, if they're to saturated, they'll look artificial on a digital screen. secondly I'd suggest using some brushes that look more realistic as well as a paper texture. I have a brush set I use for digital work, take a look here www.daggetdesigns.com.au/product-page/digital-spitshader
