Could you go into more detail on like painting techniques? Like dealing with the paint, how to like fade to skin/blank space. Sometimes I struggle with putting like too much color in a piece/not putting it in the right spot
Hey so I do black and grey but I’m currently wanting to transition to do more Japanese and I’ve been reading loads about it but I can’t seem to find an answer on how to piece or plan a full shoulder to wrist sleeve (waves and background that flow throughout all pieces and join with one another, I’d really appreciate it if you gave me some help or recommend me some books to read!(:
Hey Darren, its really a tricky topic that can only come with experience and practice. But typically japanese designs are applied freehand and to my knowledge, entire sleeves will get outlined in one session, then shading and then colour. Japanese tattoo is a long game art, takes weeks, months or even years to complete a lot of the work because its done at a large scale with a continuous background. Sometimes the subject matter (koi fish, hannya, fudo etc.) will be stencilled on but backgrounds are almost always applied freehand,
really had to dislike this video nothing wrong with what you said y’all tattoo artist legit gatekeep all the supplies but try to tell ppl who want to be one to be organized how about y’all start dropping links to the products yall are using i see this so much im tired of holding my tongue for scumbags who gatekeep supplies and items they once struggle with finding themselves soo now they keep gatekeeping
I’ve linked many of the products I use in previous videos, i’ve discussed at length all of the supplies that I use to paint and I have responded to every comment who ever asked me what supplies I use to paint with, can’t help but feel like your critique was a little harsh. Ain’t no gate keeping here. I use liquitex acrylic inks on cold pressed watercolour paper and taklon synthetic brushes. I’ve mentioned this in almost every tutorial i’ve ever uploaded. this video had nothing to do with supplies anyway.. was more general advice for putting flash together 🤷🏻♂️
