I like that Hoyo is experimenting with all some wacky character designs in this game. A werewolf with a butler aesthetic and rocket boots to kick people with? It's the perfect kind of dumb fun.
I think they're going for something more specific after they made what is basically a black hole for people who play gacha games(Genshin).

For me, it's the clash of the rugged wildness of the werewolf and ice boots/steampunk with the classiness of a sophisticated butler. I'm not used to that and I love it.

So Lycaon's name is a reference to a Greek myth about an Arcadian king named Lycaon who killed and cooked his son to test Zeus' omniscience. This pissed off Zeus and turned Lycaon into a wolf as a punishment and brought his son back to life.

Y'all take a moment to watch the scene at 1:20 with slower speed to witness the beauty of the impact in the animations. Its like they cut the frames inbetween the start of the kick and the impact to make it hit so much harder.
Oh my god, I didn't notice that until now. This continues through the scene whenever he's able to actually land a full kick- It doesn't have the frame cut with the knife throw, or when he knees one of 'em in the face. That's actually genius

Every hoyo game is a huge upgrade on animation compared to the previous one. Genshin's rigs are really stiff and limited, star rail's have way more facial animation possibilities, and zenless has completely free rigs to squash and stretch the models at will

Furries don’t usually get good characters whose traits only boil down to “they’re a wolf”, so when a good one does show up, they flock to it. Eat garbage long enough and McDonald’s will taste like fine dining.
But because of this, there’s a massive convergence of several fandoms. Furries, “step on me daddy”(gay and straight), and ppl who just like well made characters
I actually think him not being a human adds up to his character, like if he's just a dude who's a head butler, it would be just cringe and cliche tbh, but seeing a wolf being this suave and elegant makes it kinda funny but also still very cool.

Also, he's kinda support and dps at the same time as he stuns enemies really fast.

lucky for you, he is so far considered one of the best characters in the game ^^ He is the core of ice teams, and even out of one he is king when it comes to disabling enemies (beign both on of the only 2 stunners of the game so farAND using the disabling ice element). Basically, he has huge utility, and his damage output is good on top of that.
