First time I am blown away by the Seagull, it sounds and it looks beautifull.
Always thoughtful, thorough, and honest reviews. Thanks!
I am blown away, this is awesome
Gorgeous guitar. I have the Seagull cedar folk. I may get this one someday:)
Of course tuned to drop d. Just enhances the sound.
bought this gem 2 weeks ago. call me crazy. but this sounds as good as martin om guitars worth $3000 or more. if you dont care much about big names, this is what you want. The pickup also sounds fantastic as well. Very warm and balanced!
I agree with you you had a martin custom and gibson j45 and sold both went to my friends music shop and bought this guitar i was blown away best one I ever bought
I ment I had a martin and gibson damn thing won't let me edit my comment lol
Totaly agree with you. Got mine one month ago. It's on par, if not better than my Larrivee. Better balanced and more articulate I would say. A great finding, definitely a keeper.
Beautiful looks & sound! Lovely all around even tone, & nice low end for a smaller body guitar. I have several Seagulls & plan to get more! (Stop tempting me...I don't need any more guitars! lol) :)
Does this also come in Natural Finish? Do they have anything new for 2016? They don't update their website!
Fretboard is not anymore in ebony but in richlite since 2017
no
How much does this go for
Could somebody please tell what is the name of the beautiful theme he plays in the beginning?
Darude - Sandstorm
Question: How much difference will the sound be when plugged in between this and say the concert Hall Burnt Ember series? The other series are quite a bet less expensive and just wondering if its worth the extra cash to purchase the Artist Series. What is your opinion? Thank you!
Bigasstbone all about the tonewood. 3 ply wild cherry compared to solid rosewood back and sides
Hopefully purchasing a concert hall burnt umber tomorrow!
this or larrivée om-03r ?
Seagull. Larrivee is better known for mahogany/sapele guitars.
And seagull is better known for cedar
Larrivee! I had this Guitar and traded it because it didn't sound or feel that great. And the guy I traded it too also traded it for a larrivee....so there's your answer. This Guitar is beautiful but the sound is what you want.
Does this guy EV-ER review a guitar in standard tuning?
he doesnt know how.
Robert Godin just seems like the guy you would love to go to dinner with and talk guitars ! Like he once said he was an over night "40+ years" success ! Ha Ha ha !! I feel your pain Robert ! I just wish there were dealers close to me ! Maybe I should look into a dealership !!!
Is this standard tuning? Bass sounds pretty low.
Drop D
Great sounding guitar for little money!!!
1800$ little ? you r lucky
Only about 13-1400.00 US, but that's a great deal for this fine guitar. Save your pocket change!
Ok I will ! thanks for the advice :)
Finally, a Seagull worth owning :) Nice sounding instrument, would be nice to know if they used a bone nut and saddle. I'd also like to know a little more about neck construction and technology.
Would it be too much to expect a demo of this guitar in standard tuning. My word what is in their heads! Nice demo otherwise but kind of disappointing for those of us that play in standard tuning. Seems like a nice guitar.
Love the word “artist” on headstock but now they changed to “seagull”
pickup was just ok. but a great guitar
This guitar is as good as a Martin or Taylor that would cost you at least twice as much maybe three times.Remember when you buy a Martin or a Taylor, you're paying for the name(a lot).Side note:I own a Martin and Taylor.
How are the Artist Series different from The Maritime and other series? How is the manufacturing done?
+Bigasstbone The more expensive series have more cosmetic detail, better electronics, & are supposed to have a higher grade of wood. The Maritime is also all solid wood...the Artist series is more expensive than the Maritime, but I have a Maritime that is incredible sounding! The Artist series probably has a better pickup system & looks a little fancier...if that doesn't matter to you, I'm sure you would be happy with a Maritime. There is a Seagull factory tour video on RUclips...well worth checking out!
+WindOfTheWisp Thanks for Replying! I have a Seagull Maritime Folk and I really love it! Excellent guitar! I recently played the Concert Hall and am very impressed! Is the Artist Series also solid wood? Do you have the link to the Seagull factory? Thanks again!
