  • I finally found the perfect place to build the ultimate car guy compound. Tons of car parts, tools, and a motorcycle were left behind. So today we're going to sort through everything, throw a ton of stuff away, and start cleaning things up. A new house, a new shop, and a place to build cars better than ever before... but the house has some strange secrets of it's own.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make RUclips videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?
    Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

Two alternatives to the regular carpet, one is doing a Cork Floor. It deadens very well and stops the sound of footsteps really well. But, if you have a cat or dog though, it will get damaged easily. The other option that works well is Flor Carpet tiles. If a part gets stained or messed up, the pat can be replaced, plus they look really good.

I love those Atmos speakers. I considered something similar for my living room on our new build, but my research showed that with a 20' ceilings they don't work as well and just sounds like audio from above with no real directionality, so I just went with a traditional 7.1 setup (Arendal 1723 towers, center, surround and a 2000W Monolith 13" sub). When I finish my basement, I will absolutely go with ceiling speakers like those Focals.

came here to get mind of what happened to me today. I officially got laid off from work ( at least I got a decent redundancy package ) and im OK with it for now. I re did my cv yesterday and I left work early today ( getting paid till end of week anyway ) to print out the CV and walk into work places asking if any vacancies are available. 30 dropped off today and hoping to have something soon. I heard back from someone I applied to yesterday and it sounds promising so far. I have a interview on Monday with them, and it will be a good place if I get the position.

Most smart TVs use 100 Mbps RJ45 ports, so WiFi is usually faster, but some will work with RJ45 to USB. USB 2 will get you to around 300 Mbps. Also, directional HDMI cables usually have built in amplifiers which can amplify and equalize the differential signal that gets transmitted, to allow for longer runs w/o using lower gauge (thicker) wires, to avoid the signal drop. Made that mistake installing an 86" and the cable was backwards, didn't realize it was directional.

  • @frankthetankricard

My living room is painted flat black because I have a projector in it, best decision I've made in that room. People always say I'm insane when I tell them but then they also say it's way better in person than they expected. Natural light is not enough to use it as a living room but that's why lights exist. Not needed with a TV but it adds so much to the theater feel I think it's worth trying.

It looks and sounds good enough for me and I built my main speakers years ago and still like and use them. Nothing built into the walls or anything but you have a lot more wall space and everything is easier to get to for you, enjoy the setup.

I had a Sony D2070 when 5.1 first got big. All digital internally, the amps sounded excellent, and it had a display that could show the audio out 20 to 20 like a scope. I eventually upgraded to a Onkyo 777 and I have been upgrading to new and used as deals came up since. The latest have all been Denon about the same time frame as your last one. The 4700 was a refurb with a full warranty for a smoking deal so here I am. I have a Sony HD Radio I still use with it and FM stations here still broadcast it, sounds nice, no static.

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman 27 дней назад +1

@@Cartier_specialist I agree, especially for the money. I didn't want to spend the money it would take to get the 6700 or one of the other beasts they had but I got this one for 1100 shipped so jumped on it and I do have extra amps if I wanted to add the channels it doesn't include amps for. I know one of the retired AVR is a 3808 and I had the 4310 too plus the last Onkyo 898. Both the Denons have issues but work, the Onkyo was fine, just wanted more newer goodies support. You will turn on the ceiling lights only when you are looking for something you dropped on the floor, so don't worry about them being too daylightish. :-) I love you attention to detail and that you have made access easy as possible for future repairs. I hate that homes are designed as if nothing will ever break and you will have to destroy walls, tiles (good luck finding a match), flooring, etc. just to do a needed repair.

"Where oh where can I set up my gaming console collection!? There's no room for it in my living room!" I don't know... I mean, you're a single guy with no kids. Maybe turn one of those seven spare rooms you have into an office/gaming room with PC and console goodness? Or you could just sell them. 🤦‍♀ 🤦‍♀

I hate it when ceilings aren't white. Walls shouldn't be white, but ceilings should always be white.
3000K is also the warm white temp I like the most. But I use 4500 in bathrooms and closets so I see slightly truer colors when I'm getting ready. With warm white in bathrooms and closets I've left only to find I look like I'm dressed like a clown out in sunlight.

10:56 For the record, regarding your 5 inch or 8 inch speakers, the 8 inch has much more surface area than (2) 5's. The 8 inch has 50.27 in² and each 5 inch has 19.63 in² for a total of 39.26 in². Math!
