AT $300 for a hub that doesn't even include the zigbee/zwave controller, you're better off getting Hubitat or going with a raspi and installing Home Assistant.
hi, i saw somebody making weather forecasts with this like the 7 day templates to place weather icons etc on it. i am just trying to find out if thats true and wich program i need for that and how to get started thanks !!
If you're already using HomeSeer software or a HomeSeer hub, you can use the Designer to make a 7-day forecast to show on your mobile devices or tablets.
The Designer is sold separately for standard versions of HS3 (including the Zee) but is included with all PRO versions of HS3 or HomeTrollers. The store link is here: store.homeseer.com/store/x-P1753.aspx
On who's Budget??? I don't see this as a good value for most people since you can do Home Automation control for much less. Homeseer Z + HS Touch Software + Touchscreen + Zstick = $600 + Plugins $30-100 each. or Micasa Veralite controller + Imperihome Pro software + 7" Samsung Tablet = $300 and Plugins are free. This setup is much more affordable on a budget.
+Wayne L Just as in the comments below, the key here is "custom home automation" on a budget. You have complete and total control over the screens you create. COMPLETE control. If you want to drop a floor plan of your home onto the background of the entire screen and then drop light switches, thermostats, door locks and sensors on top of it, you can do this. If you want to create and use your OWN buttons, backgrounds, sliders, etc... you can do this. There are other systems available that will accomplish this but they are VERY expensive... thousands of dollars! Compared to those, yea... this is a great deal!
+HomeSeerOfficial that's not really true. I created this same this with tasker for less than $for software and plugins. total customizable and easy to use. just uploaded a video on my page of it in action.
+burick graham Nice job on your video. Very clever! Here's the difference though. You appear to be using Tasker to launch a number of different apps but each app presents you with a different experience, a different look, a different feel. What we do with HSTouch is allow the user to create a project that can have the same look and feel throughout... so whether you're controlling lighting or thermostats or audio/video gear or cameras, you can do it with the same backgrounds, buttons, graphics and navigation methods.
+HomeSeerOfficial I totally get it. and I agree. I can do the same but I chose to go the easy route for the demo. I'm working on a full app that integrates with all these applications without using their ui. coming soon.
+Kenneth Elston All HomeSeer systems are intelligent controllers that store 100% of your information in the home and process 100% of the automation commands internally. This makes our products Internet-INDEPENDENT! Smartthings stores 100% of your information in the cloud and offers limited local processing (v2 Hub only). Those systems are completely reliant on the Internet.
I like the vid, but I do think the title is somewhat of a misnomer, since HS is not budget friendly. :-) and paying $200 for a UI designer is also not very budget friendly.
Kevin Schaaps Kevin - the key here is "custom home automation" on a budget. In fact our solution is the least expensive home automation options that allows the mobile app to be fully customized. For example, you could put a floor plan of your house or apartment on a screen and then overlay the devices you wish to control. You could add RSS feed data and many other elements. Yes, there's a cost for the system and for the design tool and depending on your circumstances, that may not be in your budget. But compared to other systems that offer this type of functionality, this is very affordable.

Pretty soon actually. If you haven't already had a look, check out HomeSeer Mobile (in beta now): ruclips.net/video/DEMZmz4uMnI/видео.html
