I was at the race!! Before the race, my favorite driver Joey Logano spotted me in the infield because I was wearing his t-shirt... and then he went on to win the race!! One of my favorite days ever! I will always remember it :)
I was there as well, with my two sons; our first NASCAR race; *glad* that it was at the Glen. We were seated in the "90" grandstand, right there at turn one; each lap, the cars slowed to a crawl, so, we really got a good look at all of them, and during the late race red flag, all of the cars parked right in front of us ! Great, great track, great people ! Very down-home, and family-oriented, which I love. When Kyle Busch was challenging for, and gained, the lead, right there, on the front stretch, the crowd was roaring, going insane; as if it were in the 15th round of a heavyweight championship bout ! *Intense !* *Definitely* going back to the Glen: A must.
always this spiritual bullshit at the beginning. have they ever heard that not everyone is fucking catholic? nah, lets just force our spiritual views on this race event because why the fuck not. MURICA!
Gasgano boi shut your fucking mouth. You piece of shit nascar is a family sport and everyone part of the family is Christian they decided to do it because they love there religion and your not a true American for saying that stupidass
As a Logano fan it sucks knowing i could have chosen between 2014 and 2015 and went with 14, It was still a great race I just still to this day haven't seen a Logano win in person, or Penske in general
Watching 2015 Watkins Glen International Speedway on August 7, 2016. Thanks David Montoya (yes, from our "Polish community" and "government workforce") for the summer visits to Watkins Glen speedway, the only roadcourse on the NASCAR circuit, and the leading track in New York State. Beautiful country for a weekend visit, near the Finger Lakes and Watkins Glen itself. NASCAR television popular sport together with the American traditional ballsports, especially football through the Superbowl, and basketball, baseball, and increasingly soccer and golf. Julie Ann Racino 2016
my favorite part was during the post-race when kyle petty said the spin involving menard and almirola ruined their days I mean almirola still finished 16th.
ah this is great been to the glen 5 times now and gotta say nbc has some great camera views never realized how big this place was.used to camp at the esses ahh woke up to practice piss drunk for three days bbq everything great times gotta get back
+Axe Racing FIA WTCC, the DTM or the British touring car championships work fine, yes the cars are a bit more adjusted to the tracks, it´s still close racing though
+Fightlikabrave Road courses might be considered a tad more technical with the 'having to turn right and brake' thing and whatnot. This race was great exactly as is with those NASCAR cars. It's nice to see cars (or their shapes, at least) that you and I drive to work and supermarket, racing through a road course. I take it the "Sprint Series" is for road courses then? Any other NASCAR on road courses I can catch?
You are right that I'm "ignorant" about oval racing. I can't put myself through more than 5 left turns of the same. I think the appeal is that you get to see the cars all the time as they're captured in an oval and because they go so fast, they crash often and spectacularly. I understand some people prefer oval racing but to me there's something far more elegant when you have to think ahead and consider your speed, brakes, gear, angle and interference to position your car just right to hit 3 or 4 apex in a row - all while still going pretty fast. The same guys, with nearly the same cars, did pretty well on the race in this video. I wish they did that more often. As I mentioned, it's nice to see guys driving a Camaro (skin) that is accessible to the common man instead of an impractical, open-wheel car costing millions.
I agree. I like road courses better. But that's not to take away from the oval courses. These cars are not nearly as tight as a lot of other racing sports. And there's a lot going on from drafting, fuel conservation, cooler air out of the draft but you're out of the line. Not to mention nascar pit crews are arguably the most fun to watch. That being said though I like to remember that nascar is built on moonshine running nostalgia. Shine cars turned left and right. I do enjoy the high speed interstate style raceing it has become though.
+Axe Racing defo, or at least some ovals that go clockwise or something, I skip most oval races to find these courses. PS. this race is kinda cheez'y tho :P
NASCAR is one of the most watched sports in America, and is part of a culture of motorsports that begins at an early age, often separating boys and girls. This separation is represented in one "leading lady" driver still in 2016 (Danica Patrick, not the famed public policy Jeanne Kirkpatrick), though the women of NASCAR are a powerful group from high owners, "controllers" and "wives". As in all sports in the 2000s, NASCAR now has a diversity initiative, in part based upon a review of the history of African Amerians, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in sports. More in Square Market/Community and Policy Studies, 2 historic NASCAR reports Julie Ann Racino 2016
Too bad she retired with only 5 cup series seasons done and no wins. I think she's just a publicity stunt that lasted way too long and drained money from the teams she was in.
Honestly, he needed to learn his lesson sooner or later. Glad he found out. Brad Keselowski is definitely tops in terms of where his maturity level is at compared to Logano. Joey is actually devolving
Sometime Soon I Might Go Get A Job As A Flagman In Go Kart Racing & I Actually Bought The Whole Flag Set And Like Watch The Races And Trained Like I'd Be Like The Flagman, Now That I'm 16 I Might Go To A Karting Place and Get A Flagman Job
Romaobb Its a bail out mechanism - If the throttle is stuck down depressed, the driver lifts his foot onto that bar to release the throttle. Hopefully it prevents crashes like that crazy Jimmie Johnson accident at Turn 1 when he hit the foam head on in the old Busch series race on a Stuck throttle.
Play off system. Elimination format. There will only be 4 championship contenders left for the final race, and the one of those 4 that finishes the highest that race wins the championship.
3:57 "What the... are you fucking serious?!" LOL

A wreck is the best part of NASCAR as long as nobody gets hurt!
I freakin' love these cars on road courses

Nice job on the National Anthem.
Not really, he kinda messed it up mid-way, but at least he didn't fuck it up like so many other people do.
Joey Logano is the real 2015 champion
Nah he's to gay and childish
Honestly, he needed to learn his lesson sooner or later. Glad he found out. Brad Keselowski is definitely tops in terms of where his maturity level is at compared to Logano. Joey is actually devolving
Is there any spoilers? (who won, who crashed, etc.)
There IS spoilers
+Cheese_Wafflez Gonna wanna change that 'is' to an 'are'.
Great job Joey!!! That burnout was badass... ;-)
Just Imagine The Pedal Cam That He Had Early on in the race, we would have found out how to do the burnout

***** About that Johnson accident I think Jimmie's brakes just failed and couldn't get the car slowed down. You are right about the bar mechanism
Romaobb its connected to his throttle so he can pull it back manually, hopefully preventing stuck throttle wrecking the car.
Ahh, thanks for the replies

I heard it too, wish he said it again in every race
