Me who lives in England:”hmmm yes, very interesting”
We love small talk, maybe in London they don't as they're always in a rush but out of London people are very friendly and chatty. If you want to get us Brits talking just comment on the weather! We'll have plenty to say then! 😊
or moan most brits love a good moan 🤣🤣 i wish i could say just kidding but its true ha ha ha
but yea we love small talk as a rule
Have you ever been to London?
@@ebikiani9426 yes I live 40 minutes away. Used to enjoy it, it is beautiful, but I prefer the countryside now!
Do you live in Liverpool?
Just to correct a few things. While most pubs close at 11pm, many stay open later if demand is there, such as at weekends. Often 2 or 3am. Clubs will be open even later.
Days in June are very long, sunset at 9:50pm.
Remember there is more to England to London, and respect queues.
Tip 20% but only when dining in. You don’t have to in cheap cafes but do it if you like them. We eat lunch from 12-4 and dinner 6-9pm. And we have plenty of clubs, usually open until 4am.
Most hire cars are manual gear shifts so if you want an automatic shift you should stress this to the rental company.
The ones about not queue jumping and standing on the right side of the escalator are big don'ts here. Small talk is polite OUTSIDE of the main cities. Just a couple more
1. On dining etiquette - don't ask for a doggy bag and use both your knife and fork together
2. don't be offended by the banter, we love to take the piss, all in good fun
Don't jump queues, the English won't like it, we may let you in front of us out of courtesy, but don't just rush to the front.
Thanks for this wonderful video n thanks for sharing d useful info on England.
Many things wrong- my advice to anyone wanting to come to England/UK is come, get over here right now and be welcomed and never want to leave , but lovely voice, and lovely video. well done mate
Great Channel and premium Content!
Brilliant video
I'm English and I'm late, greet people inappropriately and chat to people on the tube so I can confirm all these make all people very awkward. Relax I've survived 44 years getting it all wrong. I do say 'thank you', 'please', and 'sorry' a lot and love tea.
But do you say You're welcome? I heard no.
😀
Wow wonderful place, I thought that England is just famous because of London
Wanna go there again 😍
Good info of London 🙂
Love the footage on this! Your videos just are so good and still has great tips and different to your other videos. In terms of driving as an Aussie the left is normal but what was shocking is DON'T fail to look up the road signs in advance. My sister did and then we were so confused on the speed limit the first day as they have a diagonal line to signify the speed on certain roads. Also it is very strange that they drive on the left but stand on the right on escalators. And finally don't fail to get out of the cities - some of the best places I have slept are the castles.
Hey there, so nice to hear from you 😎 and thanks as always!!! Yes, so many interesting rules that are totally different from everywhere else, but that’s also prt of the charm… How are things down under? Ciao (currently) from Florence where things are almost back to normal!
Hungry Passport yes it is the part of the charm of travelling but researching in advance helps to make the best of a location's rules and norms. Glad to hear your home is safe and well and getting back to normal. My state of Queensland is fine - for the most part life is normal here and no community transmission. Sydney is trying to contain an outbreak and it looks like it won't be until late 2022 or even later that our international borders will open. State borders keep opening & closing so people don't even want to travel within oz. So it will be a while to go but I will just be busy saving and researching so I can make the most of it when it is safe to travel!
Glad to hear things are okay, but so sad you won’t be able to travel soon… hopefully you can do some domestic traveling until then and plan in the meantime, we’ll try to bring more videos soon 😎
I'm from England UK and I'm watching this 🤣
Good information 👍👌
Stay connected 😀
From Dubai
A quick correction for the title
The UK is not England so it can't be called England and the UK at the same time. It is either the travel guide for the UK or just England.
I recomend if you go to england go to pubs there are lots of pubs for a reason
Wales is beautiful too not just England
suprised unless i missed it no mention of our rounderbouts and what is 4pm tea N cakes 🤣🤣🤣 4pm tea time means dinner time its a regional slang and also tea time / dinner time starts anywhere from 4pm to 8pm depending on age groups in house small childen eat earlier where a house full of adults would usually eat later due to work ect
Sri Lanka is also uses England type plug top
Food is good never mention food around me let me figure it out my self when is good time but shift stick cars love it and that tea do lion good and I always look left if you see me looking left first in London or anywhere else just to let everyone know that’s the natural instinct in United States I specially in Lexington park Maryland oooooooooooh linger daytimes till 9 in summer like the McDonald slogs “I’m lovin it”
England .good place to live.quite.town.
if your touring in UK in the summer visit blackpool you wont regret it.
re hiring a car and driving in UK. i think you should mention that using a mobile phone while driving is strictly forbidden, and you will be fined if caught doing so. you must not hold a mobile phone while the car is moving or while the engine is switched on, so even if stationary in traffic, it is an offence to hold a mobile phone. the police are very hot on this. also on seatbelt use which is compulsory for all occupants and appropriate child seats.
children under age 12 or 4' 10" tall must not travel in front seat, unless airbags have been de-activated. frequent checks are made by police on all these, also drink/drugged driving.
I’m British and whilst we do love tea we arent obsessed with it
Yeah agreed. Like I'll have no more than 1 mug of tea every other day
yeah i have a memory of a squirrel so i get confused with great britain uk england and northern ireland
Hi hungry passport I have a question on what to wear in England and what not to wear while visiting London I'm planning on visiting there in 2024
it is best to wear clothes in most locations.
Depends on the weather , take a range of clothes so you’re prepared for all types of weather , given it can be very random over here
je dois regarder ca pour le lycée... Je comprend pas le but
To widen your horizons and become educated?
It aggravates me that people think London is the only place in England. It’s just a big city, get out of London and see the real beauty of England
I absolutely and totally abbor the practice of complaining that British / English / UK foods are not good, even if only generally-speaking. That habit was started by American GI's during WWII when our countries foods were strictly rationed, as inbound merchant shipping bringing in foods to our shores, were targeted and frequently torpedoed by German submarines. We have, since the post-war rationing was ended, come a long way regarding both our own countries foods and the inclusion of incoming recipes by a variety of worldwide immigrants.
Regarding pickpockets, as far as I'm aware, they exist in other main cities around the world too. Just be aware that your belongings will always be tempting to others and not everyone you meet will be honest, though the majority of us _are_.
So many untrue cliches in this video I lost count. British food is great - we don't live off fish and chips. We're also, because of our history, more multi-cultural than most places so have cuisine from everywhere. Don't confuse London with England (and definitely not Scotland or Wales). It's like judging France by a visit to Paris. London is more expensive and not as friendly. As @beanybobs says below we love small talk. We are polite but we're not reserved. It's a stereotype. Some pubs close at 11pm but there are many pubs and clubs open till 2 or 3am or later. The nightlife is great. Go to independent coffee shops, not Starbucks (yuk!). I've done afternoon tea twice in my life for fun - and I'm 55 years old.
"Be polite but don't talk to anyone or make eye contact" xD
Not accurate there isnt a DONT get stabbed
I wish i could go to London
no you don't
@@TheRatCollector yeah u do
No you don't it's a dump grew up there got out as soon as I could walk never looked back.
Stay away.. Thanks in advance!
I don't think the escalator one is necessarily true unless it is specified (in writing on the escalator or a sign) if not then It doesn't really matter, unless im wrong
It depends how busy it is. If you are in the London underground and you stand on the wrong side you might annoy a few people so to be on the safe side I would just go with it.
you are wrong. this annoys people very much. unless there are few people using the escalors, with lots of empty steps, always stand on the right, and pass on the left.
to the australian who wondered why it is reverse of driving on left, i think because most people are right-handed, it enables them to hold on with the stronger hand.
You're wrong about the nightlife and about the prices.
Most pubs do close at 11pm as you said but the nightclubs are all usually open until around 4am, you definitely don't want to go to a nightclub/bar in London anyway as you'll be bankrupt after paying £11.50 for a vodka & coke which you'll get for £2.50 at most other clubs anywhere else.
London is genuinely the most expensive city in England, the big cities here are generally a lot more expensive than any small town but London is by far the most expensive city of them all with it being the capital.
there wrong about a few things but still good effort im guessing the small talk is threw an experience and we as brits are good at picking up vibes of someone not in a good mood 😁 also the bar thing and night clubs tho many have shut down these days and also im still shocked at no roundabout mentions and what the hell is 4pm tea n cakes 🤣🤣🤣
A major reason why London is so expensive is because the UK economy is so heavily centralised in London that demand for both housing and commercial premises is through the roof.
The reason why a pint of Guinness often costs more than £5, especially in Central London, is because commercial rents are extremely high.
Sorry but you’re wrong about the night life. Especially in London and major cities. Night life is reserved more for Friday and Saturday evenings, but it’s there ok! Ok.
England is not expensive. London is. I’m from the north. £4 for a double gin and tonic, i come to london and it’s £10.80. In the supermarkets 75cl of gin is £12…go figure
The information provided is too generalized for a week or two stay. It will take 2 to 3 months to visit everything in your video
Bro I’m English and No one goes for afternoon tea
only rich foreigners with more money than sense. nobody takes it at home either. unless they have staff. other people either drink tea/coffee all day or when they feel like it. nothing to do with time of day. if working, fit in when possible. a biccy is the extent of the food with it.
this is all nonsense from watching silly tv programmes. 99% would laugh at this.
@Keltic D they are both, a part of England and Britain
Speak for yourself 'bro'. I often go for high tea and I always make my tea in a teapot 'bro'. Ps majority of British don't say 'bro', usually the inner city 'init'
1. Never go down to Birmingham, or an Alleyway
Uh oh, I won't.
Most of the UKs a lot cheaper than London though
The don'ts announcer has a German accent.
I hate when people refer to the UK as England is so annoying you don't go to America and say don't do it in California as referring to part of the country as whole country
Why am I being told what not to do in England…..by a foreigner?
Deal with it
Can I suggest one more to add? Don't come here to shoot your little drill video.. for the love of everything holy, if you value your safety that is.
They won't think you're cool, they will feel mocked and that could turn out to be a very bad chain of events.. I like UK drill but wouldn't go there for THAT, by any means.. it's trouble with a capital T
you can smell a religious freak from a mile away
I'm English and this is mostly stereotypical rubbish.
exciting experience in a pub 🤣🤣🤣🤣 fml 🤦♀️ ha ha
what, you don't enjoy a quality pint at spoons?!
GUYS I FOUND THE GODAMN LAPTOP LOCKSCREEN!
Actually my mom and dad said that many people in England were rude and not polite they didn’t say excuse me as they were bumping into them
Actually we are (the born and bred). Unfortunately we have a lot of migrants, legal as well as illegal, and they are changing our culture with their ways😢
important rule: never call football "soccer"💀💀
Don't say "Happy Brexit Day". Just don't.
You'll either get a hug or a punch! 😂
What's Brexit? Some Beer or tea..?
When you meet English people it is a mark of respect to spit in their face, if you don't they may feel you are not pleased to see them.
🤣
oh! another one that's been indoctrinated
If you come here try to stay out of streets that are in the city with just houses and alleyways at night as we have road men, they will try to stab you
this not true of the vast majority of the uk. and what are road men ?
Why do americans hqte british
stuff from the wars, i assume.
I wouldn't say Americans hate the Brits....we may throw friendly jabs back and forth, but the Brits have been our closest ally for a hundred years....as a Texan, I don't hold any ill-will for my English brothers.
@@mozzsticks they were together in 2 world wars though?
Not true
just dont go to england problem solved
