Oh Meg .. if you see this comment .. I hope you know how much joy you bring to me with these videos .. I’ve watched this one several times and I never get tired of seeing little Minnie . I always really enjoy the good outcomes 💕🦇💕🦇💕 And I love the MOPs questions and how they like learning a bit about the bats while talking to you .
I like how interested that family was to know more. Knowledge is power. They will tell their friends their story and there will some more people who are bat fans.
Yes please read my comment above I have to say everyone speaks like this everyone is awful interest and worried about the little bats and that's why I wrote my comment ,they're absolutely awesome people I think😘
Who could ever dream up that she rode the dog to the bath? A real survivor scrambling from one thing to the other. The flower pot into the bathtub is the perfect ending. Minnie is utterly adorable.
Your videos really helped me when I found a mother bat with two babies that had fallen on my patio from the tree. There isn’t anyone to help, so I put on (chain saw cut proof) gloves and used a towel like you do... drove half an hour to the wildlife people. Saved the babies, they couldn’t safe the mother. At least the foxes didn’t get them
I love your narrative of what happened to this little one, especially the line; "the dog ran in the house crying to his mum that he'd somehow acquired a furry hitchhiker," Your sense of humor and story telling is wonderful and of course I love your accent. Thank you as always for taking care of another little mega batty.
Well it was funny Janet. Sensibly Minnie decamped and scampered off to the bathroom, and sensibly the MOP closed the door. And fortunately neither hitchhiker nor puppy were injured in this contretemps.
I like how you take the time to educate the people that find the bats. Education leads to appreciation and they will never look at bats the same. It makes you care much more.
What a good doggie to not panic when Minnie attached herself to it. What are the odds that dog and bat would connect in the yard and Minnie would hitch a ride all the way into the house! It really is something you have to see to believe! I bet those homeowners couldn’t believe their eyes or their luck! Hope Minnie did just fine and was released without issue!
Minnie was released within a few weeks of coming into care. She was uninjured and because she was so little, she kept escaping out of the bars of the dog cages used for hospital cages, so she went to the release aviary. As a wild raised baby she is perfectly able to be released quickly and is already able to function in a batty colony with other bats, having been raised in this environment.
“Hello, BABY!” I just love the joy in your voice when you introduce yourself to the baby/juvenile, Meg! I’m so happy that there are such wonderful carers who love bats so much. ❤️ 🦇s!!
Every new bat is a new batty person and an individual and a character, and hopefully a survivor. I love to meet all the babies and the juvies and I love to rescue an adult who tries to give me grief.
I will always adore the Juice Moment. They don't understand WTH is going on or why, but, well, if you're going to be so kind as to offer a yummy snack, it would be positively _rude_ to refuse.
A "flying - dog" (German for flying-fox: Flughund) riding a common dog into his house, ending up stuck in a bathtub, all wet, hugging a plant. That's better than any science fiction story. Glad all parties ended up well and unhurt. The couple seemed quite nice and interested and little Minnie made a great model, even if she seemed quite confused what to expect next after that wild ride....^^
Ah, but Minnie went on to be totally normal and uninjured - and because she was so small she kept escaping from the cages through the bars, so she went to our release aviary earlier and she was released because she was uninjured, only about a month after coming into care. She was very young, but she was a wild baby and they are more fitted for release earlier.
What a little sweetie!! She just kinda went with the flow. Ok we’re doing this today what an adventure! The other kids won’t believe this wait til I tell them! Sweet little Minnie.
And who rescued the poor plant? 😁 I first thought Minnie had blood on her neck (my screen probably) before I realised-and read- she was simply wet. She so loves the juice she goes on lapping when there is no more! Hang on, Minnie (please).
I love how you explain things to the people in the video, which also ends up educating your viewers simultaneously. I'm sure it gets annoying, having to explain the anatomy of a bat and why bats can't do certain things like walk. However, it's awesome you do this regardless, especially because with education comes awareness. Bringing awareness will help save future bats. Such a good video! Glad that you had a good rescue this time around.
I explain things to everyone but often I cut out the explanation when I edit the video - because mostly I don't make sense when you listen to me, because I am not focussed on what I'm saying, I'm focussed on the bat and keeping everyone safe. So most of my explanations are "gappy" with pauses and never finishing the end of the sentence. Usually, when the explanation more or less makes sense, I leave it in. This time I couldn't cut it out without leaving out a whole gap of visual footage. And I didn't have enough ambient sound to cut out the audio and replace it with a plug of non talking. I'm not sure if that made sense. So I left it in.
Megabattie I understand perfectly. Props for explaining stuff to people. Shows your passionate about what you do and you wanna share your passion with others. I love it! Do you have a video where you explain more details on bats? I would love to learn more! This was such an entertaining and educating video!!! Keep it coming!!! ❤️
Yes, the first glimpse of her in the tub was definitely “a Kodak moment.”☺️👍🏾 Their eyes are so shiny and luminous! I see that often. (When seeing several hanging in an aviary, the pairs of eyes 👀 are so noticeable!Especially when they’re all looking at the camera! It’s intense!) I learned a lot in this video. You were explaining so much about Flying-foxes to this family, and I could tell that they were interested in her, and the facts that you were sharing with them. I hope that from now on, they’ll join in advocating in favor of the bats!
And Meg slooowly opens the door to the dark room. What could be lurking there? Why the cutest battie, in a tub, clutching a lily, and wet, oh, my! Sounds like a good start to a battie rescue story, to me. Good luck, Minnie. I am glad you fell on a nice doggie, sweetie.☺ The Corpse Bride

Because of this show im completely in love with the Australian people😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘really want to visit😜💕💞
Most Australians hate the flying-foxes and consider them to be vermin.
Landed on the dog! I bet both parties were very surprised! I hope she is doing well.
She really loves her bats & made ME care about them too. I loved the anatomy lesson & learned a lot about flying foxes... so interesting!♡♡♡
