Thankfully more good bits than stressful bits! Everything on the boat seems intensified, good times are great and the bad times are really terrible! Cheers for as always!
Not the first skipper to dry out a boat unexpectedly no big problem we’ve done similarly unexpectedly in Queensland and the Northern Territory too, it’s easy to get caught out , all a learning curve , can’t be the master without first being the fool. Lots of qualified people who haven’t the esperience are driving commercial boats and they’ll get their experience the hard way one day too , I reckon you’re doing great .
Ahhhh Airlie! We were there not so long ago cruising around on our jetski's. Was great to see it again and through your eyes. Whitehaven 😍 thanks guys x
I was going to make the point about you guys being part of the tourist boat problem, but I see that someone already got you on that one :) Great video as usual; top drawer stuff. What a place.
Thanks Judy! We love cooking, living onboard has definitely improved our skills in the kitchen. The craving for some foods forced us to get creative! Cheers for watching!
Would a bow and stern anchor have solved your anchoring problems in Hill? I'm hoping to get my own boat up there next year and Hill is on my bucket list..
It definitely would have helped our cause, If we ever go back we will probably just commit to drying out intentionally on a nice flat bank out of the main channel.
@@sailingpopao 👍 Thanks for the tip. Last time I was there was 1983 as the young grunt....too many years ago. Not many boats ventured into Hill way back then but one saving grace is that the charter boats aren't allowed in there... you can just imagine the chaos... or maybe I'd rather not.😱
I’m amazed at what you do with food! How the hell do ya make yogurt....!? Looks like you had an awesome time around the Whitsundays, I’ve been there many times, but never ventured into Hill Inlet. Always overnight in Tongue Bay and do the lookout. Thanks for sharing. 😎🏖🌴☀️🇦🇺
Haha when you love to eat, you find a way to make almost anything on a boat 😂 Whitsundays were great, Tongue bay is a bit less stressful! Cheers for watching!
Hi Guys great episode, after the last two of absolute perfect conditions you landed "literally" back in reality :) We are headed to the Whitsundays next week and then over to Hammo I cant wait
We went to Whitehaven Beach and went for a walk around the corner into the inlet. Sand Flies were in plague proportion. They were in huge clouds you could visibly see. Had to run away, fast. Nearly drove us crazy. Walking back to the boat I saw a GT surfing in on the small waves chasing bait fish. He'd turn around and do it again about 20 metres up the beach. Why? Why did I not have a rod with me? :)
Last episode I thought you'd run aground while motoring, it was nothing that bad, anchoring in the shallows and partial dry out in a cat is no big deal, inconvenient at worst, I would have just moved the anchor so it would dry out level on the next low tide and stayed put knowing I'd need a 1/2 to full tide to leave. on a monohull it would have been a whole other story. Great video 👍🏼Don't let little things like this get to you, just enjoy life (I know you know how to do that)
Cheers Dave, in hindsight it definitely felt a lot worse than it actually was! The next high was good but the wind over tide was brutal, can’t win sometimes haha! All good learning experiences at the end of the day!
Did you get any grief flying your drone at Hill Inlet? We had someone try to call us on the radio (which we didn’t answer) and then played chicken, cutting us off as we were leaving. We gave them a happy wave and they buggered off.
@@sailingpopao We were thinking who made them the Sheriff of Hill Inlet. We were careful to send up the drone straight after the Helicopter flew by every half an hour.
Thank goodness micheal knows how to beach y'alls catamaran..Lol.. Jk.. Glad it all worked out.. That place is stunning !! So hell inlet was literally hell..😂.. Y'all be safe .. Here in the state's everything has been open no mask and half the population has been vaccinated.. So thing's here are almost back to normal..
Hahaha thanks! Our cat is designed for it just not quite that angle...It’s actually called Hill Inlet 😂 Glad to hear you guys are getting back to normal we are still a fair way off! Take care!
You guy's should have more Subscribers your just as good as Zatara and Youngbloods, and other sailing youtubers great job. Suggestion to increase subscribers; raise a child on board or at the least have pet involved.. Michael's is so talented in so many things looking forward to him getting more in depth of how he fixing things mechanical and electrical many watch to see these practical applications of how to... thanks guys
Thanks Michael, great advice! No children coming anytime soon, pet’s would be awesome but just don’t fit with our hobbies, diving all day etc. Can do more in-depth explanations though! Thanks again!
Thanks for the video👍
Pleasure Peter, thanks for watching!
Spectacular scenery again. I think most boat owners have made the mistake of wrong anchorage that causes delays.
Thanks David! I’m sure it won’t be the last time either!
We usually just see all the good bits not the stress what you have to endure at times. Thanks again for the Episode.

Thanks John! We are constantly learning but are grateful for the experience! Cheers for the kind words!
Stayed at Hill Inlet/Whitehaven for a couple of nights once.
The sandflies/midgees were savage!
They can get pretty hungry when the wind drops out!
Another Great Video to end off the week. Thanks Guys.
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
You guys rock. I just started to watch you guys. Seen nearly all your vids. Awesome contents... Have a blessed day further...
Beached as bro!! Another great video guys.
😂😂😂 Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it!
The colour of that water is out if this world 🌎 holy heck!
Beautiful spot! Cheers for watching!
Jase on Que sera, same boat as yours, did the exact same thing in the same spot, a couple of years ago, nice spot to be stuck though, great videos to
Haha did he now! We know Jason! Will have to have a chat with him 😂 cheers!
Ahhhh Airlie! We were there not so long ago cruising around on our jetski's. Was great to see it again and through your eyes. Whitehaven 😍 thanks guys x
Great spot! Thanks for watching Nyree!
19:19 LOL, Michael needs some help!!! hahaha
😂🤪
You can make a spin off series. "Adventures Of The Angry Crab Man"
😂😂😂
Fasntastic spot there , ripper of a current goes through there , I’ve even seen dugongs at night in there
Yeah the current is no joke! It is a stunning spot! Dugongs would have been cool
Love the videos!!! Food and recipe stuff is a favorite! It always looks delish
Thanks Beth! Glad your enjoying them!
I was going to make the point about you guys being part of the tourist boat problem, but I see that someone already got you on that one :) Great video as usual; top drawer stuff. What a place.
Hahaha yep we’re totally guilty 😂 lousy out of towners, the Whitsundays has no place for tourists 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it, cheers for watching!
Another awesome vid guys 😎 such an amazing spot there , we were there only last month 🏝🤩
Thanks! It is a great spot!
6+ boats in Hill Inlet! In previous years it was rare to see even one and did I see a mono in there as well?
Wow, and that was quiet because of border cosures! There was a mono at the entrance but don't think they stayed for low tide. Cheers for watching!
Good video guys - got bogged in the same spot :)
Haha thanks Bob, seems to be a common theme 🤣🤣 glad we’re not the only ones 😝
"Dry at the front and wet out the back" - my wife didnt appreciate it when i told her that'll be her in few more years Lol Oh the joys of getting old.
🤭 sleeping on the couch tonight? 😂
@@sailingpopao ...and eating my dinner through a straw too 🤣
😂😂😂😂
😂
That is bloody hilarious 😂
most beautiful parking lot I've ever seen. Glad you weren't on a monohull though! That Polenta would really have picked up some speed lol
Hahaha give that Polenta a speeding ticket you reckon 😆 At the end of it all it wasn't a bad place to be "stranded" cheers for watching!
You seem to have some great food and cooking tips as cooking on a boat is a little different to cooking in a full kitchen at home keep them coming
Thanks Judy! We love cooking, living onboard has definitely improved our skills in the kitchen. The craving for some foods forced us to get creative! Cheers for watching!
Being safe on every adventure,is what realy count,s the most, luv u guys an please stay safe always,s cheers u two,👍💯🦞🐟🦀🥽🦈🚤

How did you go with the crab pots? Any luck?
A small estuary cod, not a claw!
On the plus side of sitting dried out at low tide, it only gets better from there...
Eternal optimist! You'd be a good sailor haha!

No issue at all, pretty sure there is no restrictions? What boat was trying to cut you off?
@@sailingpopao The boat was Water Pistol.
A recreational boat! Haha that’s a bit out of order!

Came back doing the tourist thing lol
👌
Marooned on your own island, or at least your own sand bar. LOL
Haha we can think of worst places to get marooned that’s for sure!
Please don't accidently knock that winch handle out of the starboard aft winch,, or do you have another?? Thanks
Hasn’t happened before? Any reason why we would? Got 4 handles onboard 👌
Michael always comes across as an angry crab man at the best of times.... seriously guys get some perspective 🤣
Just waitin for a mate.
😂😂😂
a little ironic - a couple of tourists on a boat complaining about tourist boats.
Hahahaha touche! 😆
You should ditch that poser witch bro,but um but yeah😁
Dont worry your not the first and wont be the last I parked at Stieglitz on tipplers passage and rolled down hill all night
What’s the saying, those that have touched bottom and those that will 😂
