Most of our Islands you can't trust anyone when it comes to money and belongings when will we learn but the stories they tell sometimes touch our hearts
So true never happen to me about the barrel but before my kids grow up i feel it with work men steel my money to work on my house but thank God my children grow up and them angle my money good thank God . But some families wicked fe true 🙏🇯🇲🇱🇷
Thanks, man for exposing all the dam teefing dogs 🐕 them god bless you mon i sit down and listen to all the video and i almost cry 😢 because this happen to me before so it’s hurting god no bless up god bless you 🙏
Not every family members are the same. Whatever business my sister or brother ask me to do i do and send copy of all receipts. When my brother send barrel for my mom its well appreciated
As a Trini, your friend is absolutely telling the truth. I sent my sis money to get passports for her 3 kids. Has she done it yet, nope. I am disappointed but not surprised because before I moved to US she did shit like this. Shame on me for thinking she changed. I kept my distance for 7 years. At this point, I will just go back into my cave and keep my distance permanently
It's very sad that the man's family members didn't value his hard work and ambitions . However, there are some remarkable things that I know a few families in JA have done for their loved ones and that is sacrificing their time to a house project . As the house was in progress of being erected. the family's took turns periodically each year with their input in helping out, until the work was complete.
Bless up Jay Progress when I used to send barrels to sell, I reached down when barrel got there and sold my own goods. I don’t send barrels anymore. Ungrateful gets nothing from me ever again☮️❤️
Jay progress I can attest to all you said I and my wife pack two barrels for school graduation goods and believe me when we go down to Jamaica 🇯🇲 to collect our portion of money every thing sell off and not even one red cent we didn’t get so I can attest to all you’re saying true
Bwoy as I get older I realize how destructive people pleasing is! Yuh have to have a limit and stay there cause people sometimes feel so entitled to pushing it!
This is a tale as old as time at this point. Too many examples to be ignored. Jamaicans abroad need to lose this starry eyed view of Jamaica and of Jamaicans "back home", relatives, friends or strangers. People are people. They must take a more realistic and wise view of their own situation and the situation here in Jamaica. That 60s, 70s and 80s mindset needs adjustment. We arent living in those times. Entitlement, lack of gratitude and "bad mind" are the order of the day. Smdh...
My cousin, told me he was going to embark on a business venture, and wanted some money to start; when I told him that I would put the money in and we'll sign a 60/40 contract (60 to me) and after he had paid his 50% back, we'd enter a 50/50 agreement--the business never materializes; suddenly he no longer saw that venture as profitable
I'm from 🇹🇹 and my cousin did the same thing. He bought one big brand new truck and had a head on collision. Unfortunately, the other driver did not live....smh. Never, ever again!
My mother from St Elizabeth sent 23 barrels in 12 years period to her sister and 500.000 for savings in Jamaican dollars ....just before she went home after 25 yrs in the uk her sister put the empty barrels outside with whatever they did not want and the bank book was empty. After she reached Jamaica she found out the lifestyle they were living.it broke my mother bad.
My mother use to send money to her mother in Jamaica to build two room kitchen and bathroom as far as I know my mother was sending money from the 1970s I came to the UK in the 1960s when my mother went to Jamaica after living in rhe UK for over 20 years to see her mother and the house that she was building my mother end up in Belvue hospital she still had outside kitchen zinc roof on the toilet I see a picture and all now me dont even know where the house is my brother and his wife had to go and bring my mother back to the UK other wise them wasn't going to let my mother out any way I don't know what my granny was doing with the money but it look like the man she was paying to build the house was thiefing her or she was giving it away and she never wanted to come to the UK other wise my mother would have send for her she always use to say she dont like plane and when she was meant to come by boat she never want to come cause it take too long that was many years ago now my granny died in the early 1990s my mum send money to bury her and a lady who my mother use to pay to look after our grandmother took over the house with her husband and finish build it up
One Jay Progress you does make the things make sense because you ah talk truth because it's your own people especially family does bad mind you it's best you go and do your thing yourself.. 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Back in 1987 when I first migrated, I sent $10 for a little boy who's mom I was close to. I t was his birthday. $10 was tough for me at that time but I knew the family had it hard. I was 20 years old, going to school and working part time. She burned the 4 corners of the $10 and send it back to me, telling me not to sorry for her child. I was shocked. I understand that it was not enough. I never sent him money again.
I’m grateful that my family isn’t like that they all can’t wait for the stuff I’m sending my biggest disappointment is how much fees they charged at the wharf it’s ridiculous. Every year I say it’s the last time I go back on my word because I’m thinking about families. Why though ??? My African friends only pay to ship no other fees only if it’s a car.
Where are some of us, morals, standards, and hearts? Well, I can tell you 1 thing, I would never do anything like that unless I'm setting someone up to start a thing and not expect anything in return. Because it will always go like that smh
The niece’s mother can’t be innocent in this situation especially if they live in the same house. You’re telling me her daughter isn’t working and she and her boyfriend are dressing in name brand clothes and mother isn’t asking any questions? Liar!🤥 Mother is involved in the ripoff.
Jayy , I think we are the ones that spoil them from the beginning, I can speak for myself, when I left Jamaica and remember how we were struggling, I never turned my back on my family,so I was sending barrels and paying to pick it up and money to take it home, for lots of years, then I had 3 surgeries back to back, I have 2 barrels sitting in the house you think I can send it and don’t have the money to send to clear it? But when I do I already made up my mind this is it.
My cousin's boyfriend did that with his brother, bought a car for him to run a taxi service for them both. The brother used it to run drugs and disappeared and when my cousin and her boyfriend went down the police seized the car.
Remember in the 80’sI send a Barrel to a cousin and he call it monkey Barrel, he never got another, during the pandemic my mom beg me to send one, the Social Media and scamming spoiled them That’s why they don’t want to work, a time is coming where we all are going to experience a rude awakening.
I stop sending money and barrels to Jamaica because they don’t realize how much it cost to pack and ship barrels and they don’t appreciate the things we send they treat it as if we pick them up at the street side or collect food at food banks. I buy things with my hard working money and not from food stamps. Most of them are ungrateful too.
Same thing happen to me. Sold all my stuff and stole all my money. Kept even the items she asked for as pay. I was young and ambitious and wanted so much. I was sick and getting worst so knew I had to do more than just go to work as this thing progressed in my body. These type of criminals do not believe they did anything wrong. In my case she stopped talking to me and refuse to even acknowledge me or say hello. She has never spoken to me about my money and still does not talk to me. Neither does her husband who was her boyfriend while she stole my money. That was over 30 years ago,. Some people believe God forgets.
Ungrateful people are just ungrateful. 😢 Haitian people are the same way! Never care how you do it! Just figure it out and send it and what you send, is never enough😢! Why are we like this?
This is caused by the false impression that people give to show off, well i am so glad my family And friends now are old and appreciate what i have to give, me cannot deal with the name brand people, i buy what looks nice not name brand , what's wrong with black and poor. people with this "Name brand ". You don't look any better than anyone else so i still send barrel to who appreciate what i send as all year they are still telling me thanks
It's not only Jamaica my brother it the whole Caribbean I'm from Guyana 🇬🇾 and I had the same experience with my people too I don't I don't wear it in America you don't wear it if I don't eat it you don't eat it me too brother
The ULTIMATE betrayal here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s sooooooooooooo EXTREMELY sad when you try your HARDEST to help your family member/friend, & they turn on you in the MOST SICKENING, DISGUSTING & DISTURBING way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it’s quite good that folks are now WAKING up to this kind of malady which is great.
It is same here in USA even sending something to relatives in USA. They only call you when they want something or ungrateful for gifts.
True talk JP. Cant trust noone not even family
So true them too ungrateful, and they don’t even know what people are going through.
Most of our Islands you can't trust anyone when it comes to money and belongings when will we learn but the stories they tell sometimes touch our hearts

Bwoy JP , I don’t know how you know all these things you must have ESP , every thing you said about the barrel is the God Heaven Truth.wow 😮
Yup! They don’t care. As soon as they say thank you they are asking for more.
Big up yourself Jayy , I agree with you 💯.
It's not only Jamaica some one told me about her own story with her sister in Trinidad, same shit
True. Absolutely true. I think it’s the mindset of these Caribbean folks. That’s all they know 🤷🏾♀️
Black people are our own biggest hater and biggest supporter to support so they can judge

Bwoy as I get older I realize how destructive people pleasing is! Yuh have to have a limit and stay there cause people sometimes feel so entitled to pushing it!

We must follow the Bible principles the guidance is there
The WORST thing 💯 anyone could do is to help families or friends in Jamaica they do not care about you they only care about what you can give them.
This is caused by the false impression that people give to show off, well i am so glad my family And friends now are old and appreciate what i have to give, me cannot deal with the name brand people, i buy what looks nice not name brand , what's wrong with black and poor. people with this "Name brand ".
