8:10 is just real talk bruh. You have my respect. I'm still young, and I've been buying sneakers for resale. For example, I bought the sneaker for 700 dollars, but the price is actually just 200 dollars. I've been too inpatient and did not care about the prices or think about them. That's why I'm trying to change and be wiser. 🙏
Great video, especially that first rule you said. I’ve only been collecting 3-4 yrs and in the beginning I was influenced by hype, but I got smarter along the way. All your rules made sense, people are so easily influenced by hype.
Thanks for the tips. I'm 13 years old and I've been looking at shoes that are affordable because my parents tell me to buy each sneaker myself. I umpire little league games to do that so thank you for the awesome tips!
I'm in my 40s and started "collecting" shoes this past year. The nice thing starting late is that I have the income to buy almost whatever I like so money is less of an issue. I buy what I like not caring if it's "hype" and have worn every single shoe I own. I do keep them all clean and wipe them down regularly. Currently at about 20 fashion- specific shoes. I do like designer shoes and like finding deals on them (clearances, etc). Seems most RUclips collectors stick to the "hype"stuff like Jordan's, NB, Yeezy, etc. The only shoe I bought that was above retail so far was a Jordan 4 Retro Shimmer because I just really liked the color and material. What I like the most about getting into shoes is channels like yours where I can see the genuine love you have for your collection.
Ive only just started collectong myself and im 32 only got 3 pairs at moment my first pair was the chunky dunks like yourself tho i wear mine i cudnt just leave them on a shelf or in the box
I feel like having all the shoes only shows you can afford it, I've met people that maybe can afford a $200 kick once every 1 or 2 months anf you can really have a conversation about sneakers with thrm... I love that, for me, being a sneakerhead goes further than just buying shoes... like you said, you gotta know what your getting
Feels good to be able to start buying the shoes I’ve always loved but could never get as a kid. Tried to get into collecting a few years back but fell through for awhile but now I’m serious about it and man I love it. Wish I never sold my bred 11s a few years back. Definitely going to be my grail shoe when I can get a hold of some again
DNA u one of the dope people ever not even talking bout kicks just as a person ppl usually try to sell videos like this but i can trll u genuinely a great amazing person
I feel shoes bring out peoples personalities that sounds silly but to me it’s a way to express who I am. A great shoe always makes and feels good. You always get a vibe with shoes because certain shoes stand out to most people. I’m just starting my collection. I appreciate the advice and honesty. I didn’t begin collecting simply because the funds weren’t there so I didn’t become a sneaker head. I felt insecure with myself because I felt like others would judge me based on the shoes I have in my collection. Any advice on what a new sneaker head can do to not burn the wallet but still enjoy the hobby even though sometimes I don’t feel like buying shoes.
I started collecting in my early 30s. I just remembered one day that I used to get bullied non stop because my family couldn't afford to get me good shoes. I forgive them, but it convinced me to start collecting.
You are absolutely right I like the Air Jordan 4 University Blues And I asked my family if they like them They said they look bad and I don’t really care what they say It’s honestly your choice to get what you want Not everyone will agree with you It’s like saying Cookies and Cream ice cream is better than vanilla
I’m late to this video and I’m not gonna say I’m an advanced sneakerhead or anything I just like collecting shoes. The most relatable thing you say in this video is don’t try to buy every release. As tempting as it is to watch videos online of ppl owning the new shoe that’s coming out and seeing how nice it is and how you need it, you don’t need it. I used to go after almost every Jordan release and it drained me of my money that I could have spent on a release or shoe I would of REALLY wanted. I remember I was tempted to cop the Stealth 12s but now I’m glad I didn’t get em cuz I probably wouldn’t of ever worn em. Also gotta agree with you on the be proud of your collection even if it’s only 2 shoes. It’s better to have a small collection of shoes you like and would wear than a big collection of only 2/3 shoes you actually like and wear. Just some opinions from me.
I've always liked sneakers, from ball shoes to casuals to skate shoes to futsal shoes... I'm finally starting a collection, I'm also using it as a tool to stay sober....as I've always struggled with addiction for a good portion of my life... I've always had a rotation of shoes but never collected, the other day I ordered some "white purple" air max plus from champs website on clearance for 129 CAN.. I bought them cuz I liked the colorway since it remined me of the nostalgic solo jazz cup... when I got home I researched the colorway some more and learned theyre actually tuned grape white ice, didn't realize they were nikes grape treatment for the air max plus which was a nice surprise, A lot of youtube videos have been telling me "today sales , tomorrows grails" and its rumored the hyper Blues are set to re release next spring.. hoping that will bring hype to the air max plus in general since its not so popular in the west.. I might put these away till next spring i dunno, what do u guys think of my first accidental collector buy? btw love your vids!! i sub
Just rewatching from after 2 years I was 13 and only 2 pairs of shoes and now I have 12 pairs at 15 and slowly getting more shoes to put in my collection
One of the best pieces of advice here is buying what you like. When I got back into the game and I started RUclips i had so many sneakers that I wasnt even wearing. I have gotten rid of alot of those and downsized to get the bigger releases I really wanted like Off whites Concord 11s and just recently the Yeezy Breds etc. You don't have to keep or buy stuff just because the people around you have them.
Thank's for the amazing tips. I am a 11 year old trying to get into the sneakerhead business. I only have one pair of good shoes, which are custom AF1s, and I'm trying to get AJ1s, Trae young 1s, and MB.01s. This mean't a lot to me. Thank you.
New to the channel, new to the Sneakerhead community. This is by far the BEST & most welcoming Noob vid I've found on actually starting a collection, or for me turning the boxes of J's stacking in my closet into a collection lol. Thank you for the amazing content, stay blessed!
Don’t compare yourself to others especially ppl on Instagram 💯 I stamp dat👌🏾💎 Nvr know what access ppl have or their situation. Do want you can with what you got and you might messed around an create a mean hustle 🤷🏽♂️
I love the sneaker beginners videos because it helps remind me why I got into sneaker and it’s not for the hype but love for everyone of the shoes in my collection
Luv this ive recently restarted my sneaker collection conscience buying- im restricted my collection to varied Nike styles restricted to how many will fit my shoe cabinet lol
