Introduction to GTFS

GTFS, or General Transit Feed Specification, is the only worldwide standardized format for public transit schedule data. It includes the stops, the lines, the schedules, and some other information. This video talks about the basic components of GTFS data and how it relates to maps and the ArcGIS workflows we’ll be talking about in this video series.

We don’t currently have any tools in the core software that support GTFS Realtime, but you can download the GTFS Realtime Connector for GeoEvent Server from arcg.is/1OuWDC. If this doesn’t serve your needs, we’d be interested to learn more about what you’d like to do with GTFS Realtime in ArcGIS.
