I totally get what you're saying! I honestly would like them either way, but just from my own experience I do remember them fraying and not really lasting overtime with play. I think they should really work on finding a good middle ground though
@@brickmasterharri IMO the fig without a waistcape still looks better without a printed waistcape. Anyone that isn’t familiar with Star Wars would never guess in a million years that those printed waistcapes are supposed to represent waistcapes.
Unpopular opinion. I think waist capes should be a cloth piece and at the same time printed. That way if the cloth get damaged u still have the print under it
IMO, I feel like lego star wars fans are never gonna be satisfied. They always find a way to complain abt smth, and tbh, I'm just grateful that we still get clone troopers made.
Yeah, I loved the angry clone heads, they were my absolute favorite. I thought people liked them but as I got more and more online the more I realized how much they complained and didn’t like a lot of things 😅
Dude you are so right I used to watch these videos to decide I if I should get it but now I realized no one it ever satisfied but in my opinion I love the figure
That’s any Star Wars fan with anything Star Wars related these days 😂 but in their defense there is A LOT more bad than good these days with anything Star Wars which is extremely sad to say. What frustrates people is time and time again fans have proven they can deliver exactly what us fans truly want, with very little resources, especially compared Disney who has millions and millions to work with. They have showed the fans that they literally ignore us in so many ways so I don’t blame them for hating almost everything they put out lol.
@@isaacpease-rivera9220 Tbf neither did George Lucas. Considering he made the worst Star Wars movie to this day all on his own accord with 0 interference by others. If for some ungodly reason you think Phantom Menace was a good movie, always remember the same man was also behind the 1978 Holiday Special.
Hate to be toxic, but if you’re 25+ plus throwing a full on tantrum about the placement of helmet holes on a clone trooper. It’s just kinda sad. Sure I like a cool minifigure, but to attack lego designers and employees over a toy as an adult is just wrong. You’re entitled to your opinion, but in this regard some people need to grow up a little bit💀
@@LarryJones-vc3ph I hear you constructive/ criticism in general is okay. I’m not immune to this myself, I purchased 2 Jurassic park anniversary sets while still not agreeing with the price of an $80 set with a tree and car then a $50 with a car and literal poop way too overpriced so in that regard I’m guilty yes
I mean it's literally a miniature building block toy and the minifigs barely pass off as human let alone anything else so I genuinely don't understand what the problem is, yeah printed stuff sucks but at the end of the day it's a kids toy and I could give less of a f about it, all I really care about is what the figure represents, if it passes as captain rex and an army of 501st then in the essence of lego that's all that really matters
Facts. It seems like a lot of fans are ungrateful for what they have. I remember when I was a kid I was thrilled when I could finally afford the updated sand skiff that came with the new version of boba Fett. The fact that printing and Lego molds have come so far as to even include metallic paint to represent his helmet scratches impresses me so much even to this day
Yeah, throwing a tantrum is not mature for adults to be doing. However, it’s fine and normal to criticize a brand where it is due. I would prefer Lego to put the holes in the correct place for the range finder and make a visor that connects in a different place, but they chose to put the helmet holes in the wrong place to save time and money rather than designing new visors. However I still feel like it is a minor thing that I can look over and I’m still enjoying these clones and the cool sets we’re getting them in
For physical stores like Bricks and Minifigs, obviously they’re going to have to price things higher than eBay. They have to pay employees and other things. It’s a physical store. They have to mark it up to make a decent profit.
They also tend to factor shipping costs in to the sets in store, which bumps it up a bit sometimes. Putting that in context, I’m ok most of the time paying that $10/20 markup to be able to walk out of the store with it right away.
I think lego should print waist capes, but also have a physical option too, the physical one covers most if not all of the printed one so I think both sides win
I think people should also realize that not everyone just displays their stuff, there are kids that play with it and thats their target demographic, We have a passion which we choose to show through collecting, some kids actually use them as toys
About to say the same thing. I'd be interested to see the demographics, but I have a funny feeling even if all adults stop buying these sets. There's a good chance that Legos still get enough profit from the younger demographics where us deciding with our wallet probably isn't even a problem for the Company in the end.
There is a case for how lego also gets it bad for play, I personally like to play with my legos (I’m barely an adult don’t bully me) but like a lot of time legos has some really bad things that are meant to be good for play, like new stormtrooper helmets look super ugly and they can’t turn at all, also waist capes look bad just being on the side of the legs and should be cloths not printed, and often the figures crack and break, even without rough play, Also sets don’t come with storage areas for weapons anymore.
@@Thebolfster even for the purpose of display, I can't have any of my mini figures on studs because after a while it caused the feet to crack. I made a moc using a couple of the Mandalorian battle packs (the new one from a few years ago) and the fin on all the speeder bikes are all broken off, even when the only time I ever touched them was to put them on the speeders itself. I still have a clone figure back from 2010 and the worst on him is the crack on the side of the torso. It feels like I have a collection of old Lego brown pieces where if I even look at them, they'll crumble.
@@vikingnfld9478 it’s so annoying how lego cracks even without playing, if lego was “for kids” it wouldn’t crack at all, also I have old lego figures who have been played with an insane amount and they’re fine and without cracks because lego has lowered the quality while increasing price.
Yeah the "It's for kids" excuse is BS if lego was a "kids product" they wouldn't have 1000$ sets lego is just lazy and wants you to accept a lesser lower quality figure and give them more money
What do you mean? Many fans bought only dozen of battlepacks with awful holes instead of three dozens. I mean, I did as well, but that's not a problem for me.
@@dannybrezelhorner2715 Nah, they just know if they won't buy sets now, in few years they'll be paying four times as much for same, used set. "Let's complain about everything and consume everything" should be the slogan of SW community.
I think especially in the Starwars community people are voting a LOT. The sets aren't cheap and people shell out like crazy. There isn't much voting against though :)
People need to learn how to offer constructive criticism instead of bashing. The same message can be conveyed with a respectful delivery rather than immediately crapping on something and complaining. I agree with most of your takes here and also disagree with some of them, but I’m not going to attack you as a person because of it 😂 Then again, this is the internet and unfortunately, no matter how hard we try to have real discussions here, there will always be trolls and complainers. Cant avoid it!
Have you ever seen Lego respond to constructive criticism. People say they want actual cloth pieces, and Lego is yet to listen, but when people argued attacked and bullied Lego we finally got the 501 battle pack. Maybe more people would be kinder to Lego if they actually listened to fans
I personally don’t care too much about the helmet holes, accuracy isn’t an issue for me as long as there clones. (i love clones) My main issue is the waist capes and pauldrons, i’m not a fan of the printed ones i’d much rather pay a little more for cloth capes and pauldrons than to not have them at all
I mean you can spend a lil more on it through bricklink or some other 3rd party resellers. I’m not really a fan of custom clones as I feel like they obsess too much about the detail that it just looks uncanny next to other clones, but I’ve spent about 10 dollars on GCC for some kamas and am thinking about getting non helmet hole versions for the 212th only for the forehead print. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the kamas and option to have them with or without
@@Sashin-d8t in what way is this greedy for Lego?? They’re not the ones selling Kama add ons, or helmetless holes. What? So they standardize pieces big whoop. My only suggestion is if you don’t like the minifigure go after market and fix it for $5. If you don’t feel inclined to do that and nope that your Lego minififig is only 80% accurate then live with the helmet holes.
@@MrElmo54321 Why should I pay cause Lego can’t be asked to spend 5 cents on a piece of cloth. They used to do it back in 2012, why can’t they do it know? Yea they are being greedy
Harri, thank you for addressing this. This is a trend(s) I’m starting to see more and more of and it’s sad. While some (not all) of the criticisms might justified, it’s important everyone have and form their OWN opinions. Not everyone is always going to agree and that’s alright. I like to think that somewhere in that gray area new ideas are born. As for Bricks n Minifigs, my city is finally getting their first store and I’m anxious to check it out. I’m still amazed at how some people don’t understand how a business works though. SMH. As for LAN, I think people need to understand what the definition of an “Ambassador” is. I’m sure the program isn’t perfectly run but understand it isn’t a legion of cult followers either like some make it out to be.
Yea that's important to get across that all opinions should be talked about, good and bad, but it's important for them to be justified. I'm stoked you're getting a BAM soon you're gonna love it! I also agree where LAN or it's members are not perfect, but I'll give it props for being open to the community and providing a pretty decent way of communication between everyone in the community
People do understand how businesses work, but that means we should just accept blatantly being ripped off? That's insane. People only go there bc they don't realize they can find what they want for cheaper online if they would just shop around a bit. At the end of the day, it's their money and their choice, but it's still retarded. Much like your comment.
@@GrantGraffI love his videos. They pressure Lego into making a better cheaper product so I don’t have to complain. If it is forcing Lego to be better I won’t stop it
Lego is always been the center of 3 main groups: 1) The dedicated fans 2) The ppl who sometimes buy stuff but are worried about prices 3) The haters. No matter what u do or say about Lego the will say smth negativ. Personally im 1 and will always be (granted my wallet is crying) so my opinion definitely isnt impartial. I watched a RUclipsr a while back (not gonna say his name) that grew big with lego had his own shop and everything but the last few years hes been constantly stomping on Lego and what they stand for. In conclusion. There is constructive feedback and then there is hate.
I think that everyone should buy the sets they enjoy, no matter what anybody else thinks. There have been sets that people say were terrible, though I enjoyed them. This fanbase/community is pretty negative :(
True that! I don't think everyone is negative in the community, but I'm starting to see a lot more people bash on others for not sharing similar opinions
you are trippin if you think star wars has better attention to detail than other licensed themes, UCS star wars sets regularly have no interior detail or any references to movies or series. only real exceptions are the razor crest and ATAT, and those are two of the more expensive Lego sets available. @@Dummy_israndom
@@Dummy_israndomExactly! I’m sick of Star Wars fans complaining, “This is good but it’s only 95% accurate, so since it could be better I hate Lego’s design. They must really hate their fans for not making it as accurate as it could have been.”
Lego should give the fans and customers what they want. Their reasoning for no longer using fabric waist capes just sounds like total BS. There are quite a few things that the vast majority of customers agree and ask for.
My first action whenever I DON'T want LEGO to continue making a LEGO Star Wars set is to immediately purchase it DAY ONE! That will show LEGO that I don't actually like it and they should make better sets.
I get waistcapes if they want the characters to be able to sit, but otherwise waist capes should be mandatory. They make a figure so much better. Compare the 2014 snow troopers to the newest ones. Those ones have much more depth to them as a figure
Lego: we don't give fabric waistcapes because they wear down with play Also lego: Releases massive 600$ venator without a single play feature Seriously that excuse holds no water they're lying
3:05 it won't matter if I vote with my wallet this company is too big to fail, my vote won't change the hordes of mindless shills who blindly support this company because it brought them joy as a kid
I actually really like Bricks and Minifigs. Most of the time the prices are pretty high, but they've done the work by having it in a store where you easily inspect and buy it. Selling for cash isn't always the best, but I've had a great experience trading in tons of little sets that wouldn't sell online. I ended up with the exact amount of credit for a complete Phantom 2 set with Thrawn and Kanan. Never thought I'd be able to have Thrawn in my collection, but thanks to Bricks and Minifigs Cherry Hill, I do now.
Ngl their figure prices suck, but their used set prices are pretty good, recently got a complete x wing and tie fighter (most recent ones) for $35 total (no figures). Also got an atst (no figures) for $20
If your in the area, I've found that the Atlanta Brick company always has great prices and a wide selection of minifigs and sets. I've bought things like geonosians and Nute Gun Ray for only $10 dollars a piece.
Well as for waist capes, prints can still show wear over time like many old figs do. Another thing, I can’t say they visually make the figure worse, since the printed ones are barely even noticeable or recognizable as what they’re meant to be at all, to the point where there may as well just be no waist cape at all. They don’t have problems continuing to find ways to make actual capes, so they could absolutely find better ways to do physical waist capes.
I was looking at the minifigs and a guy was next to me who was buying a sith infiltrator. He asked why it was more expensive than it should be. The guy at the counter said ‘I have to keep the lights on somehow’
I appreciate your insightful take on the B&M chain! I love this shop precisely for the time component. I frequently sell from my collection on Bricklink, which gives me far more profit, but it takes TIME, plus those sets still eat up storage space while I wait for buyers. I know what I'm getting with B&M (I'm friends with one of the employees) and thus, I often only trade bulk or unsold inventory from my shop. It's a nice way to slim things down. Plus there's also a time advantage in going there- sure, I might spend anywhere from $5-15 more than I would sourcing the same parts or figs on BL, but you know what? Sometimes, it's just better to walk in and GET the stuff I want rather than wait 2 weeks for it to come in the mail slightly cheaper. It's all a sliding scale, and as both a consumer, collector, and reseller, I feel it's important for everyone to make INFORMED decisions. Thanks always for your well-rounded content, Harri!
I don’t think they are printing them on because they want to be premium. Cloth ones were fine. I have had the same cloth ones for many years and they haven’t frayed. Imo I think they are just being greedy.
Thank you for the nuanced discussion. Not to entirely agree with the detractors, online, but I see where people might be coming from if they are paying premium prices and receiving products that are below that standard. What hurts Lego as a company is when they make decisions to reduce costs and therefore quality, but still charge high prices. There’s gotta be an upper limit somewhere to what people are willing to pay, but I’d rather that Lego take the time to keep their quality standards up to what we all know they can be. And here by quality I’m not just talking about Minifigure design. Inconsistencies in the colors of parts, difficult to use clear back stickers, and especially poor color matching of stickers with other pieces in EXPENSIVE sets. Those things shouldn’t happen for the prices Lego charges.
mans really being jangbricks part 2, just lego appreciation content and positivity, which is a very much appreciated change compared to many other current lego content creators
I don’t think he calls out Lego enough. Like you don’t have to criticise them all the time but with the printed kamas it was kinda obvious that they just did it to save money. If they really did want to solve the issue of fraying they would have A made stronger cloth or B at least done a 360 degrees print
Just wanted to say your a great inspiration to me as a new Lego Star Wars content creator and I agree a hundred percent, it would be nice to go on RUclips to watch some Lego Star Wars videos and not have to find videos talking about what’s wrong with Lego Star Wars.I wish people would just enjoy this awesome franchise, that created, what was once a great community. But like you said everyone has their own opinion. And by the way it’s great to see another Lego content creator enjoying going to Bricks and Minifigs as much as I do.
Thanks so much for the comment man! Yea.. I do believe the people who spend more time talking bad about Star Wars really are trying to do more positive for it than bad, but it can get confusing to their followers and others who watch their videos especially if they're new to LSW. I would hate for someone to want to get into the theme, but the first video they see is how it needs to change in various ways and be better. It's totally justifiable to have that opinion, but I think it's important to highlight the positives of it all too. Appreciate hearing your thoughts and I'll definitely subscribe to your channel!
Or with as much hate for these clone lego could really say oh you don’t like clone troopers ok we won’t make them as much anymore because y’all don’t like these. And that’s business and that’s what’s more likely gonna happen thanks to these complaining YT’s who only complain for “accuracy” so just saying if clones go away for some time that could be the case why it happens
I have an idea, it would cost a lot more but… make the clones have dual molded legs, cuz then they could make the top part black like the waist cape, and make the bottom white where there isn’t any, the biggest problem with this is that then the print on the middle part of the legs where there is no waist cape even on top will be less solid and more transparent like what happened with commander fox, but other than that and the price, this is a perfect solution in my opinion
I'm honestly really getting fed up. I basically can't see any Lego SW content without some chronically online guy vomiting acid in the comments. And I would like to see those posts, they just don't feel like fun anymore. I value and understand criticism, but more often than not ignorance would be the way to go. Just don't buy, Lego will feel it. They don't feel the comments, but the community does and get dragged down by them
Great video Harri! we all have our own opinions on the designs that Lego has gone with but some people don’t know how to handle others opinions when they are different. some of those hate comments are insane too
Exactly! It’s videos like this why I really enjoy your channel. You offer valid criticism the Lego Star Wars instead of bashing Lego whenever stuff could be more accurate like MandR & LifeBricks do. I’m sick of Star Wars fans complaining, “This is good but it’s only 95% accurate, so since it could be better I hate Lego’s design. They must really hate their fans for not making it as accurate as it could have been.” I’m personally interested in Lego Star Wars as a theme because I like the unique designs they have for minifigures as well as sets I wouldn’t see from any other theme. I couldn’t care less if it’s 100% accurate to the source material because I don’t really care about the source material.
I agree. if you want 100% screen accurate, buy an action figure or something marketed as screen accurate. Honestly people should be glad we are not stuck with the 1999 designs. Modern SW is accurate for what it is.
Hari I don’t think people complaining about obvious flaws with the Lego brand is a bad thing. The company isn’t just doing what your video covered. The amount of Star Wars play sets being reduced, minfig detail getting better than worse, and Lego raising their prices on sets that would cost 10$ back in the day. The 501st battle pack. When you mentioned it I would hope that you acknowledged the issue of raising the price 5$. This was done for no other reason than boosting profit. If you think Legos business would have had any issues selling it for 20, you’re lying to yourself. They’re a billion dollar company. The truth is hari I think the community is in the good space. Let the hate be loud! Otherwise Lego won’t hear it. That’s what you’re missing. If the amount of people speaking out on these issues were reduced by a factor of 4 or even 3? It wouldn’t get talked about NEARLY as much. I don’t think in the interest of kindness we should let Lego get away with sketchy business practices. But hey, that’s just me.
I agree that too many people act like drones with their Lego Star Wars opinions, but saying “vote with your wallet” doesn’t do anything. You can only “Vote” in that way by buying things you want, and if Lego sells a battle pack I want, but I want a waist cape, I’m buying the battle pack and a third party waist cape because there’s no official Lego waist cape for the clones. I could “vote” by buying off brand instead, but this doesn’t affect Lego, the largest toy manufacturer in the world. My issue is less that every set release isn’t perfect, and more that releases for their other themes (like HP) tend to have better figs and value at different price points. Why can’t Lego Star Wars, one of their most popular themes, have the same dedication? Just sayin
So the closest "Bricks & Minifigs" store to my house is about an hours drive away, but my local flea market has a shop called Bricks & Minifigures" and its exactly how you would imagine a knockoff "Bricks & Minifigs" place to be lol. First off, theyre surprisingly very open about the fact that they technically dont sell any Lego products, but on top of that, they dont even sell any fake or bootleg sets. They only sell fake and bootleg minifigs, fake minifig accessories, and for a few bucks theyll turn the minifig into a keychain. All their fake minfigs (unofficial minifigs that were made as a copy of an official Lego minifig design) were really bad, but most of their bootlegs (unofficial minifigs made with custom designs and not copying Lego's) arent too shabby. Both are the same cheaper plastic, but it seems like they put much more time and effort into the molding and prints of their bootlegs than with their fakes. Their fake clone troopers have what i call phase 1.5 helmets, cause it looks like they might've accidentally meshed together the designs of the phase 1 and 2 helmets, and once the helmets were done, they threw them into a dishwasher a few times lol
I actually put the helmet holes in the "correct" position on a spare P2 helmet and a visor and set of macrobinoculars didn't sit right. I'm glad LEGO put them where they did.
One thing I don't get with waist capes is, why not both? Include a cape in the kit, and print the legs too. There is no way it's 'too expensive'. These pieces cost less than a penny to produce, and the sets will sell better, because both sides get what they want. They are legos. You can choose if you put it on or not.
Nah people have been telling Lego that they should make the republic dropship with at-ot for years but when fans bully and harass Lego they actually made the 501 battle pack it would probably help if Lego actually listened
I wish days were like they were, I recently visited BAM Riverside and they had my childhood Lego Star Wars sets like Jedi duel and others, it really made me sad and nostalgic that Lego isn’t what they used to be. I understand some of the decisions they make are to maximize profits but they don’t have to give in to fan base complaining about little things, and sometimes when they ignore people like that, it helps them. Days were much more simple😢 Nice light setup btw
Oh no way I wanted to head ever there to check out the same set! I feel ya man. Thanks for the compliment on the lights and thanks for the early comment!
BAM is basically a pawn shop for a specific thing. I personally like the waist capes and if I really wanted to I could make or buy others but I just don't care that much. And also the pin holes are for making dif clones if you want. And if you don't like how a fig looks, there's 3rd parties you can buy from.
Man there’s something about this video that really makes me want to engage in a discussion, there’s so much cool and interesting stuff to talk about that you mention 😅
I think part of the frustration is Lego “deception.” Where renderings and pictures are enhanced to hide things. An example might be the helmet holes. Another example are the printed plaques for ucs sets where they edit out the mold marks in the center plate, to make images better. Someone opens up to to negative surprise. What about the sh*t coloration of white on the clones on the new gun ship. Lego could have fixed that so it’s actually white and not pink, but that would have cost them profit, on a set that’s already smaller, and more expensive. They’re a business, in the business of making money. They will take short cuts wherever they can.
They dont "edit out" the mold marks, most of the product images are literally renders and not real models. And the renders honestly still are pretty bad to this day. Not really any better than they were back in 2008.
Yeah I don’t think they got rid of waist capes for fans. If they did, they would have done a 360 print. It’s funny how the designers can create literal art but then it gets ruined cause they didn’t want to spend 10 cents including a waistcoat in their battle pack
2:39 Same can be said about prints (whilst looking worse). With play, they can also get scratch up. I don't see how that is a valid reason to be honest.
i agree, i think some people are too negative, just one thing to say, i dont want printed waist cloths, they don't look good and are easily misable, if they did 360 degree printing like you said it would be great, (i dont really care about helmet holes)
I don't mind the helmet holes, but I do think for characters like Cody and Vaughn, it's in the correct place where as figures like Rex and Fives should be placed in the correct place lower down
They had plastic pauldrons and waist capes that were really good during the clone wars. Lego deserves to be called out for shorting the consumer while charging more
How are you so based and rational, it's so incredible. To actually constructive comment, I've had all 3 waistcapes, printed are ok, the cloth ones got really used overtime since 2012 and 2014, but the one I love the most is the plastic one, while it restricts movement from legs, it doesn't damage as easily and I thing it looks really good, both with and without the plastic pauldron. Fetched myself a set of pretty new ones and threw them on p1 clone commander with the 501st battlepack macrobinocullars for a nice p1 Bly minifig
I think that negativity comes with the fact that we are paying much higher prices for lower quality It’s a shame nothing is ever good enough between the community and Lego because there are some really fantastic sets and designs I wish there are more efforts to target specific things we are unhappy about (Commander Fox last year is UNACCEPTABLE) I just keep coming back to… “no one hates Lego Star Wars more than the people *always* buying it” 💀
That's kind of the feeling I've had. I still get some sets, but I've lost interest in a lot of things from LSW because of the higher cost and lower quality. It felt like since the Gunship drama, there's been a decline and disconnect between Lego and the community. It also feels weird that this quality control happens to have issues around mostly Prequel sets. I know most LSW fans grew up around the Prequels and Lego Prequel fans are usually the most vocal, but I feel like it'd be a big win if they were able to get some of these things perfect. Lately if I'm buying Lego, it's usually the newer Castle stuff because the price is too good and the quantity and quality feels great. Hopefully LSW can turn things around so that there's more positivity in the community, but I don't fault the negativity.
I think LEGO really do needs critiscism from fans. For example I love current AT-TE, but if longevity of a product is at stake, why not print crucial elements like symbol or The Grand Army of th Republic? Stickers are overall worse but it just seems like they use them more and more even in more pricey sets just becouse they are cheaper.
Maybe it is just my suggested, but I fell as if clone issues are in every Lego videoI watch, even if it shouldn’t relate to them. I understand people have issues, but the frequency of these complaints are ridiculous and it began to actively drain my enjoyment of Lego Star Wars over the last couple years. I waited years to get the sets/characters we’ve been getting since 2020 and it hurts to finally see if come to fruition while being ruined by small things.
You actually convinced me on the Waist capes. We need to understand that while they sets for adults and adults use the kid sets, they are still KIDS SETS. They have to cover their bases and making sure the playability is still viable over the years is what is important. Or one of the more important things. If you make customs or want higher end figures or make them look more realistic for the sake of your moc/collection, go to a private seller who specializes in those things.
It’s kinda obvious that they did it to cut costs, and even if kids can’t use the capes, just do both printing and capes, so the fans can actually have nice minifigures
2:54. 100% both of these points are spot on. People will watch someone like Mandr complain about something then they’ll make his opinion their opinion, and then they’ll still go out and buy the set. Like what? If you don’t like it, let other people buy it.
After you defended your reasoning about people hating on your opinion, I’m not sure how to say this, but there is no reason we should not have cloth waist capes. No reason it’s just LEGO being cheap. And the helmets do look terrible.
I can get why some people are mad about the waist capes but honestly, I don't care. The printed waist capes may not be optimal, but they could also be way worse. And don't even get me started in the helmet holes. Fans wanted antennas and visors on clone helmets so lego gave us that and people were still mad, even though it's the best solution. It's honestly ridiculous to see adults blowing up over a toy because its not the way they want when they're designed for children
I actually dont mind the helmet holes lol. I mainly use the official clone minifigs in like backgrounds or as space filler for mocs anyway cause I built up most of my clone army with 360 printed customs cause they look so much better than the official ones lol. But since i keep the official minifigs in the background, the attachments for the helmet holes actually work pretty well in terms of making some of those background troops look slightly more unique without pulling too much focus towards them. Like ill put the Lego visors on a few background troops to make look like heavies or scout or whatever, and i use the lego antenna for like pilots or a tooper trying to call for back up. So ya, the helmet holes arent that bad if like 90% of your army is customs and you keep the helmet holes away from the main focus lol
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS, this whole idea of "everyone has to have the same opinion" is so dumb, personally, I think the helmet holes aren't bad, they can look silly but aren't bad. I wish we got more waist capes rather than printed ones but hey, I get why lego does it. Thank you for addressing this problem of negativity in the lego star wars community
Helmet holes make visors and clone troopers without helmets look really weird. They should just create a different mould for visors and keep the old one for normal clones
To heck with all the drama. People should just enjoy what they like, ignore what they don't like, and just have fun. There will always be something that some people like and others won't like in almost everything, so just live and let live.
One thing i don't get from youtubers like mandr is them complaining about the design of certain sets, cuz the designers just give you the base idea, its up to you to make your own modifications the way you like it.
Brother, it’s the designer’s job to make the set as good as it can be, it shouldn’t have to be down to the consumer to fix the mistakes of the person who is payed to make sure these mistakes don’t exist
I feel like Lego Star Wars fans are exactly like the majority of Star Wars fans. If anyone disagrees with them, they get hate. I don't like the printed waist cape, I don't mind the helmet holes. In terms of clone troopers, I'm glad we're getting more. I don't mind inaccuracies because I know I can buy a custom Minifig. Lego Star Wars fans need to be grateful for what they have.
Tbh i just appreciate what we get, recently got into clone wars so it's better to have imperfect clones than having to buy second hand retired clones. The only problem is how Lego price their sets, got at-te for 100$ which is perfect price for it, but having to pay 140$ for a gunship is a little too much. I'll have to wait for May the 4th for gwp droid battle pack to make it worth.
Nah 2020 was peak with the 501 battle pack and if u wanted phase 1 clones they were like 3 pounds each and the helmets were perfect, while now they are just ok
Lego wanting to be a premium product with waist capes is understandable. But.... At least print them on the sides of the legs as well. If they have to go this route. I will never see Lego as Premium Product as long as it'll be skimping on prints. Commander Fox, and his pink armour is best example.
Sorry but I have to disagree if they really wanted to make a premium product for the higher prices we are paying now they would have made a better cloth design
@@Sashin-d8t Eh, i can see Lego's reasoning for not including them. I disagree, but I can see the reason. And printing sounds like a good alternative. Also, no one is complaining about snow troopers not having cloth Kamas, so that's just an example of people complaining because they miss something, not because they want accuracy. I would prefer if we were to get both Kamas and printing with side printing tho.
@@nihili4196 It’s because it’s a lot less noticeable on snow troopers, and printing on kamas is a bit like printing the clone troopers whole helmet onto the Lego face. Lego is just being cheap and greedy. If they really did want to stop the cloths because they were fraying they would create stronger cloths or at least do 360 degrees printing, but I can agree Lego is not a premium product
Harri I think it’s ridiculous that people who think the helmets are bad and we asked for them to have holes. I really think Lego should do something we asked for but don’t change it if the community spilts into two. Even with the Kamas the community literally plays with 95% or more characters and it can break. I had a fake Captain Rex and his Kama broke within 20 seconds of being played with
Why are people being mad about helmet holes because I think the helmet holes at a thickness to the mini figure and I actually like that thickness so I think LEGO should keep them
They're so childish your dislike rate is quite high. They just don't want to change opinions or think for two minutes, and for that it's not worth listening them.
I think he is good at complimenting Lego but when they make a mistake maybe he feels pressured that he is an ambassador or smthn but he finds it hard to call them out on it like the waist capes and to an extent helmet holes. Still got a like from me tho. I would say he is probably a little less good than Ryan
Waistcapes should NOT be printed. I'm OK with everything else.
Same
Yes I agree, there is no good explanation for printed waist capes
I totally get what you're saying! I honestly would like them either way, but just from my own experience I do remember them fraying and not really lasting overtime with play. I think they should really work on finding a good middle ground though
@brickmasterharri that makes sense, but Lego uses waist capes in other themes! So if they really get damaged easily, why doesn't Lego re design them
@@brickmasterharri IMO the fig without a waistcape still looks better without a printed waistcape. Anyone that isn’t familiar with Star Wars would never guess in a million years that those printed waistcapes are supposed to represent waistcapes.
Unpopular opinion. I think waist capes should be a cloth piece and at the same time printed. That way if the cloth get damaged u still have the print under it
Oh I never even thought of that 🤔

IMO, I feel like lego star wars fans are never gonna be satisfied. They always find a way to complain abt smth, and tbh, I'm just grateful that we still get clone troopers made.
Yeah, I loved the angry clone heads, they were my absolute favorite. I thought people liked them but as I got more and more online the more I realized how much they complained and didn’t like a lot of things 😅
Dude you are so right I used to watch these videos to decide I if I should get it but now I realized no one it ever satisfied but in my opinion I love the figure
I mean no kind of Star Wars fan is ever happy 😂
However I still feel like it is a minor thing that I can look over and I’m still enjoying these clones and the cool sets we’re getting them in
@@collinge7352I don’t really like to do it but when other people complain I think it isn’t actually that bad as long as it gives me a better product
I think lego should print waist capes, but also have a physical option too, the physical one covers most if not all of the printed one so I think both sides win
would also be nice for when I eventually lose the waist cape
Lego will print the back on figures with capes that cover it completely. There's no reason why they can't do this as well
@@Daft_VaderIt costs like 5 extra cents to include a waist ape. It doesn’t even need any details

I think people should also realize that not everyone just displays their stuff, there are kids that play with it and thats their target demographic,
We have a passion which we choose to show through collecting, some kids actually use them as toys
@@vikingnfld9478 it’s so annoying how lego cracks even without playing, if lego was “for kids” it wouldn’t crack at all, also I have old lego figures who have been played with an insane amount and they’re fine and without cracks because lego has lowered the quality while increasing price.
liking printed waist capes is definitely a choice💀

Have you ever seen Lego respond to constructive criticism. People say they want actual cloth pieces, and Lego is yet to listen, but when people argued attacked and bullied Lego we finally got the 501 battle pack. Maybe more people would be kinder to Lego if they actually listened to fans
I think if lego did a 360 degree rinting on waistcapes people would like them more.
The only official 360 prining I'm fine with.

Harri, thank you for addressing this. This is a trend(s) I’m starting to see more and more of and it’s sad. While some (not all) of the criticisms might justified, it’s important everyone have and form their OWN opinions. Not everyone is always going to agree and that’s alright. 3) The haters. No matter what u do or say about Lego the will say smth negativ.
Personally im 1 and will always be (granted my wallet is crying) so my opinion definitely isnt impartial. My first action whenever I DON'T want LEGO to continue making a LEGO Star Wars set is to immediately purchase it DAY ONE! That will show LEGO that I don't actually like it and they should make better sets.
The helmet holes being where they are is 100% accurate for characters with visors. And Lego isn’t going to make multiple molds.
I get waistcapes if they want the characters to be able to sit, but otherwise waist capes should be mandatory. They make a figure so much better. Compare the 2014 snow troopers to the newest ones. Those ones have much more depth to them as a figure
Lego: we don't give fabric waistcapes because they wear down with play

I actually really like Bricks and Minifigs. Most of the time the prices are pretty high, but they've done the work by having it in a store where you easily inspect and buy it. Selling for cash isn't always the best, but I've had a great experience trading in tons of little sets that wouldn't sell online. I ended up with the exact amount of credit for a complete Phantom 2 set with Thrawn and Kanan. Never thought I'd be able to have Thrawn in my collection, but thanks to Bricks and Minifigs Cherry Hill, I do now.
I sold mine along with all my Legos of 2010-2022 for 50 usd foolishly now I'm stuck with the new overpriced stuff
This is a real problem lol
Ngl their figure prices suck, but their used set prices are pretty good, recently got a complete x wing and tie fighter (most recent ones) for $35 total (no figures). Also got an atst (no figures) for $20
If your in the area, I've found that the Atlanta Brick company always has great prices and a wide selection of minifigs and sets.
I've bought things like geonosians and Nute Gun Ray for only $10 dollars a piece.
“That would be bad for business, and sales”
That’s like saying “that would be bad for money, and money.”
The guy at the counter said
‘I have to keep the lights on somehow’

I totally get what you're saying and you have some great points! Love how you worded it too because there can be good discussion to follow

I don’t think he calls out Lego enough. Like you don’t have to criticise them all the time but with the printed kamas it was kinda obvious that they just did it to save money. If they really did want to solve the issue of fraying they would have A made stronger cloth or B at least done a 360 degrees print
In my opinion the helmet is fine but I agree that waistcapes should not be printed. Still gonna get it tho.

Thanks so much bro! I'm happy to hear you enjoy the channel
But hey, that’s just me.
star wars fans are babies, wish lego would cut star wars so they would all go collect action figures like they want to be doing.
I love it when people make negative comments and clearly don't understand a business model of a resale/pawn store or shop.
I don't mind helmet holes. But printed capes is dumb asf.
Constructive criticism can improve a product, hating for clout does not.
Days were much more simple😢
Nice light setup btw
Oh no way I wanted to head ever there to check out the same set! I feel ya man. Thanks for the compliment on the lights and thanks for the early comment!
BAM is basically a pawn shop for a specific thing. I personally like the waist capes and if I really wanted to I could make or buy others but I just don't care that much. And also the pin holes are for making dif clones if you want. And if you don't like how a fig looks, there's 3rd parties you can buy from.
I’m happy Lego even makes clones like fox fives and Rex
Plastic waistcapes actually predate the fabric waistcapes. Id take printed over the plastic ones from 2008-2012 any day
im fine with the helmet holes as long as they don’t affect the print quality like on the 212th
Is there not a better alternative material for waist capes so they dont look like shit after a while?
The original material was fine Lego just wanted an excuse to get rid of them
Lego did just drill holes on the side because otherwise they’d have to fully remold by removing/ lifting the bumps
Waistcapes need to be physical attachments. But the helmet holes and especially fives’ helmet in the new tantive set iarwnt terrible
Bro is BOUGHT and PAID for
Fr
I don't think you watched the video
@@brickmasterharriYou aren’t a real RUclipsr if you don’t bully people who disagree with u
They deserve it,… quality has been decreasing for the last 10 years or so
i agree, i think some people are too negative, just one thing to say, i dont want printed waist cloths, they don't look good and are easily misable, if they did 360 degree printing like you said it would be great, (i dont really care about helmet holes)
I think that negativity comes with the fact that we are paying much higher prices for lower quality
It’s a shame nothing is ever good enough between the community and Lego because there are some really fantastic sets and designs
I wish there are more efforts to target specific things we are unhappy about (Commander Fox last year is UNACCEPTABLE)
I just keep coming back to… “no one hates Lego Star Wars more than the people *always* buying it” 💀
That's kind of the feeling I've had. Hopefully LSW can turn things around so that there's more positivity in the community, but I don't fault the negativity.
haha that ending bit is so true
@@brickmasterharriYou cannot call yourself a Lego RUclipsr if you don’t harass and bully people who disagree with you
I think LEGO really do needs critiscism from fans.
For example I love current AT-TE, but if longevity of a product is at stake, why not print crucial elements like symbol or The Grand Army of th Republic? Stickers are overall worse but it just seems like they use them more and more even in more pricey sets just becouse they are cheaper.
In playsets I understand Stickers atleast, but to this day I dont get why they cant just make printed pieces for UCS sets
Please bro tell Lego we need new Lego Scooby doo sets😭😭😭
Imagine begging lego for a 501st battle pack for YEARS just to complain about barely noticable holes on the sides of their helmets
2:54. 100% both of these points are spot on. People will watch someone like Mandr complain about something then they’ll make his opinion their opinion, and then they’ll still go out and buy the set. Like what? If you don’t like it, let other people buy it.
I will never get tired of saying it
"Afol shouldn't have opinions"
And I'm 100% serious
Why can’t Lego spare 5 cents, are they that greedy, do they really need 5 cents from a 20 dollar set.
I just wanted to ask how the Lego ambassador network works and if I could sign up or is it by invite?
All I know is that you need atleast 10,000 subs on RUclips and you need to send in an application to lego
@@Gundamfan24k-wr4mv oh boy I only got 40
About waistcapes, I feel that they should be cloth, but also printed in case you don’t want to use it.
I’ve always wanted the Lego Revan, and thanks to B&M I actually managed to trade loose bulk and old sets for him brand new!
That's epic!
@@nihili4196 I can agree if they adder a little more printing they could look passable
This guy is just the GOAT for lego starters community.
I think that if waistcape prints went around the side of the legs, it would be fine, but
I agree with you I don’t care about the printed waste scapes, and the helmet holes
little late, but i like the holes in helmets cause i have like 30 accessories for clones waiting to be used
I have to definitely agree with your first two opinions about the helmet holes and printed waist capes.
I accept the helmet holes. I do think Lego should make the holes like the phase 1 helmets, but this is what we’ve got to work with.
Nah if people keep complaining for me Lego will probably change them back
If you don't like printed waste capes, then make your own. It's really not that tough, yall
