    Looks amazing, God of hatches. I own a golf R and drove one of these the other day and the golf felt bland and flat. This felt insane and mental. But it felt so good, it made me feel like I was 18. So much emotion in this car. I got back in the golf R and felt 🙁

      Thank you so much Sophie. It surprised me when I first test drove one also, I think people under-estimate them hugely, either because of the brand or because they know what they know and that’s what they’ll stick to which is a shame. These are the kind of car you really have to drive to realise what their about. Golf R’s are awesome but like you say, a little 😕 much like BMW M140’s very quick but just lacking emotion. The difference is, M140’s, Golf R’s, they do the whole package very well and I think that’s because they haven’t allowed performance to take away from everything else the car has to offer, whereas with the N, performance comes first and how ever that effects everything else - oh well 😂

      @@ObsessedN 100 agree!. The i30n had something that my focus st’s, golf R’s, just doesn’t have. Plus it’s a Hyundai and it feels more special than the others. The Golf R is very quick. But to be honest I didn’t realise notice much difference on rolling. The i30n is more dramatic as well and the golf R can feel quite fake in the cabin noise is produces, it’s sounds like a speaker is right there playing the noise 😆 the i30n didn’t sound like that, It’s sounds more organic.
      The exhaust is also just the best in the business. I’ve driven both i30n’s and to be honest the first one nailed it. The second is bit faster but all in all there both good. Both look amazing. I think straight line power is overrated and more time should be spent engineering the car like a i30n to how it makes you feel instead of massive bhp figures in straight line. Because the power wears eventually. Even the golf R performance has worn off, wear as the i30n had more to offer than just straight line. The bangs, the exhaust, I prefer the layout in the i30n over the golf R, it feels like old style that I remember early 2000 and 90’s and just overall style. Even the golf gti mk8 I drove was so much better than the Golf R in so many ways. But I jumped from the mk8 Golf gti to the i30n and what a change in levels.
      I30n clear winner for me. The gti was brilliant but the Hyundai is 5 levels up 👍🏻

      I agree. There’s too many blues around, I hardly ever see red ones and people always say what you’ve said to me. Plus I’m in my 30’s with kids - I can’t be seen in a baby blue car anymore 😂

      Absolutely brilliant, understated which I like. The i20N’s are much more playful than the i30N’s, like little go karts. Friend of mine owns a company called RPM Performance and he’s just got himself an 20N, and in the process of producing after market parts for it if that interests you

      Thank you I’ll check them out. I’ve only had mine a week so it’s only covered 250 mile. I live up in North Yorkshire and the weathers been terrible since I picked it up. Can’t wait to have some fun in it when the weather improves.

    Listening to the sound, it sounds like with res delete it’s a bit tinnier sound. Is this the case. Ive got an RPM performance delete to put on my car. But want to keep a deeper sound to exhaust

    • @ObsessedN
      @ObsessedN  Год назад +2

      It’s abit of both…deeper lower down the revs and higher, higher up the revs. Pops and bangs are louder and the burbles lower down are clearer

    Interesting how the gasses are only coming out the right side, do the exhaust valves route between the left and right tips based on what mode they are in or something?

    • @ObsessedN
      @ObsessedN  3 года назад +3

      So the valve is situated on the RHS exhaust pipe, when that’s open the gases exit bypassing the back box, effectively creating a straight pipe. When the valve is closed the gases are forced through the back box and out the LHS exhaust pipe. So to answer your question I think it’s a simple case of the gases taking the path with the least resistance - when the valve is open.

    • @ObsessedN
      @ObsessedN  Год назад

      Yes just a resonator delete. I have yes but I’ve heard it deepens the sound and I quite like the tone as it is.

    Think it's worth it for for the rpm performance res delete over a normal res delete?

    • @ObsessedN

      100%. It’s an anti drone res delete so you don’t suffer the drone and plus no warning lights

    • @ObsessedN
      @ObsessedN  2 года назад

      It will either have a resonator (Circular fuel cap) OR a GPF (Square fuel cap). Not both. Just remember that a resonator is not a legal requirement for an MOT, but a GPF is if the car comes from factory with one.

    • @motomc6962
      @motomc6962 2 года назад

      @@ObsessedN so gpf basically just replaces the resonator. If that’s the case will Probly look for a gpf-back exhaust 🤣🤣

    • @ObsessedN
      @ObsessedN  2 года назад +1

      Yes on newer ones, think it’s 68 onwards come with a GPF instead of a Resonator, although some 18 plates have a GPF also. Easiest way to tell is the fuel filler cap.
      The Resonated cars (109db) are about 15db louder than the GPF cars (94db) in stock form.
      RPM Performance make a dummy GPF Delete so it looks like a GPF with all the correct markings on but inside it’s a straight pipe. I know lots who have that, that have had no issues with MOT’s.
