Hey brother. I know the feeling. I'm 22 years old, currently serving active duty in the United States Army. I've been in since I was 18. One thing that I've learned the past 4 years is that pain is temporary. It may last a second, a minute, or an hour. Eventually it will subside and something else will take it's place. Don't ever let anyone tell you how to feel or act. The one thing that you have as a human being is the freedom of choice. The freedom to act or feel how YOU want. Be yourself.

Pain, well you should be able to get relief and then pain isn't normal to the human body either. And Im American at home with no civil rights and famous. When do I get to benefit? A mommy and daddy who protected her kids, just cuz we got left out doesn't mean it has to perpetuate our entire experience. We are hostages. ❤

We all may have imperfections, but we're all perfect in our own special way, with our own special methods to doing tasks. Life is hard for everyone, even for me. I lost my mom and watched her pass away when i was just 13. Since then i've been hiding behind a mask, behind a fake smile in which everyone thought i got better, but in reality, i got worse. Then one day i met a girl who fell in love with the real me and stood up for me all the time. I love her 2 this day and i can't wait for the day we hold each other for the 1st time, I love my Angel and now i can finally be myself.

I was diagnosed with tourettes syndrome two years ago, I know about people not liking who you are but if they do not like me then they can stay away from me. It is america i have the freedom to be me and they have the freedom to be them. God made me me for a reason...I do not know what that is yet but i will trust God and I will keep being me.

I bought this album the day it came out in the summer of 2008. I stumbled upon this song and was stuck on it for about a week before I left my ex for good and never looked back. Sometimes we get stuck on stupid and can't find the way out. So glad I did, because that loser was thankfully not my destiny.
To me this song is about someone who was changed because of depression and how they wish they could change but don't know how. They want to be free but are held back because of their depression, its weighing them down, and if they weren't depressed they could accomplish great things.

This song is just simply amazing.......it tells nothing more than too many of us pretend to be someone we are not and can never be for someone and the fear that someone wont want us if we show who we truly are...... I feel if someone loves you .......you shouldn't ever have to pretend to be anyone other than you!!!! If you let your true self show out in public, I'm certain that you will amaze everyone, even if it's not your goal to please them. Part of letting yourself be you is not caring about who likes you and who doesn't. To be yourself is to take a chance and do what makes you happy, because the only opinion you should care about is you, because at the end of the day, all you have is you. You'll make friends; just be you. :D

Totally can relate after my 16yr son was killed on his younger brothers birthday five yrs ago. The only two kids I had. Two years apart in age. It has been a difficult time for us all. I don't think we will ever get back to who we were before this but we are finding ourselves again. He would of been 21yrs old this year. You never get over it... you learn just to live with it. I gave up alot I enjoyed that my girlfriend did not like or thought was stupid especially watching football and totally forgot who i was while she continued doing the things she wanted and several years later I have realized that even if she does not like some of those things it is ok for me to. One can be controlled and stripped of what makes them them and not even realize they are being controlled until one day they wake up and realize it is time to take their life back and be themselves.
Ive been through a lot also, I lost 2 of my best friends, who were both girls, and my my other friend that ive knowned forever moved to florida. One of the girls i lost we got into a huge fight and i cry inside almost every time i see her, i was never acting like my self around her and wanna restart with her.

Living in a world, where I learned 2 become, become numb 2 it all. Somewhere along the way, the will and the way couldn't keep up with the day, I fought threw it all, 2 stand, 2 stand tall, but in the end I lost it all, The fight wore me down, I was no longer strong, wish I would have known U were there all along, the words behind the song. Sitting here at age of 49 and am still trying to get out of that cell. Amazing wife, two amazing daughters, house in the burbs, decent job and pay and yet, still can't escape for some reason. One thing I am thankful for, my wife gets it and is there when I feel I can't get out and keeps me going. I just want one day to be who I know I can be.
