What how? I tried to get online a few years back and it said the novaworld or (whatever the company is called) was down and it wouldn't take me to the custom servers list
Geez, looking at this game in 2019 is making me emotional, this game was the very first FPS game I have ever played in my life. I still have the original disk for this game so I need to replay it when I can!
I remember the online multiplayer in this game is where I learned the term, "lol" for the first time. I kept seeing it in the chat; confused, I asked what it meant. They told me it meant, "shit."
DUDE! Same here hahah Except I learned "lol" from Delta Force: Land Warrior hahaha Black Hawk Down though was when I started playing on line and my dad taught me how to troll/chirp other players
That server still excists. Install the game and play it, maybe it won't feel like in the old days but there are still a lot of people that have picked up the game again and playing everyday.
I clicked on this video because of nostalgia and found soooo much more nostalgia in the comments. I miss all of you I'm sure I probably came across some of you in the servers when they were still up
This game set the standard for almost every FPS we have and it was based on a movie. The multiplayer was amazing and existed long before cheating was common.
First ever online game I played on a 56K modem and then my parents got 256k broadband wow... those were the days. The menu music is just amazing, has such a good feel to it and the noise of the choppers... wish I could go back to being 13 and playing this.
WHo here played DF1 and DF2? Most advanced FPS of that time. Bullet drop and 1 shot kills to vital areas. It is a shame that only 8 people currently work at Novalogic.
Novalogic was the best, i meet Novalogic in the Halo and Xbox era games because i was kid and poor and i used to go with my dad to the cibercoffe ah... i love all of their colection, my favorite is Comanche Gold :,)
They had an amazing map layout where the terrain repeats itself over and over some maps were HUGEEEE Battlefield has nothing on BHD even today. Aussie player here :D.
Everything was started back in the where I've got the demo of Delta Force on PCGamer magazine... I was a kid back then and I was asking money from my family to get a biscuit and drink, but instead i was purchasing PCGamer magazine to get the next demo :)
This was my first ever real online gaming experience. Got into a clan back in those days. I can't remember the name, or the name of the guys I played with. But some of the those guys were old vets, and they were really down to earth dudes. I wish I 'd kept in touch, they had a ton of wisdom they passed down on me. Unfortunately one of the lead guys in the group passed away, and the clan kinda fell apart after that. But man was that a solid fun 3 years. Staying up till like 3 to 4 am on an almost daily basis, for all 3 years, playing with those dudes, even on school days. Played the game the whole time on a little shitty XP laptop lol.
We all need to make a remake version for real, music are so good and it’s cheers me up to see that but that also make me sad that there is no remake bc the studio is closed, that was one of my first game when I was younger and it gonna stay in my heart forever
I used to play this game with my uncle when i was little...he died 2 years ago and watching this makes me nostalgic but happy for the times we spent together...
was just reminded of this game once again, completely forgot how freaking epic that franchise was. why the hell have we not been given another game from them
I remember when I used to play this game with my best friend and we would spend days trying to pass hard missions where we always died and also yelling at each other to "watch out" or "shoot!" hahahah. Good times
HOT DAMN I miss this game, and moreso I miss Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising! First game to make multiplayer war on such a huge scale, and with such a realistic ballistic system!
Mannnnn this game was my childhood. I remember everyone camping in multiplayer in that big mountain map where there was a single building in the middle
For anyone who misses this game, there is still a bunch of us that play online every night! Buy & download from Steam and get back into it! Favorite server is Real Soldiers
in 2003, I was 12 and my family buys our first PC. This is the first game I buy for PC (prior to this I grew up as a console gamer). I play it for hours and hours in 2003.
Hells yeah. That music at the beginning. Haven't heard it or seen it in 14 yrs or so. Gave me an instant nostalgic flashback. LOVED that 50cal. Original Delta Force was the first game (and Tribes) I bought for my brand new, built, $2000, 17" monitor, 12MB Voodoo 2 3dfx, Pentium II 450MHz rig lol. Ahh, the good old days of tech. Loved this shit.
i was not around back then yet am obsessed with it. i have the delta force 2 CD and it has the tachyon demo all on one disk. that was pretty amazing for the time.
Man nobody will belive but I am literally finding this game from like 5 years...But finally got this!!!! This game is childhood for me can't forgot it.
I played this game with my dad when I was 6 years old. My first ever first-person shooter game and probably conditioned me to become a COD player later on lol. Regardless, the way that this game is able to lead into missions with the travel time on hummers, choppers, and the eventual nature of battle is actually pretty insane for its time. Not only that, but I feel like the objective is laid out in a pretty realistic way through intercoms, etc. This game was badass.
I have been playing DF series since the first installment in 1998 and gave up gaming in 2008. This was the real deal, if you get shot you are dead. Be the story, gameplay, AI team members. DF series had it all. 10 years later, I decided to come back to gaming (once a gamer, always a gamer!) and alas! Novalogic is defunct and taken over by some one who makes Jazz the Jack Rabbit. Jeez. I really miss the old school charm of these game when compared to current breed which is more of cocky detailed graphics with no story line and game-play thrown out of the window. Novalogic gave us immersive experience something current game developers fail to get their heads around.
Played this back in the day, my squad/clan and tag was 10MDiv~BigEd88, started on 56K no less. Loved it! Joint Operations was good too. The capture the flag demo was fun before it was released haha. They could do a lot with this in a remastered sense. Up the textures and such... honestly some of the buildings and effects, weapons, not terrible from what I was expecting a 2003 game to look like! Shame it seemed so many of these old games ended up dead from cheaters running rampant if I remember. At least on Black Hawk Down. Upgraded an HP Pavilion PC to a 1GHZ processer, 513mb of ram and a Geforce 4 MX440 64mb play this on max settings if I remember haha.
Its bad that this game has some of the most realistic impression of looking through an aimpoint or other red dot than most modern games. Like yes when you are looking through a red dot with both eyes open (as you should) you don't really see the sight just a dot as your other eye fills in the area behind the housing of the dot
d00d. This game's multiplay was SO lit back in 2004. I still remember all those crazy custom maps people made with castles in the sky... This game and Joint Operations were SO cool to me. I mean I have battlefield and counterstrike now to fill that void, but it's not the same man.
My first game. I remember when i buy this game in 2002 and be so happy. I almost was fired of my work because i played everytime. Salute from brazil guys.
