- In this video my team and I build a very simple, very affordable Shed in one day. Pre-making the gambrel roof framing before heading out to the jobsite made the timber frame and assembly process much quicker. Learn how to build a simple set of roof trusses for your next backyard project and take your DIY skills to a whole new level. I hope these tips help when building your next garden office or shed.

That is incredibly well built
Thank You! Are you a builder?
Just a DIY. I’ve worked on amateur construction sites.
@Grantrude that’s cool!
I love that you force your buildings to be as square as designed. most folks just build according to however it leans. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
Ever wondered how to build a shed in one day? Build the kit off-site, have everything delivered and setup, and hire 6 other people to help you construct it. Couldn't be simpler.
I was thinking the same thing, as a contractor for 25 years I was like…….I hope you can finish a pre build in a day with 7 guys. Five of us used to frame whole homes in 4 lol
Yes Otto l agree!
Nice, I’m building one just like it next week or the the week after. I’m , wish me luck!
Andrew Dohan it went very well, 15x15 almost did it completely by myself except for someone helping me set trusses. Actually painting it as we speak with a headlamp on cause it’s getting dark 😂
So lumber prices fell right after I finished framing, basically paid $9-7.50 per 2x4x8. Now they’re like $5 or so. Probably about 4K into it, but it’s more like a tiny house for me so a lot of that is non shed related costs. Definitely should have waited tho
Yea, it's great when you can get 6 others to help.
Well, the quality of your friends, or whether or not to hire folks is up to you.
Plus didn't have to build & level the floor.
That’s very true!
I don’t like building on anything other than a solid footing
The title is a bit misleading. You didn't build this shed in a day, you assembled it in a day. A lot of it was built in your warehouse and you haven't told how long all that all took :) but nice shed!
This would make the best 20sq mini house. Two stories 16 feet high and glass windows under the gambles with curve is and a cupola. First floor exposed beams. Awe some!
If you are worried about the door frame rotting out why not use green board? Love the shed.
Of they could just build it correctly so that water doesn't inside the doorway. For the wood to rot, the wood needs to get wet and stay wet. If that much water is getting in and staying in, you did something wrong.

Plus, when you use obnoxious music it makes criticizing all the faults feel guilt free!!
Ya - coupla errors in here. Bunch a gobbledygook
Shared this one. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank You!!!
Great video thank you!
The guy on Garden Spot Acres builds one from scratch. His was a little over the top and he built it to house goats. His total for material was around $3,800.
What's the stud spacing on that bad boy?
24” stud space
What’s the Average price of this minus the concrete floor
Go to Garden Spot Acres. He builds one from scratch and breaks down the entire cost. It was around $3,800.
The guys shed was way cooler than this one.
15x2+29x4+15x2=182?
What would you charge a client for this, ballpark?
👍👍
How big was that shed
That shed was 12 x 14
how to assemble a shed in one day...
Step one have 10 friends who wouldn't rather drink or watch.
Roof is too flat for shingles. But guess you getting paid anyway. Lots of things I'd do differently and I'm not a carpenter.
I really appreciate your comments and hope you can comment on more of my videos today. What do you do for a living?
@@BobClarizio Comment on RUclips videos. 🤪 Was an auto technician or mechanic if you prefer for right at 50 years. Be adding 12 feet to my shed next month. All the gambrel "legs" will be same length which will result in 4/12 center section. I will use z-track to eliminate water intrusion instead of hoping trim keeps water out. Do like the gutter edge for the roof though.
Z-track is a good way to go. Why do you need the extra head room?
@@BobClarizio Just don't like the flatter roof. Current shed roof, not gambrel, is as flat as this one you did. Has leaked. But it's pretty old so due for leakage. Nothing lasts forever. There is no "right" way to do this stuff. Opinions! Us amateurs always know more than the pros! Amiright?🤪
lol you mean in 2 days
Hahaha well there is always touch up
No z-flashing that trim is a rot area you money hungery carps do it for the money only do it right or go home.
I see I'm not the only one who noticed that.
