The new 890 ADVENTURE seems to be more Offroad-oriented than the previous model. As shown in the video at 3:05 this motorcycle has WP APEX suspension. Also the tires are more capable for offroad riding (PIRELLI SCORPION STR’s). It does have a low front fender whereas the "R" model has the higher (motorcross style) front fender for more extreme conditions.

Spec on KTM site states WP XPLOR-USD, Ø 48 mm & WP Xplor PDS shock absorber? That would make the S & R the same which seems odd.

incorrect. 890 vs 890 R have different suspension. APEX vs XPLOR big difference. Xplor can be ridden like exc bike.
@@jonasbaine3538 KTM originally had it listed in the spec. as Xplor they have now corrected it to show Apex. Hence the confusion.

I love what KTM is doing but I can't stomach that hideous headlight design, and the after market options are very expensive.
