This video triggered something. I had my eyes closed but I felt like sounds, body sensations and thoughts were all happening simultaneously in the same “space” which isn’t really a space. Followed by a very powerful doubt thought that that said “it can’t be this simple” and a racing heart.
Thank you, Roshi. Seems like this one ended the dreaming. So grateful. I thought it was gonna hurt more! LOL. But then again, I've been hurting a lot for a very long time. So many dramatic awakenings! But this was just seamless. Much love.
Angelo - Enjoyed the exercise with the cup. I was watching the video and looking at a mug. Studying the contours of the mug. And then there was just the mug. Then there was no "mug". And then a thought arose that said, "hey, wait a minute. If I"m over here being the mug, I can't just be inside that body back there."
It's like learning to drive a car and when you're first starting out everything gets broken down into a mechanical process and you consciously have to think about every single step and it feels like a difficult schlep. But somehow along the way it stops being an experience you have to think your way through and it becomes as easy as walking or riding a bike and you wonder how you ever struggled to do it in the first place! With the experience of observing sense phenomena - there really is no delineation between observer and observed. It seems as though there's just a focusing energy happening and it's manifesting in the physical field. There is nothing in the field (an "object" like a cup) that exists separate to "my" awareness, I don't think. The divisions come from the mechanism which creates a story around the individual self - the "me" somehow appearing to reside in the body/mind complex. But why assume it has a location, when it's hard to reveal the source from which its all being reflected from?
I have found the auditory equivalent of this very effective too. If the part of the mind that interprets and gives meaning to the spoken word is switched off then the sound of language is actually felt not just heard. It is immediate. Shows how the act of interpreting and giving meaning to a sensory input by the mind creates a separation.
Just listening to this now, looking at a vase on the windowsill, I can see how thought brings into existence the sense of time and space and that thought is very much connected to, or to do with, the body. To touch the vase, my body would have to move a certain distance whcih would take a certain time, maybe only one second, and so time and space come into being apparently, when thought is used. Otherwise, yes, the vase is an experience within me, or is, consciousness.
Thanks Angelo -- I have your book which helped bring about a realisation - this feels like part of the extra steps I need to help clarify the understanding. My shift that came about through 'Who Am I' type enquiry - an experience outside time and space - I seem to be able to now easily distinguish my mind from the sense of 'I am,' which is a great relief. Im offering thoughts and old emotions and habit patterns to awareness as part of the process. However, Ive not felt all that much permanent / stabalised change in the way Im perceiving things by sight. With an experiment here like with the cup on the table I can feel it and have similar 'glimpses' of that way of seeing ( opening cupbaord's quite often and seeing its all full of the same stuff thats also me ) but I don't seem to be able to stabilise my vision in this way as I got about my day to day business.
That’s ok, keep inquiring into it. There are a lot of approaches in this playlist. Work with other senses as well. Also look into the relational/reactive self as per the equanimity playlist :) Good to hear from you ☺️
Beautiful! "Only what is... Just this... Only this..." Words and thoughts appear to be so limiting and how do you even begin to make sense of how this waking dream of reality even came to be? The mind can't grasp it... I feel like the "Wodwo" in the Ted Hughes poem trying to make sense of what I am!
So grasping the non dual nature of a sense is to see through the projecting nature of phenomenon. But to do so is also to see through the projecting nature of being an observer. Did you ever, as a child, repeat a word, until it becomes meaningless? Almost absurd? I did, it’s like the word loses its meaning, and you are left with the raw sensation of the sound. Is that a little like what non dual perception is like?
I vaguely remember doing that. Fir j my e it wasn’t like non-duel, it was more just a noticing of how Bizarre and “not that actual thing” words actually are. For others it may well have been a non-dual experience
Holy shit! I did the experiment as you suggested and my life movie just crumpled into little pieces. There is nothing there. Nothing is or has ever been separated. Just one, just is… How did we ever became unconscious in the first place?
Not necessarily but I do sometimes put the disclaimer in as I did in this one. Anything can lead to awakening, so different things work for different people. Just wanted to point out that may be a bit obscure before any initial awakening.
@@SimplyAlwaysAwake Gotcha. Yeah it does seem a bit obscure compared to resting in the gap between thoughts. Having a thoughtless mind is as clear as day, but investigating sensation directly feels like I can't tell if I'm doing it correctly. Then again, when I rest in the gap, I do recognize a greater intimacy with sensory phenomena. Hm, it's almost like you have to have a thoughtless mind to really dive into the senses. It reminds me of Neo focusing on the spoon in Matrix 1.

Awesome!! 😊
I swear this guy just opens up his video editor and drags random premade effects onto the timeline lmao I love it
Busted!!!
And boy do they work brilliantly as an accompaniment to what he says !
I liked the fade in, like you drifted down from another “plane” of existence
Thanks for adding the dogs. They are so sweet.
They are the real message, all those words before are just blah blah blah 🐶

Love the puppies! I have never felt as close to this as I when I listen to your prompts. I had it once as a kid, I know it's right here.
It is right here ☺️
Those two beauties at the end gave me more joy than even the longest glimpse of non duality ever experienced here. Thanks Angelo

Brilliant, simple instructions as always. Thank you!

De Nada!
You described it beautifully . Thank you. Your dog did it with out words. Which if there had been words may have been " What ya looking at?" :o )
She’s the best 🐶
Really loved seeing footage of your sweet little dogs at the end🤎🐾🤎🐾🤎
They’re the best!

I agree ☝🏼
Is it just my perception/idealism…..do you think more and more of us are starting to access/see this?
I’m quite sure now that many more people are waking up.

Without thoughts ..... only what is .... nowhere .... without a difference ..... just this ..... It is not even "known" here ...... " only this "💭

Have you ever read of Edmund Husserl's phenomenological method? This seems to be that, taken much more deeply
Is it possible to experience only one sense as non dual, like hearing? Or do all the senses collapse into a non dual experience?
Very common for hearing to clarify first.
Thank you.

Awesome, just rest there, don’t think, analyze or even gather data…. Just this…
Angelo, with the videos you label as nondual, are these only meant for people who've already had that initial shift?
Not necessarily but I do sometimes put the disclaimer in as I did in this one. Anything can lead to awakening, so different things work for different people. Just wanted to point out that may be a bit obscure before any initial awakening.

I was looking at the cup and doing the "not me" inquiry my eyes dropped to my foot below the cup O-O ! No 'not me" in either !
Isn’t that amazing, those ruby slippers just move if their own accord, they don’t need a “you” ;)
