Funny, I have often considered myself something of an energetic clod. Not all that sensitive to subtler energies, not often experiencing the more dramatic ones I hear others describe.
    But I felt this.
As I’m listening to your talks and interviews, I feel myself softening and opening, letting down old guards and defenses. The experience is that I’m being slowly but unmistakably re-wired. Or maybe un-wired.
It’s gentle and gradual. More like a stone warming in the sun than like a volcano erupting, or water boiling away into steam.
It’s both profound and subtle, unstoppable yet patient.
In your lovely interview with Matt, which I listened to earlier today, you mentioned that even now you sometimes wonder why you make these videos.
All I can say in response is that I’m very grateful that you do.
Of course I know that listening to another can be a trap, a laziness, yet another way to avoid our own direct experience.
But I never have that experience here. Your clear, unpressured guidance is a welcome pointer and companion, delivered with precision, integrity and grace.
    Thank you, Angelo.

This made me think about the story you told about the girl who after awakening she washed her hair and it was like the first time she ever actually felt her hair that way. It also make me think of when you get dental work and the gum is numb and just how weird it feels to touch the gum with your fingertip on the outside but you can't feel it from the "inside" because it numb? I don't know how this relates but I figured I'd share 😜

It reminds me of watching my grandchildren as babies. Looking at their limbs and linking whatever they were feeling with the movement of that thing that they're looking at. Body awareness is not inborn. So I start this meditation imagining I'm a newborn.

It took me maybe 4 or 5 goes to get this - but it clicked today and It worked wonderfully.
The problem I had the first few times is I went looking for some deep, fundamental thought & I wasnt paying attention to the simple thought at the surface level of mind that was what I was actually trying to avoid.
Just thought I'd share for anyone else who didn't land with this the first time! Come back to it if you dont get traction immediately.

Hey bud, Thanks for answering my question. It seems many are interested in it. My initial try : First I noticed is the immediate overlay images of the foot appearing immediately after the sensation creating the body. Very fast and quickly repeating like an image vibration. After a few minutes I cannot tell difference between foot and floor as sensation spreads out. I notice attention wanting to spread to different sensations and as this happens I notice a tension between whichever are noticed next from the last one. Almost like they are pulling between them. Images are trying to constantly tell me what the sensation is but there is trying to ignore them and go back into the sensation. Then one sensation becomes the whole experience followed by the next extremely fast. The inbetween tension is noticed until it kinda spreads out into one whole energetic field and just kinda keeps going out. I feel a subtle pulsation like a breath but energetically. There is energetic popping in several places with are sensations all over face, arms etc.. as the images try to take back control of the experience. I guess the work is to not let them. Thanks again. I'll keep working as always. ------ Tony

Ok great, a couple things (all of tyhis is subtle stuff of course):
      1. When there appears to be one and then the next sensation for instance, look as closely at the actual experience as possible (or feel) and try to discern where one becomes the next in time. Where is that information actually coming from.
      2. I know the feel of this struggle / tension. You can look for the source of the tension, in the writing you assigned it to the sensation itsel. Look really close to see if there is stuff that feels like tension actually in the sensation, or does it arise from a bit of a tug of war over the attention between the thoughts and the sensations.
      3. If it becomes clear that the tension is more of a tension of attention control then you can stabilize the experience more by giving the permission/ impetus/ control over the primary experience "out there" rather than to "you" what ever that feels like in the moment). Such that the pruty and feelingness and presencing is clearly more intrinsic to the sensation field than something you are doing to it or getting from it.
      4. It also will stabilize more as you do this for longer periosds and/ or start to feel the cross over into other senses.

I was out walking and I couldn't feel my body. It's below freezing, but it wasn't perceptible. I just floated along, watching everything move past or through my field of vision. And now, sitting here, doing this exercise, I felt the pulse and the breath, but the rest of the body is still out of focus. Sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm dissociated or relaxed or simply nothing at all. It feels good to be still. Especially when I'm moving.

Angelo!! This was it!!! I keep trying to figure out what happened to me when I was driving over that really high bridge. I was scared to drive over it but told myself to just breath and it'll be okay.
Haha joke was on me. While I was breathing my way through the drive, it felt like everything's got squishy, the bridge started to filker almost like what you would see when a migraine gives you spots. These were similar but instead of spots blocking the visual it was like looking through a fish eye camera lens. I thought I was gonna puke. I've driven over this bridge 100's of times, and never liked it. This time was just off the charts disorienting. I was so afraid I would fall 200 feet through the bridge and into the river. I wish someone would talk about the hazards of awakening and everyday life interactions. Im an armed officer, and really don't want one of these episodes while I'm doing my job. The conundrum is that I'm so much better with interactions when I'm lit up and in the flow. HaaaalP Pleeeeezzz 🙏 🌬💕

Been playing about with the feeling sense quite a bit recently. Either feeling into the experience of "Center of the body and body as the center", or the exact same "contact point with the ground" investigation, which has kind of become "feel the Planet, feel Space. Space, Planet." Using words to tune into the openness, then the groundedness. Then dropping that for just the feelings, then just as one feeling. It's really interesting to move beyond words and images, and in doing so notice that those things have a kinaesthetic texture themselves and that the "realities" are still just further layers of subtlety (even if they are really huge layers).
Also, when standing, working on alignment and relaxation leads to the body falling into the contact points with the ground so that is the main area of feeling awareness.
This can get extremely, i don't know how to say, non directional, or multidimensional maybe. So it's interesting to take it into light sparring, because getting clocked brings it back to a functional reality, But there is also an increased ability to blend with the movement and intention of the "other" which is more readily available in feeling than it is in sight. Playing with the overlap of those and with breath/body is fun too.
Short version: Feeling extends beyond the body. And the environment, both as present moment info, and as held feelings and memories, occur within the body. As such, I have no idea what a body actually is, but there does appear to be a volitional aspect to how mind and senses interact and the feeling I choose to inhabit. Everything occurs within awareness though, so that's the main "body", or the only constant one. The rest depends on where awareness is directed.

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake Do you have a video about maintaining focus/concentration permanently on one thing, by any chance? I know it isn't really in the non-dual mode of letting go, and just going with what arises, and has elements of "maintaining a self" or "certain thing", but i've found a couple of times recently when i do keep focus on a practice for a decent period of time, right up to and into sleep, it allows me to keep continuity/focus/lucidity into dreaming and out the other side back into waking. Basically continuity of realisation seems to be a thing that has to be developed and it's flipping hard work. And it also seems doing this keeps layers of "a self that is doing the doing" going. Bit of a paradox.
Seems a waste of time that i apparently have to, when fully resting, choose to be unconscious, and then have to spend a decent amount of time warming the motor up the next day. Especially when i've the experienced times when not only can continuity be kept into dreaming, but that it can be extremely cool in the times i do. Such a design flaw. I want to speak to management.

How is it possible to function as a person, and make videos, interviews, speak to somebody, or understand a friend going through some suffering? It's so hard to conceive from our perception. Thank you so much for those discussions, taking us so close to "this" , but "this" has it's own agenda: no use making any effort, if consciousness still wants to play in the illusion, so let's play for the moment, and just laugh about this!

I seemed to start getting to a point where all bodily sensation was, for want of a better term, 'in the same place' (although 'place' definitely isn't right). Sound was also in that same 'place', and the mottled black view from my closed eyes. The mind separates 'feeling', 'sight' and 'sound' into separate layers in this not-place: I wonder what happens with more attention paid to the conceptual border between these layers

This seems to point me in the right direction. I sense my feet where of course for decades they are present below me . Then I purposely sense that they are felt in a different location. For me that breaks the conditioned sense of locality . Once that has been challenged it seems easier for me to all of a sudden sense a non localized experience of just sensing. Does that make sense?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake Thank you for that confirmation. Lately the breakdown of time space or the apparentness of reality has effortlessly come and then gone. The sense of presence has become the prefered with existential changes that although seemingly concrete are starting feel the same as any other sensation. A kind of parity which relinquishes something. And then structure creeps in again. Relief Doubt Exhiliration Confusion but a kind of certainty finally. I know that sounds all over the place because quite frankly it is but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Untold suffering seen can be a bit disorienting. But it pales and starts to naturally deconstruct in a light I cant quite describe but seems like eternal acceptance. I am losing doubt and happy I have found a guide that can somewhat hold my heart through all this. Thank you for listening to my ramblings musings and confusion.

This can be a wonderful practice. The body contains all truths to be revealed with continued practice. Until it is seen as atoms, dancing and rotating in various gravitational fields of undulating, pulsating expression. The greatest of which is the one that holds the very sense of body together itself. Once that field of projection is understood, and seen clearly, the very consciousness itself that coalesces the body and the multitude of worlds for it to express and play in; then we may start to experience consciousness at play as a universe in relationship with itself. But there IS more, a greater abiding beyond even consciousness itself. Settle for nothing less than THAT! My own tradition (Thai forest tradition) settles for nothing less. The body itself is the keyhole to what abides beyond all names and forms. Simple, and effective practice reveals. Live spiritually poor, let go of all the riches of teachings, complex practices, Shaktipats and Transmissions. Simple practice does it when not complicated with riches. The very fact that you are, indicates you have been bestowed with the very means. Metta!
