When I first moved to the Seattle area, I became friends with Brando and Dan M after we met up at a local anime club. The three of us spent many days drawing comics while sitting in his attic bedroom. The three of us even made a road trip to Spokane, WA so we could see an Antarctic Press artist that lived out there. Memories...
@@sigslayers OMG. I should've watched this before writing. LOL. Oh man... the "Telephone Pole Incident"! I remember that.... At that time, I had just started dating a girl (who is now my wife) that I met while going to a local community college. She and I were planning on going to Ocean Shores (along the Washington coast) on a Saturday with a couple friends of ours from the same community college. On that Saturday morning, we all met up at my place and were getting ready to take off when I got a call from Dan M (mentioned above). He was freaking out telling me that Brandon broke his neck and was paralyzed in the hospital and said that I had to go see him. I'm with my girlfriend and friends and I say to them, "We have to go to the hospital to see my friend who just broke his neck!" We drove down to Seattle to the hospital to see Brandon. I can't remember how the conversation went between he and I on what was said. But it was freaky just seeing him like that. After our visit, my girlfriend, our friends and I went to Ocean Shores for the day. I just felt weird that day wondering of he was going to die or not. To this day when I mention to my wife something about my "artist friend Brandon", she says "Oh. The guy that broke his neck?" :P

Brandon Graham is a comic genius. Great writer, great artist, great colorist and letterer. Self-sufficient. Go read King City and Moonray.
prophet was so good, and such a departure from the original it makes me wonder how it got made
Such a crazy journey that book has taken
Dope Interview! Great history explained.
Thank you. Dope talent. Dope interview.
Brandon is so good. Check out his book, Rain Like Hammers. It’s a quiet, but very impressive book.
