Speaking as a Brit working and living in South East Asia this show is very welcome indeed and has become an instant favourite of mine alongside Have I Got News For You and QI. Good format, good atmosphere, good humour and great panelists.

I can say with almost 100% certainty that the best wifi in Australia is slower than Britains worst.

haha it's just a joke. Although our internet speeds, particularly where I am are terrible. It took me 6 hours to upload a 10 minute video last week.

Quick google found 60MBps provider, that's 75 times faster than the UK's slowest internet. www.canstarblue.com.au/compare/nbn/results;profile=default;speed=Premium;data=1000;provider=all;link_to_providers=true

Would it be possible to de-interlace the footage before uploading? (I think that is the problem) The lines are kinda distracting

Are you sure it is interlaced? Looks like progressive to me.

as far as i know those lines appear when interlaced footage is played on a progressive screen when there is movement but i might be wrong

The opening clip (the news readers) is progressive (or at least deinterlaced), the rest (the actual show) is interlaced video _flagged_ as progressive. If it had been encoded properly (i.e., flagged as interlaced), RUclips would deinterlace it.
The BBC actually records a lot of shows in 50p, these days, so they can easily produce a 50i version for broadcast, and use the 50p (or a lower bitrate 25p) version for the web.
No idea how this one was recorded, but the file they uploaded to RUclips is flagged incorrectly. If for some reason they can't change the encoding flag, they should deinterlace it before uploading.

I think they do the editing by themselves with another elf Alex Bell.

Its crazy when you think of hundreds of millions of pounds they want to spend on updating old buildings that make little to no revenue... in a time of economic panic.
Is this somehow a way to spend money that will go back into the economy, ie if they buy the equipment and materials at B&Q etc, get british builders and electricians in to do the work ? It just seems like an idea that's both insane and yet genius...
