I would like to. Hopefully one day I can🙂

I don't like to be over critical of did videos especially when I'm trying to learn something. But that is some shonky welding. But great video.

Yep. It didn't last long. I have no expertise. Only just bought the welder and had very little practice with it

@@marcus.H well don't be put off. I know this video was a while ago and I've no doubt you have learned from then. None of us are born with a pair of gauntlets and a torch in our hand.

Next time... don't burn an entire stick on that clutch.
Remove the gears, easy-peasy three c-clips, save the cogs from melting and filling with slag, tack it in three or four places, equally spaced.
Get a caliper, check it out before hammer time. Maybe hide the hammer next time and put a fine file in it's place. :)

I'll try to keep it in mind next time. It broke within a week, sadly.

Did it drastically slow down after throttle was no longer being applied? Also did you have to do anything in settings to make this work? I’m not trying to recharge the battery I’m just trying to get the motors to slow themselves down and act as a brake to some degree.

Sadly, it broke within a week. It had very little slowing effect

I use MXUS geared hubs (xf19c and xf15f) and the extra drag caused by the motor when not regenerating is low to irrelevant.
I can happily pedal with no assistance and not notice the drag but I ride a 36kg bike and even the brake pads rubbing are irrelevant at this weight.
But when regenerating it feels like climbing a 20% incline on flat. (I limit the regen to ~400W)

Sir how does this brake works
    Pls show practical breaking

It worked for a week. Then it broke in the wrong way 🤣😂

So what is regenerative braking means?

When slowing down, the motor sends power to the battery 🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋

    Hey mate,
I've done a similar welding job on my hub motor to implement regenerative braking.
May I ask what failed and how did it fail in your setup?

Sounds good. Sadly my one broke through normal use. When it went, it almost locked the back wheel up and it heated up to a ridiculous temperature. I think the clutch may have been slipping and generating heat when it failed (I still had to do a lot of miles due to work). Thankfully, it had platic gears instead of metal ones. So when the weld began breaking off and getting trapped in the gears, the cheap, easily replaceable plastic gears absorbed all the broken metal pieces and thereby protected the wheel hub and provided some protection to the rest of the motor.

maybe a strong glue was enough

Even welding wasn't strong enough. It broke within a short time

    Where’s part 2

It worked for a week then broke and grenaded the gears
