This song has had me in a chokehold since I came across it years ago. It breaks my heart every time.
"I tell you in the heat of the scuffle, nobody ever takes my eyes off of you"
My favorite line 💔
"I know you would gaze in his eyes forever, and I figured out just how to give that to you" Great lines from both perspectives in this song.
He sounds just as good live if not better.
Only Andy Hull could write a song that makes you want to cry for both a cheater and the guy who chopped his head off
what a beautiful song written about a weird, twisted event.
This makes me so sad, because they both sounded so in love with her.
One of my most favorite songs ever.
andy hull is absolutely amazing. ill do you all a favor. if you haven't heard him in right away great captain, and manchester orchestra then check him out. your welcome.
More people should have read this 8 years ago. Me included.
Can't get enough of this song right now.
I've been in love with this song for years, but having the song's background context.. wow. Even more powerful than before.
holy shit i really cannot get enough of this song
I love this song I have made tons of people hear it I show it to everyone. Its beautiful and morbid y'all are amazin'
Still the best, amazing. Brilliantly written and even more brilliantly sang
this song always makes me cry. -_- it's so deep, love this :)
This is one of my favorite songs. I had no idea until today this was what is was about. #mixedfeelings
Glad to know the story behind this song, so it makes more sense now. Beautifully written. Even when i couldn't figure out whose voice was which in the lyrics, it still connected.
This is to be one of the most well written songs on the album. Wow, definitely blew me away. Well done, Bad Books, well done.
Can't Stop. Listening.
''Strokes her blistered hand across my glass container, saying 'It's so good to see you back, here again"
My mind has just been blown. Amazing.
It's insane it's been ten years already.
I lost this... but just found it again and now my heart is happy again.lol xx This is beyond the term "epic". One of my favorite songs/stories out there. Thank you for this creativness.
That’s me, tonight. Someone mentioned that poetry doesn’t have to be long to be powerful. Just look at one of the most moving short stories ever written, it’s only got six words. “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” That brought me back round to Bad Books’ *Baby Shoes* and from that I finally made it back here. It’s been so long.
LOL Kevin laughed at the story in the beginning xD
Love it! And it's got my name in it! :) Keep it coming!
I literally cried while I listened. Wow, bravo
i love this song so much
I get chills
Hello my profile that I can't access anymore
Such an underrated song...
Such a beautiful song.
the difference between some of the old MO videos to his more recent sessions with BB is crazy. he lost a whole lotta weight. bet he feels good for it.
No kidding. RAGC captivates a lot of that, too. I need to stop eating out so much and start cooking on a dang stove.
Andy, you are weird. But I like it.
He did a shout out to me in this podcast.
Show me
Just saw your request for proof. It was a live podcast (obviously) and I sent in a question that he answered. He came to Akron and played the last RAGC album and I returned his Buxton hat. The agreement was that we would swap hats back the next time I was at his show. He didn't have the Cleveland C, so I asked when I am going to get my hat back. He said 'NEVER!' and then explained the scenario to KD in one of the QA sessions. I have scoured the RUclips breakups of that sessions and think it got chopped.
Found it. At 14:40-ish. new.livestream.com/livestreamsessions/badbooks
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand now I am re-watching the entire session, reaffirming my intense love for Andy Hull.
Could listen to Andy all day
I love the story behind it... Fuck yeah
still my most favourite song
amazing song
*everyone crying*
Andy - "Is that it?"
best voice, ever
this is so awesome!
I want nothing more than the beautiful lumberjack, that is Andy Hull, to sing me to sleep.
hes an amazing song writer
Poetry, I love it!
Don't really know how this can have any dislikes >.< soooo goooood
Nice.
NEEDS MORE PLAYS
Watch his nervous energies sessions. Looks pretty slim, and tidy in those.
They mean Peter the great. He was a czar with anger issues. He forced his first wife to become a nun so she would leave him alone, and then killed her when she messed with someone else. He killed them both. he then got married to Catherine, who messed around with Williem Mons, who ironically was the brother of Peters mistress Anna. He chopped his head off and then put it in a jar in their room.
and i've never loved nobody other than you..
Love Andy Hull
I like this version better than the album version this one is beautiful
When did they change their name
😍😍😍
One of my favorites, did a cover of it and I would love for anyone to check it out. (:
Andy wearing Nike and somehow looking slimmer? Coincidence I think not.
Lmao, hillarious stuff
Does anyone know what kind of mic Andy is singing into?
Looks like a shure....but i'm not sure.
It's a Neumann KMS105
Thanks Jan, I never saw this comment till now, but I appreciate it :)
People should really look up this story. Turns out Pytor was cheated on his wife as well. Now I feel less sorry for the guy.
difference is he was a czar and well, she wasnt. unfair but true
As Czar he had that right. You here of kings who have multiple wives/lovers and it was accepted. Same concept.
The guy whose head he chopped off was the brother of his mistress, so there’s some fine irony for you.
I love that the camera man can't find the harmony.
Cole Kiburz Neumann, probably KMS 105
Instead of “its so good to see you back here again” basically validated his head being chopped off. It would be better with: “it’d be so good to have you back here again”
No it wasn’t worth it for him
which pytor, i don't believe this story?
The great one. The beheaded fellow was willem mons I believe.
and i've never loved nobody other than you..
