Kudos for 5k. Advise before your next race-no matter the distance TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN. If you train properly you should feel ok later not sore or crampy. I’ve ran six runDisney races and earned Coast to Coast in 2016. Races have changed so much.

I think he meant to run. Running 5k non-stop is way harder than walking 10k. The fitness level of the average American is so low, that I would approximate less than 10% of people could run 5k without stopping.

Dude, in my view, running a 5k is amazing even with character stops - running with your camera is insane, congratulations 🎉 I love the costumes, that was a great idea. Kevin, just hearing about the dopey challenge is exhausting, congratulations to you as well!! Also, I need to try these running socks just for the parks - I always get blisters!!

I ran 5 miles 6x a week for over 10 years, countless 5k/10k's, and 2 half marathons.....I've never worn "running" socks.
I ran the Star Wars 5K a couple times and a 10K a few years back. Hoping to get back into it next year, but need tons of training. I never stop for pics 😝 Congrats on your first runDisney!

Did the Challenge the 10K and the Half. Then the post-race party. I was up 22 hours yesterday. From alarm at 3AM on Sunday for the start of the Half to leaving the party at Epcot at 1AM today (Monday.) Get your mom down here to run one of these with you --- I'm sure we are close in age. She can do it! I hope this video inspired people to do some of the races. They are the best.

I ran the Wine & Dine half in 2017. It was the BEST half I’ve ever ran. Disney puts together a great race. Congrats on your 5k!
I have done all the run Disney events. And they are truly a special experience. It’s what got me into running. My favorite course was the 10 miler course for the springtime surprise in 2022
You’ll get addicted to run Disney events. 😂 I know I am. I’m taking a short break after I had my daughter. But I ran at last wine and dine pregnant 🥰
Be careful, runDisney is addictive. Do some more training if you decide to do another one so you’re not winded and cramping before mile 2. Looking forward to seeing your next event

Racing can get addicting 👍😊 I’ve ran over 100 1/2 marathons and 16 full marathons-but never a Disney race (I live in Utah) but it’s my goal someday soon. I broke my foot a few weeks before a marathon I was supposed to run last month 😕 So now I’m on the rehab train from that-but your video made me miss it even more-that gives me motivation -Thanks! 👍

Great job for your first race! I’ve done 10 in person rundisney races. Did all the distances except a full marathon. Def need to train or you will be sore!! Lol. It’s a lot of fun tho. 🙂 try a 10k next 👍🏻

Congrats on finishing your first Run Disney 5k. You did awesome vlogging while running. I know that’s not easy. My daughters and I did the 5k and 10k for food and wine last year. Every year we do the 5k and 10k for the Princess marathon and have added the half marathon. Working our way up to the challenge next year which is the 5k, 10k and half. Disney marathons are a blast. Welcome to the Run Disney club.

I had the privilege of running my marathon at Disney (it was amazing) some tips!
-train for all distances it will be more fun for you and reduce your risk of injury
-consider staying at a disney property (very convenient for us out-of-staters)
-pick a race you're interested in (not just because everyone is talking about it)
-if you're not interested in running consider volunteering! RunDisney is magical because of the cast and volunteers ❤
PS. The process of getting into a race is difficult especially with their rising popularity don't be discouraged if you can't get into one of your first try. Happy running ❤

I’m running the Princess marathon in February with my daughter for the second time! it’s true about how hard it is to get in. I had 4 windows open and it booked up in less than 23 minutes!!

Kyle! Welcome to the world of full service spa treatments - ahhhh 😊 I did my 1st 5k last Thanksgiving turkey trot and loved it (I did interval where you run for a bit then walk for a bit). After your video, I think I will look into a Disney run someday. It looks like so much fun!! Thanks for taking us along.
Just completed my first run event ever. Did the figment challenge and suffering right now. I should’ve trained more but, i can say i finished both the 10k and half marathon 🔥
Done several RunDisney races? Mostly Wine and Dine, did Disneyland Tinkerbell in 2016 and earned my coast 2 coast. Disney races are the best, just expensive as hell.

Congrats on finishing. I am a rolldisney athlete which means i do the races in my wheelchair. January will be my 3th dopey in a row, and to be honest some of the advice you gave was pretty crappy advice. I love that disney invited you and upgraded your corral but at the same time athletes with disability has to start way back because of “safety” i don’t know if you are going to hear this from more awd athletes but we are pretty hurt and were so scarred for that race. See i love to have you at the races but race etiquette and some training is maybe smart. (I am not bashing you at all)
I will be doing my 3rd Dopey Challenge in 2024!!! I love RunDisney races. They are expensive but FUN!!!! Also has a runner, Cotton is Rotten when it comes to cotton socks!!!

I have done the dopey challenge and I’m a perfect challenger for the Disney princess half marathon weekend where you do the 10k and the half marathon but I have also added the 5k. Been doing rundisney since 2012

Did our first 5k this past spring and is a cool experience. I think meeting some different characters would be great but but the lines were all ridiculous even before the race.
