5 hrs is the magic number driving 7 hrs is a bad habit never know when you get caught up in a traffic jam or accident been driving 25 yrs ran coast to coast trking isn't for everyone it will make you or Break you down also look for forced dispatch stay away from huge sign on bonus it's grab look for compines that have low turn over small company stay away from the big companies they don't care about you never settle for less in mileage pay and home time equipment is very important also do they in cab facing camera that watch you stay away from them

Hey man, love your videos, you seem like a good person honest and hard working, I’m 33 was a logger from 17-30 then I bought my own truck drove it till 32- sold it got back into logging for another man- but I guess I got the trucking in me now I’m 33 and wanting to drive again, wen I had my own truck I pulled chips and logs but i would like to see the country now I wanna get away from south ga and see some things threw a truck window, would u recommend me a company or 2, I’m looking for somewhere I can fill at the application get approved and get to driving I’m not looking for company I gotta set n class 2 days then drive unless there is no way around that, any suggestions? Either way I’m sure your busy but thank you and god bless

No worries. I can make time. Unfortunately, you’ll have to go through orientation at the company you drive for. Here is the bad news, if you’ve never been out on your own delivering loads, you may have to go out with a trainer for a week or two. If you don’t want to drive for a company, I recommend leasing through a company so you can save your money and buy your own truck in about a year like I did. I’m at LandStar and they have step deck work that pays GREAT. If you like step deck work, look for a company that has leasing programs for step deck drivers especially since you have experience.
