- A few videos back I embarrassed a lowly Masterlock padlock by using various low skill opening methods. In this video I thought I'd do a similar job on this poor Assa 600 with gins. A truly tough pick you'd think, but all locks are not created equal. Time to shame the Assa!

Mylok gave me one of those locks, Capune sent me some Assa pins to get rid of the wafers, I threaded #3, and sent it to Legless 😂😂😂😂😂

What a shame that the mastering and bitting moves the gins up so high that they are ineffective. Excellent demonstration - thanks.
Yeah, it is a shame. A few keyblanks, a bit of filing and a pin shuffle around would make them so much tougher 😎👍🏻
Not only has Dmac abused a Naster Lock, he's gone and done it to an Assa 600 as well 😱

Can't you just repin the lock to get it more difficult? Just remove the master wafers and alternate between long and short key pins?
Sure, that'd do it. Of course the key would no longer work but who needs keys! 😁👍🏻

I had 10 of those come my way for a short time, I didn’t gut them (not my locks),
I got all 10 picked & then picked 3 random ones out to see if they will rake open, they did,
I think you could make them better by either taking the wafers out which would cause the bitting to be better but the key won’t work, or you could put the wafers under the springs so the key would still work but some pins might still might be close to the sheer line, I think the first way would be better for picking & just lose the use of the key.
For sure. I spent a fair bit of time searching for key blanks for the 'ebay assas' but didnt find any. That would have made them more challenging with better bitting 😎👍🏻
