"Excellence is a form of protest and the insight that jazz has, and the way you can work in a collective these times for our country and for the world, jazz is more necessary and needed than it ever was." Preach!!!
i like the way wynton talks here about problems solved with film music etc. i dont know if he intended it but to me it is a nice nod to schoenberg who thought that way. it is a nice way to acknowledge artistic achievement that is building toward something that may only be ripe down the road.

Priceless content. WM is an American original and a pioneer in the world of jazz. Thank you for this interview.

Aww he looks like such a nice guy..
Watch this amazing interview with Olivier Theurillat, he was mentored by Wynton during his time at Julliard - ruclips.net/video/cy9xUBlpz6w/видео.html
What kind of composer do you think you aaaaahhhhh!
The elephant in the room is his denial of the artistic worth of anything innovative that has happened in jazz in the last fifty years.
