B-but then that incident with a high as fuck admiral and a emotionless cyborg would also happen again?
Weren't they all together after the oden flashback ended though?
Does that mean admirals are going to get involved...? I'm just saying, it's two Yonkos, the Marines would like to get them arrested. Not sure how that would go down.

My friend also passed away 3 years ago. He often played binks sake on the guitar and piano for me, and we would talk about one piece all the time. So now everytime I listen I get abit sad. But also happy, cause those were the memories we had together.
I'll admit, seeing One Piece through to the end has kept me on this mortal coil.. Condolences to both of you ❤

That seems legit. Either "Joy" or "Freedom". Because both of these are almost childishily impossible to be achieved for the whole world.
I like this the most from everything else I've heard, I think it makes sense.. You know Oda though, he likes to turn sense on its head lol
I think it would be something more like, "I want to make every single person in this world free". Because it's a dream people would find childish and idealistic. It would make sense with the desire of both Luffy and Roger of being the freest man in the sea. They wouldn't feel as the freest if they were the only ones with freedom.

That is not stalling, that is choking. Not sure if intentional, but is shows the difference in the power level of a yonko - as powerful as he is to choke out those two, Big Mom was casualy doing the same to him just a few chapters ago.
Really leaves me wondering just what power Blackbeard is hiding to be able to have floor stomped the Whitebeard remnants if Marcos capable of holding back 2 Calamities

@@PatZalatoris exactly, it’s going to be a rough battle for him. Hopefully Oda doesn’t skip the fight scenes. I don’t want to fade away to another straw hat then fade back with Luffy and the others laid out on the ground like the scabbards.

she was definitely referencing Roger, we know how much a fanboy of him Oden became and that he wrote about him in the journal too. I'm surprised people are attributing that to Joyboy instead.

It’s definitely Roger. Oden is astonished by Roger’s words and says as much in his flashback narration. And when Luffy chats with Rayleigh at Shakky’s bar, Rayleigh recalls that Shanks told him that Luffy “said the exact same words as the Captain”. Also note the bandage placement on the faces of characters in the ASL cliff scene, the Whitebeard/Oden/Roger scene, and Yamato’s scene. Oda is making a direct visual callback each time.

Based on Zoro’s personality, he’s not gonna aim for the old scar imo. He’ll make a new one to show he’s better than Oden.
I do like the idea of Zoro inflicting a new, (maybe even larger) wound on Kaido, maybe not so much from a desire to one-up Oden as basic battle pragmatism; Kaido is going to see Enma and instinctively focus on guarding the area of his body that the sword previously struck.

Still, it would depend on portrayal and implication as to whether Zoro truly eclipses Oden, or whether Oda’s focus will be more concerned with Oden and Zoro’s combined efforts, with Oden providing Zoro a psychological ‘opening’ 20 years in the making.

But Oda likes Zoro, it could happen. Most writers don’t power scale like fans do.
Beating Kaido and Big Mom will probably make Luffy nearly PK level even if he doesn’t beat them on his own. Zoro could reach Oden level this arc.

When Roger read the newspaper about him being the king of pirates, he laughed and said something like "they have no clue." So he definitely did not wanted to be the king of the pirates in the first place. What would Luffy say as a kid?

Chapter 1000 revealed The future Pirate king Luffy
Furthermore, chapter 1000 encapsulated the entire feeling and spirit of One Piece and summarized everything the series is about in one chapter.

Its wild that I never noticed how that scene with sabo, ace and luffy as kids that we never hear what luffy actually says. When you think about it, if what luffy said was just to be the King of the Pirates, why would Oda not just show us he said it? We had heard him say it dozens of times already, there is no reason to cut out what he says in that case unless it was something we didn't already know. Im at a loss that I never realised this. Luffy has a secret dream, and thats fascinating. Doesn't matter if its something simple or childish, but im just glad Oda ain't slowing down with the mysteries in this series lol

Roger said what Luffy said. She then says (out loud) that a "great man" once said what Luffy said. A "great man" said what Luffy said, and Roger said what Luffy said. Hm... Could this "great man" be Roger?
Yeah I thought it was pretty obviously talking about Roger, which is what makes it such an impactful moment when Ace says hed love to have a drink with the man he spent his life hating
Nobody has talked about when Shanks gave Luffy his straw hat, Shanks mentioned that Luffy said the same thing as Roger, which is most likely the same thing he told Ace and Sabo.

No reason to think the hidden sentence is just a sentence that was revealed before.
That's what makes it more likely imo. Because it was Roger's first ever words to Rayleigh, so basically their first ever goal. The readers really never took it as something important or serious, but if it became important later on they would think "Oh, that makes sense. Roger said those words to Rayleigh before."

that would also overlap with one of the most predominant theories as for what the one piece is.
that is one piece being the unification of the world (the four seas) into one piece: a world without borders (everybody is *free* to travel anywhere).
to accomplish that, the geography of the world has to be literally turned upside down; the red line has to be destroyed (at least at the junctions between the grand line, which would also explain the divination of the the destruction of fishmen island by Luffy's hand, and several other things like the creation of all blue, meeting laboon again who kept smashed against one of the aforementioned junctions, etc.).

Roger wanted to turn the world upside down, for him to do that he needed the treasure that Joyboy left behind, the one piece, but the one piece needs all 3 ancient weapon to turn the world upside down, poseidon wasn't born yet so Roger couldn't do anything, that's why a successor was born, and that is Luffy the man who will turn the world upside down. Down sounds like dawn too btw. So, the upside down of the world is the dawn of the world that is being spoke about.
And the promised day that Neptune said is probably the day when the world is turned upside down, and that day is the day that Toki was looking for that Oden said will happen 20 years later.
If Joyboy is the creator of the ancient weapons and one piece that means he also wanted to turn the world upside down, so it could also mean that the redline already exist during the void century, Joyboy tried to destory it. He created Noah so that the fishman could use it when the fishman island is destroyed due to the redline's destruction, he failed in the end so he sent an apology letter.

As I've grown old over the last 15 years I'm getting more interested in the One Piece politics / alliances than actual battles.
It’s amazingly done. Guy Ritchie was talking about story telling one time and was saying that a truly great story can be enjoyed on numerous levels. One Piece can be enjoyed as a face value shounen and be enjoyed, but it can also be enjoyed on so many other levels. This shit is absolutely legendary
There are many things to enjoy about One Piece, the politics, the battles, the alliances, and many other subjects.
When Roger found the one piece, the world government declared him as the king of pirates, and Roger kinda liked the title they gave him!!!

I’m so proud of tekking for actually bringing up the quote that we don’t get to hear from both Roger and luffy. It’s OBVIOUSLY something that has not been said yet in the entire story, and I don’t even see that many people realizing the relation to what ace said to these other 2 past chapters (Oden flashback and Luffy’s childhood) nor talking about it that way. I was waiting to see if tekking would bring that up and he obviously would.
I'm so proud of all of us, whenever you've read it since chapter 1, have been caught up for a while (I've been reading week to week since around 760), or caught up last week to be there for #1000 this is no joke and a huge accomplishment

I think you have it slightly wrong about Yamato’s flashback... when talking about a great man she wasn’t referring to Joy Boy saying that dream. It was Roger. This is the first time Ace felt something positive towards is father, but didn’t know it.
How would Ace react upon finding out it was Roger who basically said "Luffy is going to be better than me"

Oda performed a miracle with chapter 1000. I thought with all the expectations people had, and the hype around chapter 1000, fans were destined to be disappointed, but Oda senpai is a storytelling genius, and chapter 1000 is God Tier.
I thought it was just meh normal chapter, definitely didn't live up to the hype for me. I expected it to be a young kaido flashback or something along those lines

It literally could not fit less, Luffy has no care if strangers like him. He only cares about the people close to him, or those he likes.
My thoughts on it are something akin to “I want to see everything there is to see in the world and then go further”. It’s childish to those who view it as a oxymoron, but the idea of hitting a limit and still going higher would definitely resonate with Oden. It also works with Roger’s goal. He reached the end of the grandline and just knew that there was 1 more island and he had to go there. Everyone else might have reached there and been like “well that’s all there is”.
With Marco, his ability is so broken that even with haki, he can still immediately heal it afterwards. That's why it took Garp to rush him with Haki Punch so strong, he knocked him out in one swing.
So unless there is some type of limit to his DF power, Marco can not accumulate damage and needs to be one-shoted every time
He probably also suffers from the stamina drain his fruit inflicts on others its just that he is insanely strong and so has loads of stamina. Remember that sengoku did tell the fodder marines to keep shooting marco eventhough it appeared to do nothing
Marco’s weakness is just the standard endurance. Similar to Law but not as extreme or most other devil fruit users. His power takes effort to use. Marco can heal his wounds but he can’t magically get stamina back. It might be a very long time but there will eventually be a point where he’ll be too tired to move or use his power and will have to take a break. If that’s not the case then he would actually be broken.
yep i mean he definetly has a stamina limit but he had the fruit for over 30 years now so he mustv'e minimized the drain and work in his stamina and physical prowess overall (and let's not forget his Haki which i mean wow he was under WB i won't be surprised if he has advanced armament)
Garp has advanced armament haki. Definitely superior to Marco. So yea a punch from Garp who's famous for his fists can hurt Marco. I dont see Queen taking out Marco. I see a serious battle with him & King though. King is a Swordman so he definitely specializes in armament haki.

yeah it would make sense cause ace joined whitebeard pirates after going to Wano and after joining he was still hating on his dad so from that we get that during the conv between Yamato and ace they never brought up roger by his name or else Yamato would've told him everything his dad was and I think he would've changed his mind about him

(and idk Zoro or maybe all of them being all serious answers) "Posing" "oh okay" and then they just continuing in silence until Luffy comes

Had to let this chapter stew for a bit to fully grasp the significance of what we saw, and all of this was just the start of what’s about to happen! 2 Yonko are about to be either dead by the end of this or sent running in disgrace, compare that to the end of Tot-land where the Strawhats had to run for their lives or when Luffy got one shot by Kaido at the begging of Wano
