The IMF International monetary fund gives loans to third world countries and issues conditions like devaluation of currency, increase of taxes, lowering wages, and other general re-structuring of the economy. This is what Nigeria went through in 1986(I was 19 then) called the SFEM with IMF. This SFEM in Nigeria devalued the currency overnight from $1 to 3 Naira to $1 to 50 Naira in one week and we thought it was bad then but now it is $1 to 780 Naira.

President William Ruto has faced significant backlash and calls for accountability following the deadly protests over the controversial Finance Bill 2024 in Kenya.
The protests, sparked by proposed tax hikes, turned violent and resulted in the deaths of at least 23 protesters and left over 200 injured.
Protesters, led largely by young Kenyans, have vowed to continue demonstrating and are planning to occupy State House, the president's office and residence.
Most Kenyans feel that Ruto should step down or be removed from office due to his administration's handling of the situation.

Sad to hear of the deaths of 10 people. I don’t know why the police in Africa do resort to use live bullets on the citizens. On the other hand, there’s need for the protesters to protest peacefully since Ruto has heard the protest message & declined to sign the controversial financial bill. Kenya has been a peaceful country but the images of these protests might scare away many potential investors & tourists from coming to invest or tour this beautiful country if the protests continue to be violent. This is time for more dialogue with the greedy parliamentarians whom the people need to punish at the ballot box during your next election.
The Politicians are left with no alternative now that the youth are not following behind the Tribal lines. Ruto thought he had the support of his tribe, and caused tribal divisions. It does not work anymore. The kids are more inclusive now and that is a great thing.
