Thanks made the process look very approachable, just recently I have been trying to desolder an old keyboard of mine with flux + a desoldering braid with some success but it is fiddly. Just ordered a engineer SS-02 sucker so hopefully should speed up the process. Although the success you are having with a cheaper sucker is making me wish I had tried something like that first. As a side note I am hovering over the buy button on a hot swappable board for when I finally snap trying to do this :).
I do the desoldering without moving away the soldering iron, by taking the pump very close to the solder. I noticed that this way I get a better result
I have so much problems while desoldering. It takes so much time, and I rarely make a clean desolder. I have to do it 4-5 times on one pin of the switch. So I always buy hot swap.
Hey nice video, I am having the same problem, if I do not put some solder on it, it wont even melt, even though i use like 450 C, so i have to add a bit of solder to be able to efficiently melt, is a bit of a pian tbh - any tipps?
the reason why that Sauder was hard to get off was likely because it doesn't contain lead, you would usually see the Sauder almost form bubbles so it could also be because of a cold soldering iron.
Is it necessary to re-solder the switches when you're replacing them? Can't they just sit back in the socket with out being re-soldered? Or will they be too loose/not make contact with the PCB?

Awesome guide nice editing!

Possible to solve the problem of the keyboard 6 buttons not working after the update k580 VATA

Late reply and if it still maters, you have to resolder the switches as without the solder the switch pins are unable to make contact with the PCB.
@@kitenguyen7437 perfect, thanks!
What desoldering station you used?
