Thanks :) I'd be wanting to hit one of those ships for a long time, finally got the nerve up to risk a failsafe with the cell transmitters on those things.
I've always wanted to do this when I'm in Ladysmith! I've looked out and seen ships and man I've wanted to fly out. I guess I just need to do it!!! Thanks for sharing, fantastic as always!
Thanks! yes Ladysmith is where I see so many ships that I want to fly... What's always given me pause is the cell transmitters - they interfere with crossfire really badly and has caused failsafes for me. A failsafe over the trees is one thing, but one over the ocean is another :)
@@MactacFPV Oh I hear yah, a while back I was flying under the bridge by the Six mile pub and my drone flipped to Atti mode and almost took off on me. I was able to stop it but it was a little unnerving being over water!!!!
Wicked footage bud , I had a few signal drops on my mavic flying over one of these . Lots of different radio waves coming off these ships like you mentioned.
Nice one. I really feel your excitement during this flight. Flying the ocean is scary. I once crashed my quad in the ocean and managed to get it back after an hour of searching and diving (approx. 7 meters deep). But the salt water killed everything but the frame and my GoPro.
Oh man, thank sucks. I did the same thing, but the GoPro was dead (I found it underwater the next day since it came off the quad), but I ended up using 2 of the motors later. I actually still use that frame, I've nicknamed that quad "Poseidon" :) Here's the story: ruclips.net/video/fYCbpPB9T-w/видео.html
Flying over water is certainly 'exciting' and really want to ensure the fail safe and GPS are working properly before that. I learned a hard lesson not testing failsafe before flying in Hawaii - I recovered the drone but kept it for spare parts only for my next one. Great flying. Love the video.
Thanks! The issue for me was the cell transmitter on the bridge of the boat - I've failsafed crossfire near cell towers before (they are 25W, and transmitting at the similar freq to xfire) , and that has always kept me away from the big boats. My video went red when I got close to the bridge, but I didn't have any close calls with the radio. I think it was prob less than 2km, I should check my dvr.
That water flying would pucker me up lol. My cinema one frame should be here today. Can’t wait to build my first 7” mid range! What kind of flight times do you get on the GNB 6s?
Admire your rotor bravery, great footage !

@@NWSanta I bet! Keeps the blood pumping, that's for sure :)
Full send bro!!!
Sent! :) thanks
Excellent flight
Thank you so much !

Great video there mate.. some excellent smooth flying… nicely done bro 😎
Thank you so much!
imagine diving the hatch into the darkness!!
Oh man, did I ever want to do that!
Amazing flight 👏👍
You caught them dumping their liquid waste into the bay, which isn't allowed.

Awesome
Well thank you, sir !
That's so gnarly!
Thanks :)
Nice! I have my first FPV system coming from Banggood, would love to fly with you sometime in Nanaimo!
That would be cool, yes! What did you buy?
@@MactacFPV I got the Eachine Novice 4, and a pair of EV100s, its a sub 250g 4" LR with a Radiomaster TX12
Great video! Always scary going that far over the ocean... 2-3 km's out I presume? Was this all on 1 battery?! Sick!

Badass!
Thanks man !
No clue why but 0:20 - 0:53 feels like a Nolan scene to me lol nice work
Hahaha, I love it . Thank you
Amazing flight 💥 what size of Lipo ?
Thanks ! It was a GNB 2600 6s
Didn't you notice the H landing pad on the deck?
You should have landed on it!

Hope the build went well! I'm getting a good 8 min, and that's when climbing mountains. Cruising like this probably quite a bit more.
Nice 🤟👍😎
