Here in the USA, I wish it would be made a law that landlords must test their rentals for radon levels to be able to rent their properties. Two of the lower level apts that I rented had significant radon and my only choice was to move because the landlords would not believe the report that was mailed back to me from the test site. Landlords claimed that I must have performed the test improperly. Looking back, I would have insisted that I do a radon test before I sign a lease. Living in a highrise now...got a whole different set of rental issues!
For the safety of everyone, it'd be great to spread out the costs across the public, that everyone pays a little bit to cover for the people who actually have a problem. That way stores & everywhere gets automatically checked and automatically paid for - & everyone is safer. Yes, I think the government should take car of it - regardless of how much or how little the person or business makes. Research shows that's how to get buy-in from consumers, and get widespread change done. Therefore, just get it done, by the government, regardless of income. AKA no excuses for not doing it.
Does anyone know if lung cancer levels correlate to the radon map ? I can't find any maps that suggest this (not saying it's not an issue but would like to know)
Depends… if you don’t have much it’s not an issue, if you do, ventilation is a good place to start, make sure your air is circulating through your home, Radon comes from radioactive decay of heavier radioactive elements, so basements are usually the main problem since they are closest to the ground. Generally any sort of ventilation will go along way.
Thanks great video. I am now aware i'm in an area that has is 10-30% Radon. I'm somewhat pleased about this, as after walking the film "The Hulk" i'm hopeful of developing radioactive hulk powers to enhance my bench press ability.
By this map you can see why Buckingham Palace is located where it is and why the Queen is so old, she's in the lowest radon area in the UK.
I don’t think they were testing for radon in the early 18th century 🤣
We all know he just got those beers to drink right

Thats an interesting take, however what can we do to fix the problem or protect our health?
Another reason air source heat pumps are a bad idea......
What are you in about? They don’t actually pull air in, they use the temperature gradient to boil the coolant.
Isn t fracking going to cause more earthquakes resulting in more Radon exposure?
Galaxy brain unlocked. Here breathe more radon to not worry about it.
this is all well and good... so How do we get rid of it?

Pump fresh air into your house to increase the internal air pressure and increase your omega 3 in your diet. You'll be fine.
