Worked outdoors at a lumberyard, in Tucker for a year. Rode a bicycle to & from work. Sometimes couldn't believe I was getting paid to be that happy. Sunshine, fresh air & physical labor is quite the health elixir.
I involuntarily took up the early to sleep, early to rise cycle in Peace Corps. After the Sun went down there was very little light, but during the day there was a hot tropical Sun in the sky that was hard to escape. I never felt so happy and healthy. I stayed, and despite now using more artificial lighting, I still go to sleep by 9 and get up around 5, even on the weekends. It's great, especially for my mental health.
For many years I commuted to the city by bus , working in a nice but stuffy office , maybe walked to meetings a few blocks away and commuted back at night . I did not feel that good really . When I retired , I swam at the local beach sailed and walked and literally soaked up the sun , the body responded and was a lot happier. Far less colds and other bugs .
As for the overnight....amber light idea "except when we have to do regular checks...or in an emergency". Does anyone actually think people get to sleep in a hospital? This reminds me of a Dr who came in at 7 & said open the blinds it's morning....as if the patient had been sleeping for 8 hours. I told him these poor patients are disturbed constantly for vital signs, lab draws...IV's beeping, medications, toileting.....& sleep is important too. Breakfast is at 8 & they need to sleep when ever they can between our disturbances. Sleep is more important than light when people are ill. But sure if they want to change the lightbulbs to something better that would be great.
@paultidwell8799 thanks! Funny coinkadinker, but I just started using blue light filter a couple of days ago. Why didn't you send me your msg 2 yrs ago!? ❤🎄🎅
Yellow driving glasses also works, so in case you couldn't dim the light you could instead wear this glasses. They are very powerful tool, if you wear it during the day your whole day will feel like at late evening, regardless of even the heat & intense brightness of the noon.
There's nowhere to sit outside the casino because they want you to enter the casino to have a sit break. The available place to sit in the casino is in front of the slots...lol.I lived in Vegas for 15 years. I've seen many confused tourists.
Very interesting subject. I learned a lot. But I kept wondering wether she lacked a few hours of sleep or just hadn't prepared herself for this lecture.
"I want to stay up late but my husband will not let me." "I have to get up (at 0500) to cook my husband breakfast..." I realise that they (the Amish) have a different way of life, but if one person in a relationship gets to dominate/oppress the other - GTF.
Lol! I'm a big fan of sleep. Just finished. Went outside. Am going to try to go outside more knowing this stuff. unfortuately I had buffering issues that irritated me when I was watching this so I yt-dlped it and then finished it with MPV. I have a new found respect for the sun. I'm making efforts to get more exposure to it, Although, I understand it's a double edged sword. get more, don't get too much.
I was in the hospital for weeks, and not only is there no day/ night . they come in every few hours and wake you up. They were giving me sleep meds, and after a week of no real sleep, and the meds, I didn't know what way was up, I was so out of it I could Barely use a phone, I kept dialing the wrong # over again, and could not dial the correct # to save my life,
How can you show this in Winter, I know I'm depressed because of the lack of sunlight and I barely go out and I should to get at least some, but I don't want to know why at the moment. Maybe in Summer.
Lovely Linda did mention that it wasn't so much electricity that the Amish had a problem with, rather the more intrusive aspects of modernity. They've probably just made a decision that on balance, keeping food cold is not causing any real harm and is simply a sensible way to reduce waste and potential disease etc.
1879 Thomas Edison is the most celebrated of incandescent inventors. He was able to succeed in creating the first reliable (therefore marketable) light bulb. His bulbs made after 1880 lasted a whopping 600 hours. He then hired lots of talented engineers and created the world's most famous "invention factory".
Thomas Edison is to the incandescent light bulb what James Watt is to the steam engine. He did not _invent_ it (in fact there were more than 20 types of incandescent light bulb prior to Edison and Swan) he merely perfected it. As you pointed out, rather successfully making it the first commercially viable light bulb. The subsequent marketing of his bulb with his name is why he is often credited with its invention.
Yes plants give us oxygen and we give them carbon dioxide. We are not separate but different parts of the One that we are, just as male and female are different manifestations of the same thing. The bible is not literally word for word info, but metaphors. Eve was not created from atom, atom was male and female and they divided into two parts but neither part can exist without the other just as there can't be a right without a left. Two parts of the same One.
I listen to these videos to collect information that I can apply to improving my family’s health. Unfortunate that the speaker uses more than half of her time telling silly, personal stories that I guess she thinks will keep her audience listening.

This was basically the answer to almost every problem I suffer from. Thank you so much.
This type of RUclips channel should be the most subscribed channel.....

Linda Geddes' Sun Science was definitely fun science. I really liked her method of incorporating anecdotal observations into the presentation.
Delicious sarcasm fairly decent point taken.

Wonderful talk, so much information. Thank you.
Interesting presentation. Beautiful lady.
Like your video. Thank you for the insight. I've been researching a lot I have eye problems
Thanks for the talk, Linda. Some interesting items you posed.
We're not supposed to use our devices at night & I'm watching this on my phone @ 3 AM.
Turn on night light mode.

Very interesting. Will try to get out of the house a bit more now.
shift work is great for business, and terrible for the humans who must perform it.
David Boson I am that human. And it sucks for you gremlins because I’m coming after you all
Check the Covid paradigm - Wear a mask and stay indoors.

I'm automatically put-off by Edison fans. Guy was the OG of dirty businessmen.

How do I get to the reverse side?
Try being a Postman. Early to bed, early rise and lots of outdoor light.
Try having those conferences in Lappland. This time of year Sun won't rise at all. In midsummer Sun won't set.
Laplanders:
Sunakin:
I woke them. I woke them all. They're awake, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too.
How can you show this in Winter,
I know I'm depressed because of the lack of sunlight and I barely go out and I should to get at least some, but I don't want to know why at the moment.
Maybe in Summer.
The time indeed has a specification, we are also in somewhat of a solar minimum.
Overcast and raining all of this December day here
It's summer here in New Zealand, where a barbecue on the beach is a common Christmas dinner!
On winter or rainy days Sunlight still comes through especially UV rays
Why does the Amish house have a fridge freezer?

They use gas (propane) powered refrigerators. No electricity is used.
Why do they use iphones? Why do christians wear blended cloth? Why don''t we worship the sun? Join my religion and all will be revealed.
Is it only me wondering why all the audiences are the elders?
Eddison wasn't a genius. Tesla was. 😊
Exactly, and most of the things Edison is known for was created by guys working for him, like Tesla!

Does sunglasses make a difference in the sun , I have heard that no sunglasses but with a peaked hat is far better .
Sunglasses and car windows block out UV rays and while you might not want too much UV, UV has good benefits!
@@ChrisOakesCO thanks
@@geraldhills41 An thank you for the wonderful vid.. 🌝
British Summer Sunlight... What are you blathering about
No we don't need to thanks Thomas Edison. WE Need to Thanks Nikola Tesla !
Reminds me of how much I hate Las Vegas.

Doesn’t the sun modulate the immune system rather than suppress it?

Humans are just flowers that can move: get some water, sunlight, and youre basically sorted.
