Next time i hear this creepy sound when being alone in the middle of a desert, i will stay calm cuz now i know it simply means that someone, somewhere drives the quadbike down the slope of a dune. Thanks !
It obviously didn't lose it's grip. That's a Golden Wheel Spider. It rolls like that to make a quick get away when it feels threatened, mainly from it's nemesis the Spider Wasp which lays its eggs inside the spider's abdomen. A really fascinating and rare form of defense really.
I got stuck on guard duty in the middle of a desert with a pallet of food and water for a week with nothing but a radio and a rifle. (artillary impact border) the silence was absolute, only the occasional wind and my breathing. a buzzard flew by, I could hear the bones in his wings creak. Never have I been so relieved to go back to civilization.
Sounds like a dream I had. No context, in the American Southwest, standing on top of a small 30 foot butte, preparing to climb to the top of a 200ft tall butte to get a better shot on a lone pronghorn. The dream skips forward and it’s now nighttime, and I’m roasting a rack of ribs over a fire, and it’s so so cold even right by the firepit. It skips forward again and I’m leaning up against my quad by the fire as I get lulled to sleep by the warm winds that pass through. I woke up that day with such unbreakable fervor. It’s times like that which make me question why our subconscious is so untapped despite its potential.

There are three things I've always wondered about - how many centimeters of hair is at any given time stuck in the collective drains of this world, what is the meaning of life, and is an adorable golden mole sneaky or not. Now I've gotten an answer to one of those questions, an adorable golden mole _is_ quite sneaky indeed, thank you very much BBC, once again you deliver flawlessly!
A 4 minute video on the golden mole and they only show it for 20 seconds and don't tell us a damn thing about it. Typical BBC media. A whole lotta hype and no goods.
That segment of listening to animals through the geophone reminded me a lot of the sounds in jan svankmajer's stop-motion films, lots of really pulsing, piercing beats with every step, it's really pretty eerie. Makes things seem a lot bigger when every step echoes like that.
@@thesaviorofsouls5210 Oh yeah! They are pure angry muscle. I once saved a normal garden mole from a friends cat. It was on the surface so I called my friend to grab a towel to wrap it in. I grabbed it by the tail and he was starting to dig back in and I could feel the power. If they were human sized they would be gorilla+ level power. It did not like it and was trying to bite me the whole time (I don't blame it). Hence why I got the towel to wrap it up safe in (well safer for me) till I could drop it off in a nearby bit of grassland. Was amazing and cool to get a close up look at one. Superb little creatures.

Just as an aside: ALL spiders are venomous. It's about HOW much venom each species has and if it's able to bite humans; venom is how spiders paralyze their prey, and humans tend to be allergic (true allergy, from my understanding) to it.

I mean, you could argue that the title focused more on the "strange sound" than the mole, so it's not technically wrong.
Point taken.
was the rolling spider not good?
There are a lot of good things in the video , this is a good informative video , criticise when their is only a need to criticize
