    That was an exceptional demonstration of how to replace that carburetor. And great job to your helper who was recording.👏 👏👏

    Overtightened and messed up the drain bolt last night causing the fuel to leak(about a drop every few seconds). Will be replacing the carb soon once it arrives, such a stupid mistake. For now I’ve applied RTV and hopefully it’ll seal the bolt until the new carb arrives. Great video, definitely going to replace it myself now and save me some $$$ and a trip to haul the snowblower to and from the local shop. Thank you.

    Thanks Man! Yours was the only video I found that showed gasket placement. Put on a brand new carb - and it wouldn't start. watched your video and removed the extra gasket I mistakenly installed - and fired right up. appreciate you!

    thank you for putting together this video. my carburetor is fine but I wanted to know how to expose the fuel line so I can drain the gas completely from the machine. the older machines were definitely more user serviceable.

      I'm glad this was helpful and I 100% agree that the old engines were so nice to work on and these are just a lot of disassemble just to find the carburetor :). Thank you and I hope all goes as well too. I would recommended using aspen4 fuel as an alternative to pump gas. You will stop having issues with your carburetor problems from gas going bad. Here is a link to read about it and to locate it to purchase. www.aspenfuels.com/products/alla/aspen-4/.

    Great video. Just wondering why you are changing the carb on a new machine.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 года назад +4

      Hi Barry, In our area where I live we do not use the machines enough and the gas goes bad inside the carburetor if the machine isn’t stored properly. This machine is 5 years old was just not used much. The fuel going bad ruined the inside of the carburetor. Store your machine correctly and this should not happen.

    (FYI)The Tecumseh Engines, that are on many Snow blowers. Always seem to be fuel starved. Going up a size on the jetting helps.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 года назад

      The problem with the Tecumseh snow thrower engines is that they are no longer adjustable as they were in the past. Meaning when they made these non-adjustable carburetors at the factory in perfect conditions they would run fine but when you put them in 32° when it’s snowing they are starving for fuel until they warm up. You must run them for about 5 to 10 minutes full throttle while blowing snow and normally they’ll run OK after that. If you still have an issue after 10 minutes normally that means that there is bad fuel clogging jets.

    • @steamboatwillie935
      @steamboatwillie935 2 года назад

      @@JohnsonsSmallEngines Hey Brad, I agree with that on the non adjustable Carbs. Sometimes there are hidden adjustment screws. Taryl Fixes all just did a video on that. Another thing I notice, is the height of the Gas Tank. The Carbs are gravity fed. A low fuel line doesn't allow the fuel to flow properly. As always Thanks again for a great Video.

    Followed everything you did with a new carb (20 bucks/Amazon) put fresh non-oxygenated gas in, fired it up and nothing---same problem as before. Replaced spark plug too and still won't fire. Are these cheaper carbs factory defective? It is exactly the same as the one I replaced. Now, I am going to put in the cleaned up old carb back in. I ran ordinary gas in it before but would also put Sea foam in as well. From now on, nothing but nonoxygenated fuel.

      Put the cleaned up original carb on, put fresh, non ox gas in fired up and still won't start. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Loved the video. I had to take my carberator out recently to clean it. I took video of the entire break down process. I had to get the gas tank off because it was rust inside due to a crack gas cap. I put the carburator back but something strange happens. The grey throttle where the image of the turtle and rabbit, that piece, when I turn it, the throttle springs back to the position I turned it from. I check several videos and cannot see what I did wrong putting it back together. I have the Ariens delixe 28 model, 921030. ANy ideas what may have happened?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  11 месяцев назад

      This video was how to replace it. It was not worth rebuilding. I may have a video on how to rebuild one in the future but not at this time.

  • @davewise3197

    there is a black plastic screw on the side that adjusts? Doesn't appear to go to throttle plate? Thanks

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  Год назад

      If it is the black screw above the red plastic cap on this carburetor in the video. It is a idle screw. If your replacing the carburetor with a new one you will not needed to adjust it. If your rebuilding the carburetor, you will need to make sure it goes back in sitting in the same position as it was.

      @@JohnsonsSmallEngines i have a brand new blower. It surges just a touch. Would adjusting it help anything?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  Год назад

      No, it will only make the idle higher or lower, it will not make the surge go away. Sometimes the engines will surge until they warm up. If it surges after 7 to 10 minutes of using the machine in the snow you most likely have a carburetor issue. Unless you may live in a high altitude area?
