The moral of the story is, if a crocodile leaves you alone, don't go in, under the water and try and chase it
Yeah, I couldn't believe it when he did that. I was like, WTF bruh?

@@Frazzled_Chameleon yeah, i could not believe it, should have just got out, damn!
You do realise that crocs can come out of the water don't you?
@Comrade Dmitri Regardless, they're still very proficient on land. Especially given he was on a steep sandy bank.
There are many mean comments here regarding Alistair "coming back to fight a croc".
Looks like filming crew depicted it completely worng. Alistair literally said : "I pedaled into the inland, as my feet touched the ground I looked up , up 2 - 3 yards away there was this crocodile." Meaning that he still was in the water, but his feet could finally reach the ground underwater and why he was able to stand and spot a croc about 2.5 meters away(thats terrifying how close), which makes perfect sense why he did what he did in this situation. But Narrator fucked it up by claming he reached the shore. He didn't and never said so. Otherwise he wouldnt dive back in the water. It's absurd. It definetly was a missunderstading from production part. upvote this people.
I also thought I saw the shore line in the video but I might have imagined that and this wasn't the real footage ofcourse
I mean, with that context I can understand in an extremely tense and stressful situation (where you have little time to think), He decided fight, instead of flight. But what he should've done is back away slowly without disturbing the water. Croc may have left him alone, maybe not, but he the croc would've been less likely to attack had he just backed away slowly.
But yeah, unless you've been face to face with an apex predator like that... who knows how you'd react. Would your mind even be capable of reasonable choices in that situation, or would your instincts completely override your decision making abilities? Easy to judge this man in the comfort of your own home.
honestly I didn't get that he went back into the water, he was swimming to shore and the croc came at him.
Regardless going towards the crock like he was going to scare it wasn't smart, but either way he was probably getting attacked so it didn't matter too much it was all he could think of. Honestly I probably would have done the same thing 😆.
He said 10 yards not 2.5

I got lost in an ikea. Terrifying
me watching this from the comfort of my home in South Africa: “Damn! Africa’s crazy”
How in the world those people thought being on this river “peaceful “….it’s incredibly dangerous but these folks blow my mind…hippos, crocs, elephants, I just marvel at their complete absence of fear.
Absence of intelligence, you mean.
Hotdog stand in the middle of a river, that's what they were...
Ikr. Who goes on a tiny ass boat down a huge river filled with huge, strong, power and dangerous animals? It was big enough for a ship to go across. That is what you do. You go in a big boat with lots of people.
Imagine not being able to swim but you fish near 4 of some of the most dangerous animals in the world, money doesn't buy common sense. Would of been better spent on some swimming lessons rofl
Would of? Really? "of"?
Money can't buy basic grammar either, apparently.
It is and always has been "would have" or "would've". That doesn't change.

It’s amazing how people are going through difficulty and no one is thinking about praying to God in Jesus name.

@@ethannaka1822 omg savage but there is alot of truth to this statement. 😂😂😂😂
@@kaceykent2269 haha there's definitely no shortage of these videos! People always doing something dumb.
@@ethannaka1822 sometimes I am watching these videos and I am like how on earth did they make this error. I have seem it so many times. It is usually bad decisions after bad decisions. Sometimes I wonder if they don't get that gut feeling when something is about to go terribly wrong. I have learned that it should never be ignored.
Ah yes, there's alway one special person on each episode and on this one it's Allister, the Larry of the jungle lol
🤣😂i rem stupid larry
I like how we are all just a community of people who watch this show and know all the inside jokes
I'm addicted to watching these eventhough it causes me so much anxiety lol
Always thinking the SAAMMMMEEEEE 🥺😐😅😂😜 I get crazy anxiety 😥 where luke I’m fearing things here 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ but I can’t stop watching !
Same lol. Sometimes it’s too much anxiety and I have to fast forward to the end to see the rescue just for peace of mind, and then rewind and watch it from the beginning. They did a phenomenal job making these videos. They’re SO real!!
You fear the creation because you dont fear the Creator.
Same. We have watched any type of show even close to this
Same here..lol..the fact that these events really happened is straight horrifying 😳
The ants needs a big round of applause too😎they really got him moving…

🇨🇦🙏 My dear God! I can't even begin to imagine how frightened and how hopeless they all must have felt. Feeling like they could loose their lives at any moment! It's also like that buffalo watch over him all night to make sure no predators came near him. They most certainly had angels watching over them. I am soooo happy that they all made it! 🙏 God bless all of them. HE DID!
Ok. I’m never going to Africa, the Grand Canyon, Mt. Everest, the Amazon, the jungle, any rainforest. Never going hiking, kayaking, sailing, fishing, rock climbing, or walking to the corner store. I’m done.

@@Hello-ig1px well I was kidding. 😬
I hear you Gizmo! Bahahaha!

Ok, so if god had the omnipresence to intervene… why did he allow it to happen in the first place?
Is it not enough to rely on scientific explanations?
@2girls 1cup word?
@2girls 1cup holy shit. that almost sounds like fantasy.
@2girls 1cup almost. Lol.
He’s so crazy, and sometimes I think I see loopholes in his words… and I sometimes think “wow. My morals are actually higher than his,” but then I remember my upbringing, and how my parents, and the dude at church, and everyone else in my congregation told me the superhero and his son are legit, so I breath a sigh of relief, and turn my brain back off.
I mean… it’s so much more comfortable to think he has my back than to think I’m alone. How scary.
@2girls 1cup it’s like when tragedy befalls someone… like those indeed i me survival stories of people marooned on islands, or lost in jungles… the getting fucked in the first place was part of his plan, just as the successful rescue efforts.
The friends they lost along the way? Part of god’s plan for them specifically. We’re not arrogant. We can’t pretend to know his will. Lol.
How stupid can that guy be? He reaches the land than decides to go back in the water to fight a crocodile 🤦🏽♀️
He probably would’ve surmised that he’d be unable to reach a tree to climb in time for the croc to not catch him as they are suprisingly fast on land, and they typically leave prey alone that puts up a fight as they’d much rather have an easier meal. So dude let his money brain take control which probably saved his life 🥴
😅
@@mynamethog1151 your explanation makes his decision a little less stupid however still stupid

What use do we have for all these dangerous animals. We have the means to kill them all off. Let's do it: Every dangerous animal: Crocs, Lions, Tigers, poisonous snakes....Everything dangerous
Uh yeah... no... Mankind has dominion over the animal kingdom. Sorry. We are commanded not to abuse them, but we still have dominion over them.
@@alexwilson9530 and ruin ecosystems? There is a balance to everything in life...nature is no different
@@felicityfleming1319 ok take Lions for example. How do they keep the eco system in balance? By killing and eating antelopes, Buffalo, etc? Why we eat those ourselves we don't need dangerous Cats to keep those populations in check. Snakes? We got rat poison and other ways of pest control. Crocs? just like big cats, they eat what we eat. Think about it
Phew! Finally made it to shore and I'm up on my feet, wait... hold on, oh theres a croc looking right at me, maybe I should walk the last few steps and get out of the water? Ok now the croc has submerged out of sight, I should probably not get out of the water, and instead have a look around under water and see if I can spot him... ah there he is, attached to my arm 😂
Hilarious
This episode is my favorite , saw it years ago and have never forgotten it , the thing with the Buffalo is crazy sweet
How can people think it's ok to go fishing in the middle of hippos and crocs? EVERYBODY knows how incredibly dangerous and aggressive those animals are. 🤦
Right smh how stupid I’m sorry
perhaps they like to live on the edge
People feel entitled. The local fishermen have to do it because it's their livelihood, otherwise they would starve to death. Random people going out without any experience are asking for trouble. The thrill can turn into a live or die situation within a matter of seconds, as seen here.
There were a bunch of kayakers going through a Congo river in a formation of four. Experienced too. A croc flipped one of the kayakers and he was never to be seen again. Guess experience doesn't bring in common sense. People really take nature lightly.
It makes even less sense the more you think about it, if u do catch a fish you could attract Crocs with all the splashing
Can’t think far
We experienced the same thing in kavango river n even lost some of our neighbors, friends n family to Crocs, elephant n hippo but mostly Crocs n hippo that kill alot of people in kavango . So kavango is a river at the same time the name of our region, Kavango is next to zambezi region . I'm proud that I was born in kavango n love my country else well 🇳🇦
Moral of the storey; don’t steal mr hippos fishy 😜

I thought about that too I thought the hippo was pretty pissed they took his fish LOL
Yeah, I betcha they won’t do that again 🤣🤣🤣
