My Parents in the early 1950s had a pre-fab ranch house built for them near the Notre Dame Campus (South Bend Indiana) by a fairly well known company at the time "Gunnison". It actually had a full basement.....not built on a slab.

I've seen some HORRIBLE things done to Lustrons, including cladding everything in grooved wooden panels.
